Tap tap tap tap.

The steps echoed in the hallway.

Plick plick plick plick.

The water dripped who knows where.

Tu-tum tu-tum tu-tum tu-tum.

Her heart beat with vehemence in her breast.

A scent of dampness came at her nostrils, mixed to the musky one of the man that held her.

Even the air was damp, and cold; but there where her body was in contact with his, she felt warmth.

She could not see; a small spell blinded her.

She didn't know where she was and where he was carrying her. All what she knew was that whatever it was, it was a surprise.

" Are we arrived?"

" Almost, be patient."

The girl sighed sinking even more in his chest, listening carefully the beat of his heart.

When they arrived, he putted her on her feet and removed the spell.

" Do you like it?"

" Egocentric."

" But do you like it?"

" Oh, well... I would have decorated and furnished it in an other way, but..."

" But?"

" But it is not so bad. Where are we?"

" Where you would want to be?! We are at Hogwarts."

" I know we're still at the castle. I'm wondering where this room is: I don't remember it in the project that those Dwarfs showed us. "

" This is a secret."

The young man said kissing her neck repeatedly. The girl giggled and she turned smiling.

" Stop to tickle me!"

He smiled and took her hand, going up to a side of the room, where there were a fireplace, a bed and a bookcase.

" When we have putted together our books for the Library," he said running his forefinger on the books' covers and the parchments," I have held these for myself: they are Muggle texts that I have collected during my trip in East. India, Catai, Cipango, those are rather fascinating countries and that, contrary to our Christian Europe; they have developed a vast and interesting literature about this subject. I want to study these books with you."

She rolled her eyes and said.

" I don't know those languages, it is much if I speak and writes properly Latin."

" Oh, but we don't need to read them, it is sufficient watch the pictures."

He said taking a book. Both sat on the bed and he opened a book, leaning it on their knees; then he whispered in husky voice:

" We could start with this... "

Shocked, she closed the book, catching his hand and she turned her head to hide her blush.

" How... how you could show such obscenity to a young girl, Salazar!"

" Sure that I can, until the girl is the one I love, Helga dear."

" Stop it with this /Helga dear/! I wonder what I was thinking when I have agreed to come here with you."

" It is because you love me, it's so simple!"

" I don't deny it, but... not up to that point!"

Salazar laid his hands on Helga's shoulders and hissed sensually:

" But you would like it."

" No."

He ran a hand through her hair and turned her.

" Repeat it."

Helga glanced at him for few seconds, she then glanced the fireplace.

" N-no."

He tilted a finger under her chin and forced her to look in his eyes.

" Repeat it. And watch me."

Helga bit her lower lip, watching in his eyes had always made her fell uneasy: it was like look at two empty wells, or the expressionless eyes of a snake. They didn't show emotions, yet some times -but just few- when he told her to love her, she had the impression to see deep in those opaque ambered green gems the love that he praised so much.

" Nnnnnnnnnnnh... I don't know!"

He smiled and kissed her; then plumped on the bed, hands behind his nape, closed eyes and a satisfied smile on his lips.

" I knew it. You couldn't tell me no, Helga dear."

Helga tsked, bothered by looking him being oh, so pleased with himself; she then got up and, hands on her hips, said:

" I have plants that need to be taken care of, thus tell me how go back."

Salazar lain on an elbow and whispered pouting:

" Are you yet going away? You are bad Helga! And I wanted to amuse you a little bit: you work too much for my tastes."

" And you too little! It's your job to teach potions and dark arts, not mine! You must stop spending your days dozing everywhere! Besides you do too much discriminations: all they have the right to learn!"

" Only the half of the half of those brats deserves to learn the magic! The mudbloods are incompetent, and teach them the noble and ancient art of magic it's only a waste of time. Besides, in these times, they know only how endanger other wizards."

Helga was hurt and angry, she then crossed her arms on her chest and exclaimed:

" If you think in this way, Salazar Slytherin, why are you wasting time /with me/?!"

He opened an eye and weighed the words well before reply.

" What has this got to do with the two of us? You are a muggleborn, but you know properly how control your power."

" And I know it because anybody has taught me! If the old hermit hasn't done it, now I would be somewhere roasting!"

" You have said the magic word, /roast/! Would you want that all of us have the same honorable end for a chicken or a sucking pig? Ah no, I'm not interested."

" You are so boring! You know well that one of the first things that Godric teaches to our students is how hide their own powers and to don't tell that they are wizards or witches!"

" You know too little the men. Where were Godric's teachings two summers ago, when that Luppinius exposed himself? Because of that git's fault, Roberia Leafeyes and her sons were killed, he besides put in danger also Rowena's pet's family!"

Helga bit again her lower lip: she didn't want to admit it, but Salazar had a point.

" We just need to make them understand that not expose themselves are the most important thing."

" You're dreamer. Listen Helga; I don't want a fight right now. "

He whispered kissing her temple and lacing his arms around her waist. She turned and looked at him doubtful; she then sighed and pronounced the words that worried her from months.

" Salazar, what... what you feel for me... is it love or just lust?"

He smiled enigmatic and answered kissing her:

" Decision is yours... "
