Fan Fiction ❯ Into Eternity ❯ Dragged into Reality ( Chapter 1 )

Eternity

of the Night

Silence. Silence so loud it was cause for insanity. The girl squeezed her eyes shut tighter... Such a place.. Heaven or Hell? Did she belong in either? How had this come about?right.. How long ago? A month? A minute? An Eternity.... That seemed about right..

It was a questionable thing. Humans always wanted to understand.. To know. And when they didn't they turned to a supposed "Higher Being".so many! There must have been thousands of gods and goddesses. Just naming all the religions in the world was nearly impossible, and all the gods and goddesses?just wasn't done.

Christianity. The biggest religion in the world. And she was forced to be part of it. Her parents had no clue that in the rest of the time she spent away from this church that she was one of Wiccan religion. They would be.. Preturbed. To say the least. today's reading is from the book of Matthew, chapter 7, verses 7 through 12." The preacher's voice threw her from her contemplation. Damn it.. So much for that train of thought. father elbowed her lightly, signaling that she was supposed to be getting out her bible and reading the passage along with the preacher (whom was now reading these words; "Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek and ye shall find...") Supressing a sigh she removed her bible from the bag that she carried it in, and looked down onto the page and 'read'. Or not. Her eyes were on the page, but her mind was far off...

A lightweighted elven girl with raven hair slipped through the forest, her hand on the dagger, and her black ooids sweeping the wood for any signs of that which she sought. mother and father were gone because of this demon that plagued the forest, and now she was out for revenge. She hadn't done anything when it had taken the other families, her friends.. Hell even the one she had promised to marry. No she hadn't fought anything then, but now her parents were gone. was what had brought her to the cave. She hated caves. Tight dark places. Damn caves. and closing her eyes tightly she called out the courage she had left (which was very little) and stepped into the shadows..
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
"Ow! Hey what was that for?!?" She hissed. Ouch. Back to reality. "You weren't paying attention to the sermon." Her father hissed back. "I was so!" the protest came back. "Even if I wasn't, how would you know?" Oh bad move. Her father was mad now. "Because, Taylor, you were still looking at the bible, and we stopped reading ten minutes ago." Crap. Busted. An annoyed face was made, and then she turned and looked back at the pulpit, and tried to pay attention for the rest of the service. Tried. Not succeeded. Preach about Hell, Fire, and Damnation, then preach about being saved by a loving god, that is at the same time vengeful and hateful. Then they claim otherwise. God? He loves you all! Right...question; If god created man on the sixth day, and animals on the sixth day, that hardly left time for the dinosaurs to survive long, now did it? Scientificly it was impossible. We had proof of dinosaurs, but we didn't have proof of God. Or Goddess for that matter. brought her back to her little "wiccan" religion. There was no proof of that either. But it made more sense then christianity. At least in her head. But her mind was a scary place (as was often joked about by her friends), and if it made sense up there, chances are it wouldn't make sense down here in the real world. Real world. Heh, that was funny too...
What? Music? Crap. Again. final hymn had begun and everyone was standing but her. She quickly got to her feet, though she was to late to avoid the "look-of-death" from her mom.Service over. Thank.. Well god would be a little redundant, now wouldn't it?knew what was next. Fellowship hour. A whole hour for her to eat cookies and glare at the little kids. That was always fun.
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
Car ride. Be poked by smaller brother. Murder smaller brother. Get in trouble. Again. Going for new record. Ha. What was that? Three times in church, three more in Fellowship time? Six.. Then two more on the ride. Eight times. How many more could she manage before she got home and got the 'talk' she had been promised. Haha. 'Talk'. More like sentence. Yep.. Grounded was on the horizon. Not that it mattered, nothing to really prevent her from doing, she did basicly nothing anyway.
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
"You've been acting strangely. Depressed. Not paying attention in school, not doing any activites outside, ignoring the rest of the world almost! We're your.." "Parents. I know. And you're here to help me." she finished the sentence with a dull and dead tone. Over and over and over. Couldn't they just leave her alone? Probibly not. "Don't talk back to us!" her father roared, obviously annoyed that she knew what he was about to say. Probibly thought she would just come out crying and spill everything like a five year-old faced with angry parents. Not going to happen.is that it? Can I go now?" she asked fake innocently. Her mother looked sickened by the dripping-with-sugar question of her daughter, but allowed her to be excused.

Taylor's dark eyes flicked around her room. The smell of paint was heavy as she had begun to paint her room black the day before. One-and-a-half walls were done. Her parents weren't aware that she had even begun to think of painting her room before yesterday, and the only reason they found out was because the family cat which was white had gotten covered in paint when she hadn't been looking. The poor cat had to be shaved to get the paint out.eyes fell onto her heap of stuff in the corner, which had been put there so she could paint; her books on wicca, her statues of Egyptian gods and goddesses, clothes, a lamp (which was broken), and other junk. She hated it. Hated it all. the religious stuff. Damn sundays, she hated going to church, it made her think about the existance of the world and where it came from and other things like that. Contemplation. Thats the right word, correct? She thought so. She hated that too. Then all of a sudden it seemed like the mirror of Horus the Hawk was watching her. Glaring at it, it seemed like it was glaring back at her. "I'm losing it. I know I am losing it." Turning away from the mirror she picked up a paintbrush and began on the wall. A few moments passed and she turned around to look back at the mirror, only to find that the statue of the cat goddess had moved. Or had it? It was away from the pile quite a distance.. But mabye it was there before? And the mirror was still glaring at her. This made no sense. Putting the paintbrush back down she edged toward her bed looking at the mirror all the time. She reached out to the mirrror and stared at her reflection for a moment, and her thoughts turned to her appearance. Sort of like a cheerleader that woke up one day and decided she wanted to be a goth. As much as she hated to admit it. Then it happened.. The image in the mirror began to wriggle and twist, and then in her reflections place was a large coal black eyed demoness, with large leathery wings and horns comming from her crainia. scream escaped her as the beast appeared where her face had been. Grabbing the nearest object (The statue of the cat goddess, which when she looked back on it, had been across the room moments before) she thrust it at the glass, shattering the mirror to a thousand tiny slivers and also breaking the cat statue in two.her breath she stared at the now empty frame of the mirror, all that was left was the hawk head on the top. The glass covered the ground near her feet, and she stepped back suddenly realizing that it was dangerous. Not only the sharp peices mind you, but she had a horrible fear that it would pull itself back together and she would be faced with the smirking demoness again.. Or worse. I am losing it.. Oh forget this. I'm going back to bed." The glass would be left for a later time.
