Fan Fiction ❯ Light of the Star: A Forbidden Love ❯ Desert Rose ( Chapter 1 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
The desert sun hung high in the sky all alone besides a cloud or two, The Sharp cry of an eagle
high above broke through the silence of the huge sand dunes. Down below there was a small, red
stoned city and a large red ruin at the back. In front of the city was a large wooden door with two guards pacing in front of it. They
were wearing a plain dark armor, they seemed to have their guard down.

Good.

In amidst the sand dunes a teenage boy lurked around silently. He had brown hair and icy cold
blue eyes. He was wearing a simple, green chest armor and a black bodysuit underneath it. He
drew a large sword at his side and charged at the guards attacking them by surprise.

One of the guards also drew up his sword and pounced for the young boy, but he dodged it and
sliced his sword into the guards back.

The second guard still totally amazed that such a young boy could be so fast, quickly drew up a
sword and tried the same thing, but this time he blocked the boys attack with his sword

but the boy was too strong and sent a quick burst of energy through his sword and into the
guards braking it instantly, he then quickly knocked the guard down.

Finished with his job the young boy sighed with relief and looked at the large wooden door, on it
there was a few symbols inscribed.

Sabaku Village

He went to open the gate, but without him noticing, the second guard stirred, still half
unconscious, he pulled out a dagger and jabbed it into the boys chest. Knocking him out cold.

~*~*~*~
The young boys eyes blinked open, He was inside.....Nothing? ?

He was completely surrounded by darkness......all alone...or at least....he thought. Then he heard a dark, secretive voice from all around him

" Yoru-kun......"

The boy spun around startled

"Who's there?" He replied coldly

"Yoru-kun....." It sounded again this time much harsher and dangerous

The young boy, Yoru, Suddenly felt the room around him melt, and his ears started to ring, getting louder and louder, the room around him begun to become covered in blood, The ringing became worse and worse, And then he heard the voice again, this time thraetening, Menacing and dark. A Voice that was almost a hiss

"Yoru Akurei.................Release your true form.......................there no need to hide .................You cannot escape what you are................and what you will become...."

The ringing inside Yoru's ears became sharp and painful and he clenched his head in his hands

"No....no....." he said slowly

Then the sounds of millions of screams could be heard

"Oh but you will....In time, you shall see....."

Suddenly, yoru felt a stinging pain from his chest, it got worse and worse. He knew what was happening and was powerless to stop it.

Just as he was ready to give up, he felt something cool and moist reach him, and all the pain, the blood and the voices were suddenly gone, But he could hear an echoing voice

"Soon Yoru........Soon.....You will belong to me once again...."

~*~*~

Yoru's icy blue eyes snapped open, he was laying down. His wound was all bandaged up and cleaned and a moist towel was in his forehead.

He looked around, He was inside a large redish orange yellow ruin of some sort. Most likely the ruins he had seen from one of the sand dunes. Hi was lying down in a blanket on the ground, just as he was about to stand up he heard a soft female voice coming towards him. She was singing in a foreign language:

" Ja estava escrito,
no tempo epaco,
que a minha alma e tua uma luz seriao.
Ja estava escrito,
Pelos mill-"

Then he saw the owner of the voice, a young teenage girl about his age.

She had long lavender hair in a braid at her back and soft lavender eyes that shone concern. (Something he had not seen....Ever, at least, not for him) She was wearing a lavender strapless top, which showed quite a lot of her stomach, with pearls dangling from it. Her long lavender skirt consisted of many lavender veils.

Like the translucent-opaque one she used to cover her face. It dangles from a string of lavender beads and went from an earing in her right ear to a lavender gemstone which hung from a chain in her forehead right above her nose, to her left earing. Covering many of her feature including her nose and mouth

She put down a tub she held filled with water and rushed to his side, pushing him from a sitting position back to lying down

"You must not try to get up You have lost a lot of blood in that little fight you picked with the guards "
She said concern fully

He stared at her in total disbelief, why the heck did she care?? He thought He sighed

"I Must not waste any time, I am looking for the fire temple and its priest. You can either tell me where it is or get out of my way " he said harshly

But that didn't back down the girl, her eyes starting to show the same arrogance that his did.

"Hmph You are in NO shape to face the challenges of the fire temple, and, what makes you SO sure it's a priest, not a priestess????" She said angrily

"OH Please I have'nt got any time to waste arguing with a girl of the desert whom
has no idea what she is talking about " He said matching her angry tone

The girl growled "WHATS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN??"

they both death glared each other and lightning bolts shot from each others eyes, until Yoru backed down and attempted to get up

"See I am In Just as good a shape a-"

When he got halfway up he felt both his legs go numb and fell back, then the girl leaned to him. He couldnt see her mouth, but judging by her eyes he could tell she was grinning mockingly

"Yaha. I Can see in what fine a shape you are in Now if you want to beat the desert "Priest" or whatever, you must be in good shape. Why don't you rest, Ill go out into the market and bring you some food and in the morning you can go to the fire temple and get your behind kicked as much as you want" She said mockingly "Oh and by the way my name is Bara Sabaku, whats yours?"

"Yoru Akurei" He replied with an even toned voice.

A small village laid in ruins, some small houses still set ablaze, other lay merely as a small pile of rubble and rock
sky was a blood red and the clouds jet black. In amidst the ruins a boy in his teens walked around, grinning evilly. His eyes showed fierce passion for the massacre that had just occurred,

long dark robes blew softly in the wind, showing a bit of his demon wings from his back
it was all because of him. That made him proud, made him hungrier for more, more destruction, more death, more power.

" Soon...." he thought "My brother and I shall find that light, and when we do..."grin twisted in darkness, he continued walking until a girl walked up to him.

had long brown hair tied up in a secure ponytail and deep purple eyes. She was wearing a shortskirt and on her chest she was wearing an purple armor.

"Sir, Our computers have found no signs of the light, but they have found this" she said, desperatelyto hide how scared of him she truly was

boy, kurayami, looked at the girl, his leading general, in total disatisfaction, But the corners of his mouth twisted into a smile as he internally fed off of the fear his leading general was emitting from her aura without knowing.

"Well? What is it?" He asked impatiently The girl soon snapped out of her trance and searched inside a small pouch she had in her belt until she found a small scroll. She felt relieve overwhelm her as she saw that he was somewhat pleased.

"Hmm" he said, deep in thought "this is in the ancient language..Get our scientists to see if they canthis as soon as possible" he said in a commanding tone of voiceas the young girl was about to rush off, Kurayami stopped her

"Oh, and Gather your troops. I Have heard there was a small disturbance in the Sabaku village, Our little friend is paying a visit, and If I know him, hes somehow still alive."

"I have been meaning to collect the fire talisman for a while now, so Why don't we pay him, the fire temple and that beautiful young priestess a visit" He said, Grinning

girl saluted and ran off

then walked over to a small pile of marble rubble and to the corpse of a young boy(eek) in blue robes, tearing out a small necklace around the boys neck, dangling from it a Small blue stone.

Village which lay in ruins was once the Umino Village

pile of rubble was once the great Water temple

young, dead boy, was once The powerful Water Priest.

that small blue, the water talisman, had been the cause of all of this.
