Fan Fiction ❯ Inconclusive ❯ True or False? ( Chapter 3 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Sorry it has taken me so long to finish this. Slight writer’s block. Hehehe… Anyway, on with the fic!
Starfire walked into the room where Kara was being held and sat in corner in a chair. It was very dark, so she could only see the girl with the pale light from the hallway. There were no windows, and she didn’t want to turn a light on incase it woke her, which would be much worse. She settled in for the long day ahead of her.
“Please, calm down,” Starfire begged. “I’m sorry, I did not mean to startle you.” She flew over to the light switch and turned it on.
Kara walked over to where Starfire had been sitting and picked up the pile of sheets. “No, I should be sorry. I didn‘t mean to mess up the room. Even though I am being unfairly held here, I can‘t stand it when I accidentally do stuff like that.”
Starfire was sympathetic, it reminded her of how Terra couldn’t control her powers at first. She smiled and looked at the clock.
“It is the twelve of the clock. Perhaps you would like something to eat?”
Kara smiled back. “Sure. Whatever you want to make is fine with me.”
Starfire smiled and walked out of the room. She trusted her, but she locked the door anyway, remembering that she could have been the one who had attacked them. She doubted this very much, but it was better to be safe than sorry.
As the door closed, Kara smiled. “Someone believes me. This is fantastic.”
“Calm down Robin,” Raven tried to say monotonously, but in another room something shattered because of her distress.
“We have to look for her immediately. No sympathy for the girl.” Robin stared out towards the city. He then added in a quieter voice, “We have to find her.”
Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy knew it was much better to just look for her now than discuss it. Robin was as close to freaking out as he ever got, so they all just split up and searched the city.
One by one, as the night grew dark, they all checked in with Robin, telling him that they had found no sign of her anywhere. At about 11 o’ clock PM, they finally found something.
“Robin! I got her scent!” Beast Boy said to the radio as soon as he transformed back to a human from a Bloodhound. “I‘m at the subway, hurry!”
Soon everyone was gathered around the opening of the subway. Cyborg flipped on the light on his left shoulder and the entered. Beast Boy transformed back into a Bloodhound and followed her scent. The anticipation of finding Starfire made the journey of a few minutes seem like hours to Robin. The trail went down onto the tracks and eventually came back to another area where the people would wait for the subway. Suddenly, they were at the end of the tunnel.
Beast Boy turned back to human and shied away from Robin. “Sorry dude, bad news.”
“What is that supposed to mean?” he demanded bitterly.
“The scent stops here.”
Robin slammed his fist into the wall as he yelled “Damn! We were so close!”
Cyborg looked around and saw that a huge chunk of the wall was missing, and not from Robin. “It looks like the flying disk trick was pulled again,” he noted.
“Well what are we supposed to do now? Search the city again?” Raven inquired. She hadn’t meant to suggest it, but Robin took it that way.
“That is exactly what we‘re going to do. Search the city, no alley that hasn‘t been searched.”
Raven grumbled, “I couldn‘t just shut up for once.”
Robin turned back to her and demanded harshly, “What was that?”
“Nothing,” she said and they all split up to search the city again.Converting /tmp/php9zkLaC to /dev/stdout

“Starfire, you can watch the girl while we search the city for evidence to prove her innocent or guilty. Call us if she starts trouble. We‘ll be back before nightfall.” With that Robin and the others left to search the city.Starfire walked into the room where Kara was being held and sat in corner in a chair. Kara opened her eyes slowly and blinked a few times to adjust her eyes. She sat up in her bed and looked around. She saw someone in the corner stand up and she leapt out of bed. The sheets flew up into the air, seemingly by themselves and landed in a heap next to Starfire.“Please, calm down,” Starfire begged. “I’m sorry, I did not mean to startle you.” She flew over to the light switch and turned it on.

“We should have NEVER left her here alone!” Robin yelled at the empty room where Kara was supposed to have been kept. It looked clean, like perhaps Starfire had just taken her into another room, except one thing. The wall that led to outside was missing completely.“Calm down Robin,” Raven tried to say monotonously, but in another room something shattered because of her distress.
