Chapter 11: Battle against Kemdal

 

 

“Who are you?” asked Roshika.

 

“My name is Kemdal. I have been sent to eliminate you, and avoid any further trouble from you” said Kemdal. He was a man, a bit chubby. He had a metal armor, and the plates on his shoulders had spikes. He had gauntlets as well.

 

“Tell your master that what he has done is a bit dumb. He has told everyone that the Emperor has been trapped. That was kind of stupid if you ask me” said a confident Roshika.

 

“My master knows what he is doing.” replied Kemdal.

 

Then Roshika began to think.

 

“I understand now. He wants the Capital for a Military Strategic Position. People will flee away from the Capital, leaving it for him. But what about the Capital Army?” said Roshika.

 

“You are asking too much for a man that's about to die” replied Kemdal.

 

“Damn, we don't have much time. Every second we lose is a second we will need for saving the Emperor” thought Roshika.

 

“I will fight him” said Neiki as he stepped ahead the team.

 

“Neiki, come back here!” said Samari.

 

“No, we need every second we need. Teacher Roshika, please go ahead I will take care of this fool. I will defend my country” said Neiki with a serious look.

 

“Are you crazy? You can't battle this guy alone” replied Roshika.

 

“Please Teacher. Let me help. This battle could last a long time, and that time is needed for saving the Capital and the Emperor” continued Neiki.

 

“You are not ready for this!” said Roshika.

 

“Teacher, do you think I don't train with my father? He's one of the greatest fighters of Hi Go, and I will continue that legacy. They all defended their country when needed and now I'll do the same. Please, teacher go, I ask you in name of the Kurogane family” said Neiki.

 

“Neiki Kurogane... Fine. But you better come back alive.” said Roshika.

 

“Thanks teacher” replied Neiki.

 

“Teacher! Are you crazy!” said Samari. “No, I am not. Let's get going now!” said Roshika as the team passed by Kemdal.

 

“Don't think you will get ahead too much. I enjoy every fight, even a single and short one. Go ahead, I'll catch with you guys later” said Kemdal with a grin.

 

“Come” said Neiki.

 

“Fine... I'll finish this up quickly” replied Kemdal.

 

Kemdal jumps. Neiki stares at him. Meanwhile Kemdal does a mid-air spin.

 

“Wind Punch!” yelled Kemdal.

 

He extended his arm and a blast of air was shot from it. Neiki evades the attack while it hits the ground. Kemdal then lands.

 

Neiki then attacks Kemdal right on. He does a kick which is easily blocked by Kemdal. Kemdal then grabs Neiki's leg and tries to throw him towards a tree but he isn't able to.

 

“What?” said Kemdal as he looked towards Neiki's other leg in the ground. Rock was covering his whole feet.

 

Then the rock went away and Neiki jumped and with that other leg he kicked Kemdal straight in the face, letting go at the same time of the other leg.

 

Kemdal quickly reincorporates and looks towards Neiki.

 

Kemdal then does a strong, swift punch surprising Neiki. Neiki puts his hand in a Cross way, like an X. The punch hits Neiki in the arms and is pushed back towards the small wood that surrounds the mountain. It was dark.

 

Suddenly Kemdal appears and jumps above Neiki. Neiki evades the attack and does a kick which is quickly blocked by Kemdal. Neiki quickly gets his foot out of Kemdal's grasp and moves around him but Kemdal surprises him by doing a twist in his body, with the elbow ready to hit him. The elbow hits Neiki and sends him straight towards a tree.

 

“WIND PUNCH!” yells Kemdal. He extends his arm and another blast of air is thrown. The attack hits Neiki straight on, breaking the tree that was holding him as well.

 

“That ends one pest” said Kemdal as he smiled.

 

But suddenly Neiki stood up. Most of his shirt was torn in pieces.

 

“The Kurogane family is specialized in close combat fights” said Neiki.

 

He moved a bit forward and the moonlight showed a thick armor, in form of chains, that protected his body.

 

“That's why we have made a way to make strong punches weaker. I always use a shirt because of the heat caused by this thing. So now, let's resume this” said Neiki as he put his hands on the ground.

 

Kemdal opened his eyes widely.

 

“Rock Needles!” said Neiki.

 

From below Kemdal sharp rocks, in forms of needles appeared. Kemdal jumped and avoided the hits but Neiki had already jumped and headed towards him. He prepares a punch from behind and then releases it. It hits Kemdal straight in the face throwing him towards the ground.

 

“Rock Needles!” said Neiki. The needles appear once again from below Kemdal and this time they hit him. But instead of passing right through him they only raise his body.

 

“I also have a thick armor in my body. Small, sharp rocks like these won't penetrate it” said Kemdal with a smile.

 

“Damn.. I forgot about that” thought Neiki.

 

“Double Wind Punch!” yelled Kemdal as he extended both of his arms and two blasts were shot from his arms.

 

“Crap... ROCK WALL!” said Neiki as he put his hand in the ground.

 

The ground raised and made a wall but the impact was too strong and broke the wall in pieces. It then hit Neiki and threw him away. He made a jump while sliding in the ground and managed to stand up.

 

“The wall made the impact weaker. Now.. it's my turn” thought Neiki.

 

Then he used his strength and stopped sliding in the ground. Then he jumped as high as he could and began to roll mid-air and extended one of his legs.

 

“The spikes” thought Neiki.

Kemdal moved his right shoulder so instead of being hit by the leg, the leg would hit the spikes.

 

Then a strong sound was heard.

 

Neiki's leg had managed to find position between the spikes, managing to get unhurt.

 

“WHAT!” said Kemdal.

 

Neiki twisted his leg and broke the spikes. He then jumped away from Kemdal.

 

“A boy with some nice ability. I thought Hi Go missionaries were weak, but the way I see it.. you are quite a spirited boy. Sadly, I have a task to do, and I need to finish that task. Kiddo, prepare for your death” said Kemdal with a grin.

 

Meanwhile Roshika and his group kept going farther. Suddenly Samari stopped.

“Why do you stop!” said Shana.

 

“Master, I am going back” said Samari to Roshika. Roshika stopped and looked at her.

 

“If you go as well, I will be called a lousy teacher.. but then again, I guess you love that boy” said Roshika with a smile

 

“TEACHER!” yelled Samari as her cheeks got red.

 

“Samari, if you go, please do come alive and bring him. I don't think that Neiki can battle that guy alone, honestly. He's strong, and he comes from one of the top clans in Hi Go. But, this is a true fight, one on one. His first in a serious way. So do go and help him, but come back” said Roshika.

 

“Thanks teacher!” said Samari as she let a tear go down her cheeks.

 

Samari then turned back and left running.

 

“Teacher, are you alright with this?” asked Nyosuke.

 

“I know what my team is capable of. Now let's keep going, we are reaching a good spot” said Roshika.
