Fan Fiction ❯ Lieffe and Dath ❯ Come Abrine ( Chapter 9 )
A figure. Just before Reepe. Dressed in pure white. Short hair, dark blonde in color. And eyes…Eyes like burning coals. Bright red. Strangely beautiful…
And as frightening as this person was, she made Reepe feel a strange calm…
Reepe looked around. She was standing in the middle of a flat, bare dessert, the ground like a massive jigsaw puzzle, with lines and cracks everywhere. A few dry-looking plants poked up here and there made the place appear more desolate than it should have.
The sun beamed down on Reepe. It felt warm and soothing on her shoulders…
And without moving her lips, the figure before her spoke to Reepe.
"Abrine."
The sun began to shine brighter.
"Abrine."
It felt hot, and slightly painful.
"Abrine."
It was blinding.
And another voice, disembodied, invaded the white figure's, soft at first, then louder…
"Reepe…"
"Abrine."
"REEPE…"
"Abrine…"
The white figure's voice began to fade…
"No…No, wait…" Reepe muttered.
"Abrine…" was only a whisper.
"REEPE!"

"GOD DAMN IT, REEPE, WAKE UP!"
Reepe's eyes snapped open, and she began to cough.
Link released her shoulders, which he had been shaking, and sat back as she came to.
"What…"
"Reepe…" Link sighed.
Reepe rubbed her eyes, and rubbed her neck, moaning.
Link hugged her tightly, catching her off-guard, and she looked shocked for a moment, before embracing him as well.
"Oh, God, Reepe, I thought I'd lost you…"
"What happened?" she whispered into his ear.
"You just…passed out. Fell backward. And you were shaking, and rubbing your shoulders like they hurt…" Link sighed. "I was so scared…"
Link kissed her on the forehead and continued to hold her.

Soowe gasped.
"What is it? What's the matter?" Sheik and his paranoia responded before his brain had a chance to comprehend.
"Not much time left," Soowe said, putting her hands on the side of her face.
"How much? Do you know?" Sheik held her from behind in her protective manner.
"Six…Only six…" Soowe whispered.
"Six days?" Sheik said, panicky.
Soowe began to cry, and through her tears, she sobbed, "Six hours."
"No! This can't happen! You're…You don't deserve this!"
"The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long, Sheik." <A/N: I took that from a movie. I'm so unoriginal.>
Sheik turned Soowe around.
"There's nothing we can do?"
"There's nothing we can do."
Sheik wanted to cry. He wanted to cry so bad…But he had to be strong for Soowe.
She held him and cried on his shoulder.

Reepe sat silent. The morning sun was bright over Gerudo Valley. Only 4 hours remained. <A/N: Yes, I screwed with the passage of time. It's my story.>
Link was thinking. Thinking about how little time she had left. It would be senseless to leave Gerudo Valley, now. They wouldn't make it anywhere in four hours. But here, at least, it was quiet.
Reepe began to tilt her head from side to side, and hummed softly. It was the same song Link had hummed to her just yesterday. She didn't know what it was, but it had stuck in her head as though it had had some deep meaning. She began to sing her own words to it, in old Sheikan, and Link looked up at her, watching.

Soowe was sitting in the grass, on a small hill just behind the house. Sheik was right beside her, holding her hand. Soowe's knees were pulled up to her waist.
She was muttering the last few lines of the poem in the old book to herself…
"Takes your life, takes your tears, takes your life, takes your tears…"
She said it over and over again, softer and softer each time.
"Soowe," Sheik interrupted her silent recital.
She turned and looked at him without a word.
"I love you."
"I know." She responded.
Sheik wanted to take her seemingly fragile body into his arms, and kiss her tears away…But it didn't seem right. Or more, it didn't seem proper.
Soowe leaned back on the grass and stared at the sky. It looked like she was staring passed it. Like she was seeing something no one else could. It made Sheik feel small…Insignificant.
"Sh…Sheik?"
"Mhm?"
"I love you too."
<A/N: Well, this is just turning into one big sappy-ass romance novel/short story in Zelda format. But oh, well. That big, big, great, spectacular, massive chapter I promised? It'll be up probably around July 13th-14th. Maybe 15th, if I'm feeling lazy. That will also be 3 other things. A) One month to my 14th birthday (August 16th.) B) The next chapter C) The last chapter. Yep, you heard right. The LAST chapter. `.^ Ooh, I'm evil. It's probably gonna be upwards of 6 typed pages long (but I'm not making any promises). Oh, and just so you know. Abrine is pronounced `uh-breen'. Just for the record. After I'm done with this…I dunno. I'll probably stick to Aftermath and Ace of Spades (though that's almost done, too.) till those are done. Anyway, all for now, see-ya!>
