Fan Fiction ❯ It´s all in the past ❯ Sinclair ( Chapter 2 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
It's all in the past
She loved, she lost, she cried, she shut down. She was lost, with the love of her life gone forever, her heart shattered in a million pieces. She left her friends, transferring to another school, in hopes of getting another chance to live again, without him... She doesn't want people to know about her past, but when they do, what will she do? Will she run again, or will she accept that she can't run anymore?
Just as a warning: no problems if you wanna flame - I had to learn it with one of my other fics... -, just don't be cruel. Honesty is okay by me, but not cruelty.
PS: Sorry, in advance, about grammar and spelling mistakes. English is not my first language, and I sorta have a mental block when I write in the said language... Especially because, no matter what language I'm writing in, I tend to write too... Right. Annoying? Not to me, anyway...
PS2: Just to give a heads up: no point in commenting on the names - characters, places, acts, the story itself -, 'cause I know I suck at naming, so...
PS3: If I mess up any of the names - if I ever happen to mention any kind of pop/rock music singer/whatever or anything that is WAY out of my area of expertise (example: high schools and boarding schools - and american school in general - I just don't really get... Plus cars and motorcycles)-, do forgive me and please, review and help me improve and take the mistake out of the story. Just to make things easier, I might just make up stuff, such as cities (not small, by the way), fashion stuff and such.
PS4: Light (at least I think it is so) swearing, okay? But only probably.

Act 0002: Sinclair
Kyle Blake was, at the moment, annoyed.
It was eleven thirty, Saturday morning, at his old friend's house.
And... Why was this young school paper editor annoyed?
Because the one person he wanted to see that day was not there.
>Where the hell is she? She was supposed to be here already! Ah, fuck... Hum... But I get to go pick her up...>
"Hey, welcome!" - his friend said, cheerfully, and Kyle rolled his eyes. He could be so happy sometimes... Just like when they were little kids...
"Thank you" - said a soft and calm voice, which made Kyle turn instantly, seeing Dawn McGowan right there, being greeted by his friend, the host of the party, Tom Sinclair, a tall young man, with 1,87, golden hair and emerald green eyes. Handsome in a slightly delicate way, Tom was very attractive.
"Hey, Dawn" - Kyle said, trying to sound nonchalant, though he thought he'd failed, since the girl raised her eyebrows a little and Tom hid a smirk.
"Hello" - she greeted him back.
"So... What took you so long?"
"Nothing important"
>Damn you, Dawn, and your fuckin' short replies> - "Eh... So... Did you bring a... Eh... You know... Bathing suit?" - >Red, bikini, God, be good, please!>
"Of course" - she replied dully, as if she were silently calling him stupid for asking such a thing. He blushed hard and laughed nervously.
"Eh... I'm Tom Sinclair, by the way" - Kyle's friend said - "Your host today"
"Dawn McGowan, nice to meet you and thank you for having me" - she said, very politely. The green eyed boy noticed how she'd hidden her eyes from him, and raised his right eyebrow, curious.
"Right..." - he looked at Kyle, and mouthed: 'Her eyes!'
'Just ask her to keep eye contact' - Kyle mouthed back.
"Eh... You know, Dawn, I like it when people keep eyes contact while I'm talking to them, so..." - she sighed and lifted her eyes, of a beautiful and shiny light blue and very dark green - "Wow... Nice eyes...!"
"Hum"
"You know, Dawn... I think I know you from somewhere, though I don't know where..."
"Ah..."
"Do YOU know me from somewhere?"
"No"
"Sure?"
"Very"
"Hum..." - he kept on eyeing her, and she kept on looking straight at his emeralds. He blushed, once he was not very used to having girls with such beautiful eyes staring at him emotionlessly.
"Hey, Dawn, why don't ya enjoy the pool a lil', before lunch?" - Kyle asked, blushing hard, trying to picture the girl in the red bikini he was wishing for so badly.
"Hum..."
>God, I'm gonna kill her soon if she doesn't say more than five words to me!>
"Where can I leave my things?" - she asked Tom, turning to him.
"Wherever. Hum... Maybe on those chairs..."
"Thank you" - she said, plainly, and walked to the chairs. Tom got closer to Kyle, who watched the girl walking (NOT in a perverted way, just to see her without getting caught by her!).
"She's the one you were so damn anxious to see?" - he asked. Kyle turned bright red and glared at his friend.
"I wasn't all anxious to see Dawn"
"Oh, you were, my friend. But..."
"Yeah, it's her" - he seemed very embarrassed - "Don't mock me, Tom"
"I won't, I promise. But... Uh, you sure know how to pick, huh?
"I know she's kinda... Weird, but..."
"You're all about the weird and different, aren't ya just...?"
"Shut up"
"But, seriously, what do you... Oh, I get it now..."
"What?"
"She might not have the best personality ever, but... Wow"
"Huh?"
"Idiot, look back" - and so, Kyle did. But just to blush madly.
For the first time ever, he saw Dawn in something other than pants and sweater - which was what she always wore, even during PE, when girls usually wore shorts. It wasn't a red bikini, but it was good enough for him...
She was wearing a dark blue two piece bathing suit, not exactly a bikini, and not as small as one. But she made it look real good. And Kyle was now aware, very aware, of how much her plain clothes hid...
"Nice rack" - Tom commented, snapping Kyle out of his staring.
"Shut up"
"But it is! Huh" - he watched her putting on some sun block on her arms, and smirked - "Why don't you go help her out, Kyle?"
"Huh?"
"She'll need help to put the sun block on her back, after all..." - he kept his smirk on as he watched his friend blush furiously.
"Fuck you, Tom"
"But it's true...!" - Tom chanted - "Or... You'd rather if someone else did it? I could help her out, you know..."
"No!"
"Then go, you idiot" - he murmured, pushing his friend. He looked back, glaring at him, but turned his eyes to Dawn, now standing up and putting sun block on her thighs and lower, kinda... Bending. He gulped, already very blushed, and walked to her.
"Hey, Dawn..." - she straightened up and looked at him. The sun made her eyes look even more beautiful... - "I... I was wondering if you... Needed help... With your back. I mean, with putting sun block on your back"
"No"
"Yeah, right"
"Hum..."
"Want me to help?" - she raised an eyebrow at him, and, wordlessly, gave him the bottle and laid on the chair, with her back up, of course. Kyle looked at her and gulped again and tried to calm himself.
He put some of the white substance on his palm, and, nervous, he put it on her back.
When he felt her warm and soft skin, he instantly calmed, passing his hands up and down her back. She didn't move, nor flinch, so he smiled softly and continued.
"Finished?" - she asked, bored, after about ten minutes with the boy putting sun block on her back. He blushed hard and got up. She sat on the chair and looked at him straight in the eye.
"Sorry, I..."
"I appreciate your help, Kyle" - she said. He smiled, embarrassed, and nodded.
>Stop with the flushing, already, God! You're so fuckin' obvious...!>
Smiling innocently, Kyle went back to Tom, who laughed silently of his friend.
"Shut it"
"It's funny"
"No, it's not"
"It is, Kyle. You, all flushed and embarrassed around a girl..."
"Shut up!"
"But, body wise, you sure know how to pick. But, seriously, personality wise... Wow, what a bitch"
"Don't call her a bitch"
"Uh..."
"Don't!"
"Fine, fine... So..." - Tom faked a sweet voice, like a girly voice - "Have you told her how you feel?"
"Tom, my friend, I love ya, and my fists will too pretty soon"
"Got your point, but...?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Okay, not that shit now, 'cause you've already said you were waiting anxiously for her"
"I...!"
"You said so, so you can't deny now"
"Fine" - Kyle mumbled.
"So... Kyle Blake, the same guy who said would never fall for a girl... Has fallen how many kilometers for miss McGowan?"
"Tom! She'll... She'll hear you"
"Yeah, yeah. But... Oh, so cute, man! You're all in love!"
"Tom, shut up!"
"You are SO in love! Man... You never fall, but when you do... It's a pretty ugly fall, my man"
"Want a black eye or a broken nose?"
"Both, but only after you admit you're in love with her"
"I'm not"
"You are"
"Not!"
"You ARE in love with Dawn McGowan" - Tom repeated, slowly, as if trying to get each and every word through Kyle's thick skull.
"Fine!" - Kyle hissed, his face totally red - "I am, so what?"
"You're so cute, Kyle"
"And you're a fag"
"No... If I were, I wouldn't have screwed girls, I'd have screwed guys, Kyle. BIG difference there"
"Now, listen to me, Tom, you're gonna be with us starting Monday, so if you happen to feel the urge to tell Dawn about me, DON'T, okay?"
"Oh, and unable you to tell about your feelings in the most romantic lil' shitty way possible? No way, man"
"Fuck off, Tom!"
"Young sir, lunch" - the maid said, hiding a grin. Tom smiled to her, telling her with it that she could smile if she wanted to, and so she did, getting a glare from Kyle. She cleared her throat and left.
"Lunch, guys!" - Tom exclaimed, the teens leaving the pool quickly, most of them wrapping themselves in towels. The ones that didn't simply wanted to enjoy their bodies all wet (mainly guys)...
Kyle watched as Dawn got out of the pool slowly, walking to her chair and getting herself a towel, soon drying her whole body and hair... And she let it loose right then. Kyle felt his face warm, but still didn't look away.
Dawn's eyes were now of a light violet, with hints of dark blue. She finished drying herself and put on a jeans shorts. When she looked up from her things, she saw Kyle looking, staring at her. She narrowed her eyes slightly.
>He's gonna get himself hit pretty soon...> - she thought darkly and annoyed. She quickly walked to the table, Kyle finally moving, sitting just a few moments before she did. Tom cast them knowing smirks.
"This's so good!" - one of the girls cried.
"The cook's real good" - he said, politely. He looked at Dawn, for some trick of destiny, next to Kyle, who was next to his friend, Tom being on the head of the table - "Hey, Dawn..." - she looked at him and raised an eyebrow to show she was listening - "I DO know you from somewhere, now... Where..."
"I don't think so" - the girl replied, coolly.
"No, I'm kinda good with faces... The hair... The eyes..." - he furrowed his eyebrows for a moment, before opening a big smile - "Of course! You're Emily and Sam's only daughter!" - the girl widened her eyes, dropped her fork and knife and stared at the boy - "You are, aren't you? I didn't get to meet you, 'cause when we went to your house, I didn't go, and when you guys came here, you didn't come... But my sister went on and on about you" - Dawn turned her eyes back to her plate, but seemed unable to eat again - "and how you had the best clothes and whatever... And, of course, there was my brother, yapping about how hot you were, and that he was gonna try to ask you out and all..."
"Ah..."
"But... I'm kinda curious, Dawn... That's not the name... They didn't say your name was Dawn..." - she looked at him, her eyes blank, cold and dark green - "Eh... They said your name was... Angelica...?"
"Dawn... Is my middle name" - she replied, looking deeply into his eyes.
"Angel! That's how they were calling you!"
"Nickname" - she mumbled, getting back to her plate, and actually starting to eat again.
"And, of course... The lastname! Why aren't you using your family's lastname? I mean... McGowan can't even begin to be as good and strong as your actual lastname"
"McGowan's my mother's lastname"
"Oh... Right. But I still think that your actual lastname..."
"I don't care about what you think" - she snapped, her eyes black, entirely, and narrowed - "I don't use my first name nor my lastname for personal reasons, so knock it off, THOMAS Sinclair"
"Eh... Sorry" - Tom said, almost sheepishly. He watched the girl's eyes turning soft violet, and return to her plate.
>She made Tom shut up...! Man! Okay, I've fallen even more for her...> - Kyle thought, amused. He smirked at his friend, who playfully glared back.
Throughout the entire meal, the teens talked happily, but Dawn remained quiet, and was pretty glad no one was paying attention to her. Or, so she thought...
Because Kyle kept on looking at her sideways...
The afternoon was as hot as it could get, although it was October (just to check: it's kinda cold during the said month, right...?), teens playing and swimming and basically having a great time.
But Dawn was not included.
Why?
Well, because after lunch, she'd become quieter and even more silent, staying away from the pool. And the others, of course.
>Ah, come on, Dawn...! I wanna see you in the water...!> - Kyle thought, almost whining to himself - >And you look SO good...! Of course, it's not the red bikini I was asking for, but just as good. Ah...! Dawn, Dawn, come on!>
"Aren't ya gonna swim, Kyle?" - a girl asked him. He shot her a glance.
"Nah... Not in the mood..."
"Ah...?"
"Hum... But maybe..." - he grinned and got up, going to Tom, who was drinking some nice and cold juice - "Tom, get people to do a lil' competition"
"Huh?"
"A diving competition, that is"
"Why?"
"Well, I just... It's fun!" - he was bright red.
"Hum... Oh, I'm so stupid... You wanna see your lil' love jumping, huh?"
"Shut up, Tom"
"You're so hostile when you're all in love, Kyle, seriously!"
"Shut the fuck up! And do what I said, will ya?"
"Okay, but only 'cause you're an old friend, 'cause otherwise, seriously..." - Tom grinned at his friend and walked near the pool - "Guys! And girls, of course, how 'bout a diving competition?!" - they all cheered, and he looked over his shoulder at Kyle, and mouthed: 'Go get your girl'. Kyle blushed slightly and gave his friend the finger. Tom didn't care.
Kyle breathed hard a few times, and looked at Dawn, reading a book. He snickered slightly and walked to her.
"Hey, Dawn..." - he said, and the girl lifted her eyes, of the same soft violet from lunch time. He smiled fondly - "How 'bout it?"
"What?"
"The diving competition"
"So?"
"Aren't ya gonna try?"
"No"
"Why not?" - he demanded.
"I don't wanna"
"Please...?"
"Stop whining" - he blushed hard, but smiled at her.
"So...?"
"No"
"Come on, Dawn!"
"No"
"But..."
"Leave me alone"
"Nope"
"What?"
"Not gonna do that"
"I see..."
"I just wanna see you diving, God damnit!" - he snapped, glaring fiercely at the girl, who looked back at him coolly as always.
"Hum..."
"I mean..." - he started to blush, realizing how he'd just acted.
"Are YOU gonna dive?"
"Eh... Yeah"
"Ah..."
"So? Are you gonna..."
"Okay" - she put her book down and got up. Kyle couldn't help but smile, though, as he thought, she didn't respond to it. Instead, she undid her shorts' button, and let it go, and the piece of clothing went all the way to her ankles, exposing her bathing suit completely again. She bent a bit to get her shorts out of her ankles, and Kyle gulped and widened his eyes, trying not to look too directly at her cleavage... Which he couldn't do... He looked VERY directly at her cleavage, and quickly looked away when she raised.
>I'm a pervert, God, I am, punish me right now... But... Wait, no, don't... Just punish me AFTER you let me see her in a red bikini... It's all I ask for!>
The teens had cleared the pool, and watched as, one by one, some tried their luck and fell from the board (the diving... Stick...? Piece of wood, metal...?), some gracefully, some... Not so much.
"Go, Dawn" - Kyle said to the girl, who rolled her eyes slightly, and went to the tall ladder.
"Let's see if your girl's any good" - Tom commented, making Kyle blush.
"Shut the fuck up"
"Nope"
"Asshole"
"Thanks"
"Uh!" - >I can never win against Tom!> - he watched Dawn already at the board (...), looking dully at the pool below her. Kyle felt his heart beating hard in his chest, as he waited for her to come down - >Please, God... Don't kill her...>
And to the surprise of everyone present...
Dawn came down gracefully, seeming to be a true professional...
She was...
Amazing!
Everybody clapped like crazy, some cheering loudly. Tom included. Kyle, however...
Just stood there, not knowing what to think, do or say.
Dawn got out of the pool, and stared at Kyle, right in front of her.
"Weren't you going to dive?" - she asked him, calmly.
"What...?"
"Dive"
"Oh, right... No, I don't..."
"Idiot" - he heard her murmur, as she walked away from him. For some reason he couldn't quite understand himself, Kyle smiled.
"You girl can be pretty feisty when she wants to, huh?" - Tom commented, smirking.
"Tom, have I ever beaten the crap out of you?"
"Hum... Not that I can remember... Just a few weak punches and kicks, nothing much, really"
"Then, if you don't shut your mouth, I'll sure hit you to the ground and THEN beat the crap out of you"
"Whatever, lover boy"
"Tom!"
"What?"
"How we turned out friends, is beyond me..."
"Not me... You're the shy lover boy, I'm the cheerful supportive friend"
"Shut up!"
"Yo, bro" - Tom turned around, as did Kyle, finding a guy even taller than himself, with 1,94, golden hair too and light green eyes. Very handsome and built. Ethan Sinclair.
"Hey, Ethan. Remember Kyle, right?"
"You've grown... Not so shortie anymore..." - Ethan commented, smirking the same way Tom did. Kyle glared a little, and shook his hand.
"Yeah..." - he remembered how Tom had said that Ethan thought Dawn was hot and was going to ask her out, and kinda glared harder.
"Huh? Hey, it's Angel!" - Ethan said, happily, and going to the girl, dry and reading her book again. Kyle watched the boy with angry, pissed grey eyes.
"Don't get all worked up, man" - Tom assured him - "Carrie told me Ethan got nothing from her the other night, so it's not very likely that he gets anything from her now"
"Whatever" - he mumbled, not really listening, and simply focusing on Ethan, sitting on the edge of Dawn's chair, the girl glaring a bit at him. This made Kyle a bit happier and calmer.
"Why don't you just fuck off, Ethan?" - Dawn said, glaring at Ethan - >He can be more annoying than Kyle...>
"Well, Angel, it's 'cause you're so fucking hot, and I won't give up until you agree on going out with me"
"Give up"
"Will not"
"Why?"
"I've already said, Angel... You're fucking hot, and I'd sure love to... Go out with a girl as hot as yourself"
"And fuck me"
"If possible, yeah"
"Not gonna happen, so give up"
"Nope"
"Leave me alone"
"Hum... No"
"Now'"
"I am a persistent guy, Angel"
"I give you that much, at least"
"Come on!"
"Did you know that it's pathetic for a guy to beg for a girl to go out with him?"
"Of course I do, but do I care? Not really"
"I can see that. I was only commenting" - she got up, and the boy followed.
"Just a date, Angel. Just one!"
"Hum..." - she smirked, the first time she'd ever done so ever since she got into Brensor High, and bit her lip in an adorable way, as she turned to Ethan, who grinned, slightly surprised with her sudden change of attitude - "You see, Ethan... You're really very hot..." - she fingered his chest, looking at it as she did so - "But..." - she looked at him in the eyes, hers of a lively azure blue - "You see..." - she started to whisper in his ear - "I'm a virgin... And I promised myself I'd only give it to a guy I was truly in love with and that..." - she stopped with the whispering and smirked at him - "Wasn't a spoiled lil' fag" - she suddenly hit him on his... Well, sensitive parts, and walked away. Ethan bent and fell on the floor, obviously hurt.
"Oh my God...!" - Tom was basically rolling on the floor due to his laughter.
The youngest Sinclair boy and his old friend had seen everything that happened between Dawn and Ethan, and both were pretty amazed to see the calm and cool girl hitting Ethan that way.
Kyle had a big smile on his lips as he looked at his love interest, as he also tried to ignore his friend's loud laughs.
"Will you shut the fuck up already, Tom?" - he asked his friend. Tom couldn't hear him, though, and Kyle sighed, smiling back at Dawn, who, at that same moment, looked straight at him.
Their eyes locked in a moment Kyle couldn't tell how long lasted. He looked hopefully at her gentle features, her eyes, of such a shiny and light shade of green it was possible to see it from afar, her hair, still down, falling as wild cascades down her shoulders and further. He'd never noticed how long her hair actually was...
Then... He looked at her mouth, and longed to kiss it softly, and then passionately. He flushed hard, but didn't want to look away from that beautiful creature that he'd almost just realized how much he wanted...
>His eyes are too alike 'his'... But he'll never be...>
>God, how can I... Someone that I don't even know...?>
>Why does he look at me...? Doesn't he have anything better to look at...?>
>God, I wanna kiss her!>
>I hate him...>
>Fuck, I love her...>
>I hate you, Kyle... I hate you!>
>I... I love you, Dawn...>
>I hate you... Jason...>
>I love you so much...>
>Burn in hell, Jason!>
>Damnit, she'll never let me in...>
>Jason...>
>Dawn...>

>Damnit, she'll never let me in...>
>Jason...>
>Dawn...>
