Chapter 7: Nyosuke's Past

 

Two days had already passed since the incident in Toka Pass. All of the guys are already out of the hospital and were going to meet up with Roshika in the Plaza.

 

“Wake up and put the stick down” said Shana as she woke up Sandou.

 

“Damn you and my stick...” said a drowsy Sandou. Usual morning stuff then. Bath, breakfast, stuff packing and then leave.

 

“Another sunny day!” said Shana. “Yeah.. yeah..” said a still drowsy Sandou.

 

They walked towards the Plaza and met up once more with Nakaru.

 

They finally reached the Plaza. Roshika, Samari and Neiki were already there. But Nyosuke was still missing.

 

“Hey, Nyosuke hasn't arrived yet, and he's usually the first one to arrive” said a worried Shana. “Maybe he over-slept?” replied Sandou. “Do not worry Shana!” said Roshika.

 

“Well, while Nyosuke gets here, I want to give you some great news: Today is our Anniversary! Our first one since we became a team! Yay!” said a cheerful Roshika.

“Yay..” said a sarcastic and drowsy Sandou. “You should be happy! In one year you got from 25 to 24! Wohoo! Great!” said an also sarcastic Roshika. “Erm...” replied Sandou.

“Actually, all of you will be promoted of ranks. Leader Tomoro wants to see you guys soon so he can raise your ranks and assign a new mission to us all, which I hope isnt to Toka or worst... somewhere far.” said Roshika.

 

“We are going up ranks?” asked Neiki. “Yeah, your courage in Toka Passage will grant you at least 1 extra rank. Great... maybe in a year you won't be my students!” said Roshika. “You really hate us right” said Shana. “Nah, I love you all!” yelled Roshika. “Yeah right...” said Samari. “No for real!” kept saying Roshika. “You still dont know what sarcasm is right?” asked Roshika. “Yes we know. Actually Sandou is the king of Sarcasm...” said Shana. “WHAT!” yelled Sandou.

 

“Wait.. did you say Mission?” asked Neiki. “Yeah, it looks like he will send us all to a mission to see if you guys are really capable of something. Or maybe then.. just study” replied Roshika.

 

“Teacher.. I am worried, Nyosuke still hasn't arrived” said a worried Shana. “Well, you guys want to go there to check if he's alright?” asked Roshika. “Yeah...” answered Shana.

 

“Well, then we are off!” said a cheerful Roshika. “Crap, going to a-hole #1's house” said Sandou. “Well, your sister is in love with that a-hole!” replied Samari. “Yeah!” said Nakaru. “Well, I don't really approve him. He's so arrogant..” said Sandou.

 

And so the team walked towards Nyosuke's apartment.

 

“AH-27... this is the room” said Roshika pointing to Nyosuke's room. “Yeah... fitting... it's AH... A-hole!” said Sandou.

 

Roshika knocked on the door.

 

“Open up!” yelled Roshika.

 

“THERE ARE PEOPLE STILL TRYING TO SLEEP YOU KNOW!” yelled someone from another room.

 

“SORRY!” he yelled once more. “JUST SHUT UP!” yelled the same person.

 

“Cranky people..” said Nakaru.

 

Then someone opened the door.

 

“Nyosuke!” said Shana. Nyosuke was severely drowsy, and could barely stand.

 

“What's happened to you!” said Shana. “Pass..” said Nyosuke faintly.

 

“Crap... now what happened to him..” said Neiki.

 

All 6 of them entered the room.

 

“I am sorry, I cant go to the next assignment with you guys. I am... depressed” replied Nyosuke.

“Depressed..” said Roshika. “Why...” said Samari. “Yeah..” said Shana.

 

“The battle at Toka Pass.. when Shana saved me it reminded me of some things that happened when I was little. They all popped out. I had locked them inside my brain but when Sandou yelled SISTER! They all opened back to me..” said Nyosuke faintly and slowly.

 

“Yeah.. now is my fault...” said Sandou. “Shut up!” said Shana.

 

“Nyosuke, tell me about what things you remembered. Tell us all, maybe we can help. Besides, talking about it with us will surely help you.” said Roshika.

 

“Fine...” said Nyosuke and then he started to talk.

“Father, have you called me?” asked a young Nyosuke as fell to his knees, face to face with his father.

 

“Yes, I have Nyosuke. The reason for this summoning is to bid you farewell to your Numbus training. You have quickly grown up. I still remember the days you could not even send a punch straight. Now, you must continue the legacy of our family. For generations we have had the superior fighters. Each of us have ranked over 6, the highest being the once leader of Hi-Go, Suke Hyogara. He was ranked 1 once. One of the Shirir. The one's who have gained a rank of number one. To this date, there have only been 10 Shirir, and Suke was one of them. Now my son, you must continue that legacy of the strongest family in Hi-Go: The Hyogara. Your duty is to continue that line and surpass the 6th rank. Your sister Nanda is already a Missioner. You must follow her footsteps. Now son, rise. Prepare for what lies ahead and keep the name of Hyogara always up.” said Nyosuke's father.

 

“Yes my father” said Nyosuke as he stood up.

 

Nyosuke then went out of that room towards his mom in the kitchen.

 

“Mom.. do you think I can keep up the Hyogara name?” asked Nyosuke. “Of course kiddo. I am sure you can. You have the potential” replied his sweet mom.

 

“But.. what if I die?” asked Nyosuke. “You will still keep the name of the Hyogara on top. Death is an honor, and those who die are ranked 0. So, you would still keep the Hyogara name on top” said his mother smiling.

 

“Oh.. Well, I'll do my best!” said Nyosuke smiling. “Make us all proud” replied his mom.

 

Suddenly someone knocked on the door very quickly.

 

“Gosh, who could that be” said Nyosuke's mom as she headed towards the door and opened it.

 

“Miss, I am asking for the presence of Hyriosuke Hyogara!” said the man. “Of course... Hyriosuke!” yelled the woman.

 

“What is it Shanda?” asked Hyriosuke, Nyosuke's father. “This man is asking for your presence” replied Shanda, Nyosuke's mother.

 

“Lord Hyriosuke! The Leader is asking for your presence, we are at war with the North.!” said the man. “So.. the war did materialize after all. Ok, I am going immediately!” replied Hyriosuke. “Hyriosuke!” said Shanda. “Shanda, take Nyosuke back to the shelters, I am going.” said Hyriosuke as he went with the man.

 

“Mom.. what war?” asked Nyosuke. “Come Nyosuke, quickly!” said Shanda.

 

The night was close to fall. Nyosuke and his mother were running towards a dome.

 

“Where are we going!” asked Nyosuke as he ran with his mother. “To be safe. We are going to that place to be safe!” said Shanda.

 

Suddenly a huge explosion took place and demolished a nearby building. The debris it caused fell in front of the dome and some of the pieces hit Shanda.

 

“Mother!” yelled Nyosuke. “Nyosuke...” said Shanda faintly.

 

Then a man appeared. He was a warrior of the north. He drew his sword out.

“Mom.. Mom wake up!” said Nyosuke as he kept looking at the man.

 

Then the man fell dead. “Mom!” said the woman, it was Nanda. “Sister! What is happening” said Nyosuke. “We are at war, come on I am taking mom to the hospital!” she said. “Ok..” said a worried Nyosuke.

 

They ran towards the hospital and finally reached it. Nyosuke was in the waiting room. It was full of people.

 

Nyosuke kept hearing bombings. He was growing nervous. “What is happening..” he thought. A few minutes later he decided to go out.

 

“Nanda still hasn't come back...” said Nyosuke while he walked in the barren Hi Go. He kept walking forward until he saw his father doing battle with a man in black robes.

 

“If I had just known it was you..” said Hyriosuke. “You did not know? It was expected.” said the other man in a faint, dark voice. “You are a disgrace!” yelled Hyriosuke. “Disgrace? Because I desire power? Because I want to teach my ways to others? Because I want to rule my own piece of land? Or do you call me a disgrace because I am far more stronger than anyone the Hyogara ever had! I am the ruler of the darkness, you stand no chance against my power!” said the man in the black robe.

 

“Ruler of the Darkness? You.. you DISGRACE! What do you want! Why are you taking this opportunity the North is attacking us to come here!” yelled Hyriosuke.

 

“It is time for me to come and look for apprentices. Actually, I am interested in some, specifically the ones who are.... Huh, who's there?” said the man in the dark robe.

 

Hyriosuke then looked towards Nyosuke who was hearing the conversation.

 

“Nyosuke! Go back! GO TO A SHELTER! You cannot be here! GO NOW DAMMIT!” yelled Hyriosuke. “Yes father!” said Nyosuke as he ran away.

 

Nyosuke kept running without knowing where he was going. Then..

 

He saw his sister fall near dead in front of him.

 

“Brother...” said Nanda to Nyosuke.

 

“Sister... what is happening!” asked Nyosuke. “Nyosuke, walk away.. I am not going to live. Dad has died, but Mom is alive. Go with her, forget about me. Just go away. We are being attacked... GO!” said Nanda as a tear fell down her face.

 

Nyosuke slowly walked away seeing her sister die. Then a man with a black robe that covered his face appeared and drew a sword out. He stabbed it in Nanda's chest. Then he pulled the sword out revealing a river of blood. He looked at Nyosuke. He walked towards Nyosuke.

 

“No.. No... NO!!” yelled Nyosuke. As the man got close to Nyosuke a huge explosion was heard. The man looked at that direction and then looked towards Nyosuke.

 

“Cherish your life...” he said with a faint, dark voice. Then the man in the dark robe walked away towards the explosion.

 

But then the man stopped. And stared at Nyosuke. “You will grow strong. But you are not the one I am looking for. You have the potential but the events you have just witnessed will change you from a happy boy to a sad, depressed boy which wants power so he doesn't die like his sister and father. You will grow scared of death, and that will be your eternal weakness. I know this, it's the human brain working.” said the man in the black robe as he left.

“And thats how I have grown. My mother died 3 years ago. She always cared for me and told me to keep the name of my family always up... But it's exactly how that man told me. Even if I look so strong, I fear death! I fear every second that I would die.” said Nyosuke as tears went down his chin.

 

“Don't cry..” said Shana as she hugged Nyosuke. “It's natural we fear death. We just don't want to let go of this life. Death is natural, no matter what, you will die” said Shana.

 

“I don't want to be killed...” whispered Nyosuke to Shana's ear. “Neither us want to be killed. Be strong, never give up and keep your training up. You will become a great warrior.” she whispered back to him.

 

Everyone else was shocked.

 

“Now that's a harsh life” said Neiki. “Yeah..” replied Nakaru.

 

“So, the always badass is just a whiny kid. He fears death and a warrior shouldn't feel that” whispered Sandou. “And you don't fear it” said Roshika. Sandou then looked at him.

 

“Do not judge others this way Sandou. Everyone fears something. And I know what you fear.. losing your sister” said Roshika. Sandou then opened his eyes.

 

Samari meanwhile gave some papers to Nyosuke so he could wipe out his tears.

 

“How are you feeling now?” asked Roshika. “Better” said Nyosuke. “See, told ya” said Roshika smiling.

 

“Now come, get something to eat, get a bath, get dressed and let's get going. The leader wants to see us” said Roshika.

 

“I am making the breakfast!” said Shana. “Then.. I should take a bath while the breakfast is done” said Nyosuke as he stood up.

 

“I don't know what she sees in him.” said Sandou as he stood up and walked outside. Then Roshika stood up and followed him.

 

“It's going to get ugly” said Nakaru. “Yeah.. why is Sandou like that with Nyosuke. He's just a boy with a harsh life, and his sister is in love with that boy. Why cant he accept him!” said Neiki.

 

“Sandou come here!” yelled Roshika to Sandou.

Then Sandou stopped.

 

“Your sister likes that boy! He had a life, even harder than yours!” said Roshika. “I doubt he had one as harsh as mine. At least he knew his parents. I never knew them. They just left me alone in this world. I grew up along my sister, alone with the help of others.” replied Sandou- “He saw his sister die in front of him. His mother died in front of him in a hospital. It caused a shock in his mind. A shock you could never experience. What Sandou, are you jealous that Nyosuke has more skills than you? Are you jealous that your sister likes a guy which you think of as an arrogant fool!” said Roshika.

 

“Teacher.. I.. I.. I.. I just don't like him! I don't like him as my sister's boyfriend! Why couldn't she just like Neiki!” said Sandou.

 

“Love works in a way we don't imagine. I can tell you that. Just try to accept him, work with him!” said Roshika.

 

“I will NEVER accept him! I can work alongside him, but I will never accept him no matter what” said Sandou as he walked towards Nyosuke's room.

 

Roshika stared at him and followed him.
