"W- what d-do you w-want? Money? Weapons? Food?" gasped the village chief. He was a pudgy man, well fed for a human mortal. He had shaggy brown hair kept in a tidy low pony tail like most of the other men on the continent of Clade. It was such a shame such an obviously prideful man now groveled at the feet of a demon.

The demon looked down at the inferior being. Ruby red eyes mocked the poor being into fear and anxiety. The said eyes scanned the crowd for victims. The foolish villagers had come to see what was happening, a decision they will undoubtedly regret. The bloodied eyes of the monstrous creature settled on the slim figure of a boy. Not too young, but old enough to be coming of age soon. Six months away perhaps. The demon pointed with armored hands. "Give me that boy and I may spare your village" it hissed.

Whispers shot through the anxious crowd as four rather large men dragged the squirming boy to the front. Once there they threw him to the feet of the demon. "How quickly you humans turn on your own" it said sadly looking down upon the angelic figure.

The boy struggled to his knees watching with wide eyes as the village chief was thrown three yards behind him. His golden hair was bound behind him like the others except for his wild bangs. The demon kneeled and raised his chin with it's hand raising his face so their eyes could meet. It was an awkward moment. The two sets of eyes bore into eachother until the younger looked away with a heated flush.

"Boy, What is your name?" The demon asked in a feminine whisper.

The boy looked back surprised at the new tone. Surprised that beneath the armor and the shadowed hood it was a woman. He had never heard of a female demon before. "Titus....My name is Titus" he whispered. From behind him he their were screams. "Keep your hands off my son!" wailed a restrained woman.

The demon looked up and helped the boy up. "Shut your mouth you filthy wench. He is no longer YOUR son. You gave him up. Like I said before, how quickly you turn on one of your own. Is this the teachings of your precious gods and lords of light? For your quick judgment I will destroy you all. And not just the village as was planned." the now clouded demonic voice raised above the others.

The village chief sprang to his feet. "But you said if we gave you Titus, you would spare the village!" he exclaimed. The demon laughed. "Foolish mortal! You misinterpreted my terms. I said I MAY spare the village. I never said anything of the villagers. But I have decided, since you so easily discard one of your own. You are all condemned to hell to repent!" The demon countered. Then to the horror of the villagers the ground beneath their feel began to glow with runes.

"Stop it!" Titus shouted hitting the woman's armor. "Please! STOP!" he pleaded. The ruby eyes looked down on him. A soft ungloved hand touched his cheek. "Titus, why plead for their lives when they have cast you out? They turned on you with out second thought, no one even asked to be taken in your place. See how false your friendships were?" she said in a soft caring whisper.

Titus looked back at his village and his eyes looked at the faces of his burning friends. They had gotten what they deserved right? Their looks of torment should be good enough satisfaction for their ultimate betrayal. What of his mother, She spoke out but she did not offer herself in his place. Titus looked down his fists so tense his knuckles were white. Tears dropped onto the ground as soft as rain though his arms remained at his sides. "Titus........as long as you stay with me I shall not betray you. I will keep you safe." she said as she placed a detailed armlet upon his wrist.

The demon removed her hood to reveal the seriousness of her words. Titus was slightly surprised even though she was the only demon he ever saw. Normally one would believe in today's world that demons were all hideous monsters with slimy fangs and lizard heads....something gruesome along those lines. At least That's what the teachings of Falmour suggest at. If that was wrong.... then what now? His eyes burned in every detail of that deeply tanned face. She obviously came from a Southern land with her dark complexion and her lustrous pale blonde hair. The eyes and her lips were unnerving. Two ruby red eyes and a set of blue lips. Lips the color of the sky. She looked almost surreal to him. "Something wrong Titus?" she asked with a small smile as she stood normally again.

The boy winced at his name outwardly. "Please... don't call me that anymore....I don't want a name given to me by them" he pleaded in a soft whisper. The woman put her hand on his shoulder."Then I shall call you Mitsu....it means Light." she said happily. "And you can call me Rhett."

Titus nodded. "Titus will remain buried with these people then?" he asked hopefully.

Rhett nodded. "come, we must destroy the seal and begin your training.....Mitsu..."
