Chapter 3: Katen, the Tester

 

“I am” replied Roshika.

 

“Rank please” said Katen.

 

“I am rank... 17” replied Roshika.

 

“Liar. You took time to say your rank. Besides you've got a 6 guy team, only rank 10 and lower can have such a team. Tell me your rank!” said Katen.

 

“I am, 7” said Roshika.

 

“Worthy opponent enough” said Katen with a grin.

 

“We are going to Hi Go An” said Roshika.

 

“Now, I must kill you. To prove myself.” said Katen.

 

“Prove yourself...Why are you doing this!” yelled Shana.

 

“Shut up!” said Roshika.

 

“Why I do this... everyone who I confront asks the very same. I am a Numbus from Hi Go. One lucky night I had the blessing to confront someone higher ranked than me, and from another country. It was a high level battle. I defeated that someone. The feeling got into me. And I decided that from then on I would test any Numbus which I crossed paths with. To test myself and see if there was someone strong enough to defeat me. I am called The Tester, undefeated in battle” said Katen.

 

“Kids, go back.. even you Nyosuke. DO NOT INTERFERE!” said Roshika.

 

“I should ask for help... someway I must” thought Roshika.

 

“Come on, confront me!” said Katen as he hit the ground with his fist. The ground beneath Roshika began to split. Roshika jumped and moved away.

 

“What do I do..” thought Roshika. Then Katen jumps just above Roshika, he evades the attack barely enough. Katen keeps the assault going while Roshika keeps evading the attacks. Then suddenly Katen draws his sword making a quick slash that Roshika manages to avoid.

 

Roshika then jumps and extends his arms. He concentrates for a second and then from his hands he shoots lightning rays. Below Katen easily avoids them and quickly using his power raises a wall of rock in front of him. The rays hit the wall without doing anything.

 

“Electric vs. Rock... useless.. well then!” said Roshika with a grin as he closed his eyes.

 

“What is he going to do...” wondered Katen.

 

“Mansekyu!” yelled Roshika. Then putting his hands together he shot a a line of fire coming from his hands, but electricity surrounded the flames.

 

Katen closed his eyes and concentrated.

 

“HYAH!” he yelled. His sword began to glow blue and with a swift sword slash the sword shot a blue energy matter that had the form of the sword and it went straight towards the Mansekyu. Then the forces clashed. A huge explosion took place.

 

The kids were surprised.

 

“He stopped it dammit” thought Roshika as he landed to the ground.

 

Roshika then took the lead once more and shot another electric ray towards Katen. He made a rock wall rise again and the rays did not pass from there.

 

Suddenly Roshika appeared behind Katen.

 

“With that wall your field of view is blocked” said Roshika as he drew his sword and made a quick slash which injured Katen in the back.

 

“Damn you...!” yelled Katen as he drew his sword once more.

 

A quick sword exchange took place.

 

Katen then managed to push Roshika back.

 

“Wind Cutter!” yelled Katen as he extended his arm and shot air.

 

“Air cant be seen!” thought Roshika as he jumped.

 

The wind blasts hit the ground breaking it.

 

“He's a wind-ground type” thought Roshika.

 

“Bad Bad Bad....” said Katen with a grin.

 

Suddenly Roshika began to spin in the air.

 

“Hidden Air Tornado!” said Katen with a smile.

 

Roshika began to spin quite quickly.

 

After a few seconds Katen stopped the tornado and Roshika was shot to the ground.

 

Dirt and smoke covered his body.

 

Suddenly the Mansekyu appeared from the smoke.

“Dammit” said Katen.

 

Then he made the wall of ground rise again. It had over 7 layers of ground.

 

The attack hit the wall destroying 3 of its layers.

 

“Not enough” said Katen with a smile. But suddenly the wall received another impact.

 

“Energy Build Up: Closed Fist!” yelled Roshika.

 

The four layers of ground broke and the punch hit Katen in the stomach pushing him to the wall.

 

“WHAT!” said Nyosuke.

 

“Energy Build Up!” said Nakaru. “Wow” said Shana. “My teacher is that strong!” said Sandou.

 

“Damn you...” said Katen.

 

Roshika's hand was bleeding.

 

“I am not used to that kind of attack” thought Roshika.

 

“No one has ever given me a blow that strong. I commend you for that, but sadly now that I know the extent of your powers, I can freely show mine” said Katen.

 

“I need a few minutes to have enough energy for my doujutsu..” thought Roshika. A doujutsu is an eye-technique.

 

“We need to do something to advice the guards of Hi-Go that we need backup. The way I see it, Roshika does not have enough power to defeat this guy. And we can not fight, we are not up to his rank” thought Nyosuke.

 

“Now it is time.” said Katen while he grabbed his sword. It began to glow blue.

 

Meanwhile Roshika drew his sword as well.

 

“If I had known I was going to have such fight I would have gathered enough energy before this. I wont have enough concentration unless he gives me time. I know..” thought Roshika.

 

Meanwhile Katen put his sword above his head ready to do a slash.

“Do you want to have a better fight? One that goes to the extremes? Then grant me at least 2 minutes” said Roshika to Katen.

 

“I am not stupid. I know who you are. At first it was not clear, but now that I have looked upon you I very well know who you are. Roshika Katsuo right? And you are known in the underground world as The Dead Bringer. None have survived to really tell about it, but the ones who have seen they all talk about some weird eyes. I am not stupid. You want to gather enough energy to activate that Doujutsu, but I wont give you TIME!” said Katen as he made the slash which shot an energy wave towards Roshika.

 

Roshika jumped over the wave and attacked Katen with the sword. Katen easily blocks the attack. Roshika tries to hit Katen in the legs with his knee but fails, and in the process falls to the ground.

 

“GROUND: RAISE!” yelled Katen.

 

The ground beneath Roshika suddenly raised and hit Roshika in the stomach. Immediately a burst of blood is thrown from Roshika's mouth.

 

Roshika then moves away from Katen.

 

“Perfect” whispered Katen with a grin.

 

“GROUND PRISON!” yelled Katen.

 

Suddenly the ground around Roshika began to raise.

 

“DAMN IT!” thought Roshika.

 

Roshika then tried to jump but Katen appeared in front of him and shot a blast of air from his hand which hit Roshika straight in the face.

 

“Mine..” said Katen.

 

Then the ground along with rocks encased Roshika sealing him in a ball of rock and earth.

 

“Damn!” he said from inside the ground ball.

 

“TEACHER!” yelled Sandou.

 

“You are mine Roshika. That ball of rock and earth will slowly suck out all of your energy. You are encased in my energy so you cant use the matter inside that ball, and your energy will slowly leave you until you die!” said Katen with a grin.

 

“He's right, I cant form any energy from matter. I am trapped. It's been a long time since I have been in such a bad situation” thought Roshika.
