Sheik looked at Soowe's lifeless body, wondering if there was any activity going on in her mind. He stroked her deep purple curly hair and placed a kiss on her forehead.

Link didn't know what to think. He's never seen Sheik display this kind of emotion…this affection for anything before. It seemed so unlike him…Not that Sheik was cold, no, that wasn't the case at all. Link had just never seen Sheik love…assuming that's what this was.

Reepe sensed Link's uneasiness and picked up his hand. She held it tenderly.

Softly, she told him, "It's okay. Sheik'll be fine. He just has something for Soowe."

Well, that answered all of Link's questions.

Soowe gasped.

Every one turned to her.

And like a fish out of water, Soowe struggled to fill her lungs with air.

Sheik felt her heart start again. He clutched her reanimated body tightly.

Soowe found the air she needed and breathed again.

"Sh…Sheik…" she murmured.

"Shh. Stay still. I'm here," Sheik responded.

Soowe pulled herself up to a sitting position on Sheik's lap and draped her arms around his neck, placing her head on his shoulder.

Reepe, strangely touched by this affectionate gesture, stood up and motioned for Link to do the same.

Link looked at her curiously for a moment, but her eyes urged him on silently.

He did so hesitantly and together they left the meditation room, Reepe shutting the door behind them.

Tears began to slide down Sheik's smooth face.

"Don't cry, Sheik…" Soowe whispered in his ear.

Sheik didn't respond, but made a voiced sigh and continued to hold her tightly.

"Oh, god, Soowe…I love you so much…I thought you were gone…Don't ever do that again…"

"Shut up, Sheik," Soowe said, not really meaning it.

Sheik pulled her gently off of his shoulder and just looked at her for a moment. He put his hands on the sides of her face and brushed her soft, warm skin with his thumbs. He brought her fair face to his.

She kissed Soowe passionately. <A/N: I'm in my happy place, right now. Oh, Sheik, you love muffin.>

He crushed her body against his and indulged himself in the taste of her kiss. He knew a love for her that he had never known before and he wanted to be with her forever.

And Soowe knew this. But as she understood his thoughts, his feelings, the same inevitable sadness overtook her. She wanted no longer to realize that once Dath came and swept away Reepe and herself, they would be no more and Sheik would take her place.

Her slight, premature brush with death had set her mind straight and she knew how it would go, just like a hundred thousand million people before…

But Sheik didn't know how she felt.

But she wanted this. This perfect moment with a lover. Her lover. It was all so pure to her.

And Sheik and Soowe continued their embrace, their kiss.

Reepe paced.

"Why…" she muttered to herself, "why did that happen? It's not supposed to be like that…I don't get it. Dath? For just Soowe? No…I don't think so…"

Link just couldn't take his detachment anymore.

"What the HELL just happened in there?" he blurted out and banged his fist on the wall, lowering his head.

Reepe, slightly astounded but his outburst took a moment before responding gently.

"Link, calm down. I'll tell you everything," she sighed. Sitting down on the worn carpet, she began.

"Soowe just got touched by Dath. It was just a brush, but Dath is strong. But I don't know why," these last few words were accentuated, not angrily, but frustrated.

Link listened distantly to her words and they registered somewhere in his brain, but he was paying more attention to Reepe herself. The was her lips moved was intriguing to him. The way her eyebrows turned up towards the bridge of her nose made him feel warmer inside. And those eyes…deep, green-gray eyes were complemented by her chin-length red hair that was cut just so it flipped out on the ends…

"and I just…Link? Link, are you paying ANY attention to me??"

PRONOUNCIATION! I know some of the words in here are kind of oppy, so here's a guide of my words:

Soowe = So

Reepe = Reap

Lieffe = Lie-ef

Dath…oh, come on. PLEASE tell me you can figure that one out.
