Water trickled down the window the young girl stared from. She just sat there, gazing into the pitch-blackness of the forest from the comfort of her small apartment. Heart pounding thoughts raced through her head, as she watch in wonder to every bolt of lightning that surged through the sky.
Her heart skipped a beat each time thunder roar and boomed shaking the walls and the glass of the windows of her apartment. A burning feeling in her eyes and a spared tear, she tried so hard to hide, bother her enough to make her move from her stone like pose.
As she thought endlessly `Here I am, 25 years old and still I sit here on a rainy night, with lights out and yet there is no manly hands to caress my face, no arms to hold me in security, to let me know I'm his.'
The young girl's figure was, chubby, short, and top heavy, with long brown hair that was fasten into a loose bun, wearing a black baggy T-shirt and to match, baggy gray sweat pants as her pajamas. Her teary puffy redness around her green hazel eyes hid the real beauty and her true happiness that was stored inside.
`Where is he God?'
Saying that in her mind she turned on her lumpy couch and faced her coffee table, to peer down at a play write. (Ring, ...Ring, ...Ring, BEEP...) Hi, This is Christine, sorry I'm not available at the moment (giggles) Zac stop...(Mans voice now recording) Sorry folks we're busy, so later.
“Christine, honey it's mom, calling to see when you plan on telling me when the play starts...I'm so proud of you honey. Oh and honey you know you need to change that message machine it's been already three months. I am pretty sure God is making you future someone on his way to find you. Well call me. Love ya.” (Click)
“Huh, she always knows when I'm miserable and just doesn't stop rubbing it in either.” Christine was now feeling anger towards her mother, and then the tears started falling one by one. “Why is it she is always right?”
Christine sat up and turned to the message machine and thought about erasing the old recording of her and Zac.
`It's the only thing I have left of him, for me to remember...but he hurt me, stupid bastard.'
Erasing the recording Christine actually had a smirk on her face in victory. Her smirk cease to a serious state.
“Now just to remember my lines.”
Christine walked back over to the coffee table and picked up the thick play write to start studying and memorizing lines. She skimmed through biting at her lower lip. Still she thought about the recording and regretting erasing it. If only he could call her.
`No... He doesn't deserve me nor did I not deserve him.'
Christine was one of those girls who had such low self-esteem, she never thought highly of herself. `I need get out.' Grabbing the phone she called a few friends and asked if they were going out, when and where.
She glanced up at the clock in the kitchen realizing it was only 9:00pm. `Good it's early.' She walked eagerly down the small hallway to enter her room. Scanning through her closet she found the perfect outfit for tonight's outing.
She lifted up a white blouse that was in a cut of a tanktop cutting off just below the bottom part of breast and emerging into flowing layers of the soft material. Absolutely stunning and to match some cute hip hugger jeans that met her size perfect. Laying her clothes down she rushed off to the bathroom to take a bath.
Steam poured out from the top of the tub and over the sides like light slightly visible clouds, slowly rising to the top of the room. `Oh, this is nice.' She laid there in the tub with the water up to her neck with her hair still in a messy bun, just soaking in the hot water. She couldn't help but think about Zac and the past.

“Hey Zac get me a towel. Pleeaassee...” Christine standing and hiding herself behind the bathroom door, dripping wet and shivering.
“Okay!” He stumbled out of his chair, to look in an unfolded laundry basket.
“Thanks Hon” She leaned over the door a bit further and kissed him softly on his cheek, continue to wrap herself in the huge beach towel.
“ You don't think I `m going away that easily, do you?” dropping a hint in his tone.
“No.” she smiled widely. Opening the door she met him with her mouth and his hands to her back to where she held the towel.
“Oh, and what do we have here.” He shifted to close the door behind him, to leave only giggles to be heard from within.

Snapping back to reality, she was drying off and peering into the fogged up mirror. Wiping away the mist that laid upon it, she looked deep into her eyes. Seeing the pain and hurt tears lying within them. She leaned to wipe the remainder of the huge mirror to look at herself.
There, what she saw before her, was not beautiful but hideous and fat. She stared in wonder of what she would look like with out the love handles, fatty legs and arms. She thought endlessly,
`What did he like about this.' She didn't find herself amusing to look at any longer.
Entering her room she put on a white-laced strapless bra and matching bikini cut panties. Slipping on the rest of the clothes she rushed to the kitchen to look at her clock it was now 10:30pm. “Shit.”
She ran into the bathroom and rushed brushing her hair and putting on makeup. About five minutes later she found herself grabbing her cell phone to put in purse and keys leaving her small apartment for the night.
“Hey Christine, where you at? We've been waiting for twenty minutes and the girls are getting pissed.”
“Sorry I didn't realize how late I was, I'm on my way right now, promise. Anyway what's the rush, you know the club doesn't start up till 11:00?“
“Well... We have a surprise for you!”
Christine hesitated, what was going on `A surprise?' She felt anxious and yet scared.
“Really now, tha...that's interesting.” Gulping hard after she spat the words out.
“You know me, always doing crazy stuff.” The friend said cheerfully.
That she did know, Emily was that one friend, who would be found on top of the bar dancing and holding a bottle in her hand and doing a shot in the other.
“Sigh...Yeah that's the truth. I'll be there in two minutes for sure. See ya, bye.”
Arriving at the club, club Atlantis, she spotted her three friends immediately. Of course no one could miss them, they were all totally ...well different would be good to start.
First there was Emily, the some-what seductive one of the group but the most cheerful.
Second there was Daniele the tall, skinny; rich and very much engaged one. Yup engaged, all Christine's doing of course.
Then there was of course the “bitch” of the group Mariana, the prettiest of the group, she thought she was a princess, and wanted all the benefits of telling who what to do or doing who ever she wants, she especially liked to pick on Christine. Of course Christine loathed her and wished to beat the living shit out of her, but she was Emily's friend and respected her best friend wishes not to bother with her.
“Hey girls!” She directed to only two of the girls.
“Christine!” The two girls shouted out in unison. They hugged and gave their fair share of glances and smiles at each other, for they haven't seen each other for months. But always kept calling each other non-stop.
“About time you came out of hiding!” Daniele said softly to her best friend.
“You look great, Christine what ya do, lose weight” Emily tried complimenting her friend, for Christine did look quite gorgeous.
“Yeah, I did, for the play anyway.” She said kinda down, wishing to tell the truth of why she lost the weight and how.
“About time.” Mariana said in a hush tone. Emily was the only one to hear her and elbow her lightly, to tell her to stop.
As Christine glanced around, her eyes fell on a familiar face. Her eyes widening, she came to realize that this had to be her surprise and she almost fainted at the sight of him.
He stood there speechless. Unable to rid the image of how beautiful Christine looked after all these years. He felt chills down his spine in pleasure of smelling her scent and perfume, how could he forget.
“Hello...Christine” He could barely say her name for it was just devoured by the urgency of wanting to hear her say his name. Could she have forgotten him?
`God, why do I feel like this I just saw her for the first time ...it has been a long time.'
Her cheeks were burning hot from blushing and couldn't find anything to say to him, not even a “hello”.
`When did he get back into town?' Her mind must've been running a mile a minute for she was just completely dazed to even notice someone talking to her. That someone being him.
“Earth to Christine, hello?” Waving her hand profusely, Emily's eyes filled with concern for Christine.
`What's a matter with her?'
“Well, Surprise...I guess” Sheepishly said.
“Huh, what, oh yea thanks.” Still dazed out of her mind, Christine was at least able to mutter words and flash a quick smile.
“Well you do remember him right? I mean he was your first love.” Extremely overjoyed that she put this little surprise together for her best friend.
`Of course I do'
“Hello... Blake.” Now her heart racing, from being able to say his name after so long.
The two people looked at each other and finally snapped out of it and returned back to reality.
“Well I don't know about ya'll I'm ready to party and get drunk!” Surprisingly coming not from Emily, but from Daniele!
