Gun Grave

Chapter 1

Rain pours from the blackened skies of planet city Syn, and one girl paid no mind to the drops of ice cold water beat down upon her fragile frame as she ran through an alley way called "Rat City" Her name is Maria Strife, daughter of Lela Strife and Harry Strife the leader of a crime circle called The Syndicate and one of the most feared men in Syn City. She continued to run though the alley way, she seemed to be searching for someone, "He better be here." She muttered as she ran through the rat-infested alley way, the day before her mother Lela disappeared, she gave her daughter two handguns call "Cerberus" and told her to search for a man called "Death Beyond the Grave" the next day Maria ran away from home with the "Cerberus" guns in a backpack and started her search for "Death Beyond the Grave"

"Damn it!" Maria growled in frustration as she continued to run "Where the hell is this "Death Beyond the Grave" guy supposed to be!" She screamed on the verge of just giving up and returning home. "You're looking for "Death Beyond the Grave" aren't you child?" Maria turned around and met a man probably in his early 50s late 40s, wearing a torn and faded white lab coat, "My name is Dr. Yang, I can help you find him. Follow me." Dr. Yang said motioned her to follow him deeper into the alley. "Where are you taking me?" Maria asked as they entered an elevator and started to go down into the lower layers of the planet city, Dr. Yang turned to her smiling "I'm taking you to see him child." Dr. Yang then looked at the bag she is carrying on her back "May I see what you are carrying?"

"Sure." She opened the bag and pulled out two silver handguns in a design Dr. Yang has never seen before, "What are those?" Dr. Yang asked as he studied the peculiar weapons. "They are called "Cerberus" my mother gave them to me, and told me to find "Death Beyond the Grave" but…how do you know him?" Maria asked with equal curiosity, Dr. Yang smiled "I know him because we both worked in The Syndicate and I saved him from death." Dr. Yang said his smile growing even wider as he saw Marias' reaction. "What did you save him from?" Maria asked getting very interested "Well you see, about 3 years ago, before Harry was the big boss, Harry and "Death Beyond the Grave" were friends. But that changed with Harry became the big boss, and ordered "Death Beyond the Grave" to death. Harry had been second-class when it came to killing with "Death Beyond the Grave" and wanted him out of the way so he could be the best." Dr. Yang paused in thought "After Harry killed him, I found him lying in an alley, thinking of trying a new serum I recently created I took his dead body to my secret lab, and begun the process. The serum I created was designed to reanimate a dead body, when "Death Beyond the Grave" revived I noticed an unknown factor in the process of the reanimation. Due to the fact I found him three hours after he died his skin was deathly pale, his strength has also increased, as did his speed and durability." Dr. Yang finally stopped and looked at Maria who listened to every word.

"So…you created a serum to bring the dead back to life?" Maria asked in shock, "Well yes and no. Before I tested it on other dead people, it had the same affect but there memory and intelligence completely disappeared. They became mindless zombies." Dr. Yang said as he looked into Marias' eyes and what he would think was disbelief he saw complete understanding and interest. Then an idea popped into his head, "Maria would you like to by my lab partner?" Dr. Yang asked wanting to know if she would and help him perfect his reanimation serum. Maria looked down at the ground wondering if she should or not, luckily for Dr. Yang she nodded yes. Dr. Yang smiled "Thank you very much child." Dr. Yang said as he smiled at the young woman, "Sure, oh, and my name is Maria." Maria said as he continued to smile at the professor.

An hour later…

"Who is the woman?" Death Beyond the Grave asked as they walked into an abandoned lab "I have something for you "Death Beyond the Grave" it's from my mother Lela." Maria said as she walked over to the man and gave him the Cerberus guns. "Hmm people still call me "Death Beyond the Grave" idiots, that is the name of a killer that long since died, my name is Syn." The Syn said, as he stood up, his trench coat open, revealing a black shirt with straps full of bullets, his eyes where white, his hair was a purplish tint and shoulder length. But the one thing that made Syn noticeable was the chains wrapped around his biceps, the chains led down to a coffin that bared the design of a cross. {Amazing! He is carrying that coffin around by his arms! What strength!} Maria thought as she looked at Syn, "Now did you say Lela?" Syn asked not sure if he heard right, Maria nodded yes and Syn stepped back, he then grabbed his head as if in pain. "Oh no it's happening again! Maria see that needle bring it over to me quickly!" Dr. Yang instructed, Maria ran over and grabbed the needle and ran over and gave it to Dr. Yang. Dr. Yang then thrust the needle right about the chain on his left arm and injected the fluid into his body; after a few seconds the medicine started to work and Syn started to calm down, then fall asleep.

"What happened?" Maria asked as she slowly walked over to the sleeping Syn, "After he was revived his memory was fragmented, he can only remember bits and pieces of his former life. But when you said your mothers name it triggered a memory that must be so potent just the memory cause immense pain, and believe it or not this is the first time." Dr. Yang said as he over looked Syn seeing if he injured himself in anyway. "So is he going to be alright?" Maria asked worrying about Syn a little, "Yes he'll wake up in an hour or so." Dr. Yang looks at Maria "You should go to sleep to you look exhausted." Dr. Yang said with warmth in his voice, Maria yawned and nodded, then walked towards the couch and fell asleep. Dr. Yang smiled at Maria sleeping "Such innocents." Dr. Yang whispered as he slowly crept towards another chair and sat down, and soon after fell asleep.

Lying in the floor Syn started to shift as if he was in pain that he could never escape, a trail of tears trickled down Syns' face, "Lela." Syn muttered as he shifted left and right trying to make the pain stop. A few minutes later Syn shot straight up "LELA!!!" Syn shouted his face paler than usual, this woke Dr. Yang but Maria remained asleep somehow, "Syn what is a matter?" Dr. Yang asked as he walked over to his undead friend. Syn ran his hand through his hair, his face was covered in cold sweat, "I saw Lela…she was in pain." Syn said as he looked at Maria feeling connected to her somehow, "Dr. Yang I want you to do something for me." Syn said as he looked at the sleeping Maria, "I want you to take mine and her blood samples and test them. I feel connected to her somehow." Syn said as he struggled to get up (Well if you just woke up and tried to get up but you was carrying a big coffin around you would struggle too).
