Journey of Hope
Written by VegetandAru (lord of the underworld)
Everything is my own, Please be nice as far as criticism goes, however if you do have something about it that you don't like then don't flame, just tell me about it if you would.
This was written quite a few years ago now, but I just stumbled across it on my hard drive and I've began to patch it up, it's still not finished but I'm working on it.

Zak dived to the ground as a heavy battle axe flew passed the side of his head, just narrowly missing his ear, so close that the blonde could hear the rip of air as it sliced through the atmosphere.
He let out a terrified yelp and scrambled up quickly, boots slipping without any grip on the dry ground, getting to his feet he wasted no time on swinging round and racing flat out towards his friend, grabbing Trayant's outstretched hand and pulling himself up onto Tomato's downy back.
"Go! Go! Go!" He wrapped his arms around the other boys waist, petrified as the huge bull like creatures began to advance on the three of them.
Digging his heels into the half bird half big cat's side, Trayant clicked his tongue and pulled on Tomato's reigns. She swished her sandy gold lion tail frantically and opened the tremendous eagle wings to an impressive 8 meter span, beating the air twice with tremendous force before the ground lurched beneath them and she rose steadily into the air.
One of the minitors gave a bullish grunt, the ring through its nose swaying slightly, and swung the heavy battle axe around its head as if it was nothing more than a stick it'd picked up off the ground. Then with one last thunderous swing it released the axe and set it flying, slicing through the air as it spun quickly towards the griffin and its riders.
Tomato gave a petrified squawk and tried to pull up out of the axe's path as the minitor who had thrown it thumped back down onto all fours. The stubby hand like front feet unsettling the dust on the ground which fell in a golden snow storm to land in the minitors fine black fur coat. It blinked long lashes to keep the dust out of the demented red eyes and watched in anticipation as the axe sliced through Tomato's left wing.
