Chapter 7

After Shook

The next day Kenna woke and sat bold up. She had no idea what had happened last night. Had she really stood in Prince Zukos arms and stared at the stars. Know it seemed kind of like a dream, but she knew it wasn't. What had come over her, why did she let that happen… how could she let that happen. `It's so wrong… it's not right!' She told herself in shame.
`So then why did it feel so not wrong and so right!' that came from the back of her mind.
`I… was confused. It was the new moon and I really didn't want to be alone.' She told herself.
`It sure was nice of Prince Zuko to keep you company then.' Kenna was now pasting back and forth inform of the bed, arguing with herself.
`Yeah well he probable could feel that I was pain.'
`You weren't in pain; you're never in pain, even on the new moon.'
`Well maybe Prince Zuko was lonely too.'
`Or maybe he likes you and you like him back.'
`Why would a Prince like me, I'm not… I have nothing.'
`What does he have?'
`Well if he gets the avatar, a whole nation'
`You're not shallow like that. But you do have the avatar… Aang is your friend.'
`That's it, see, he doesn't want me, he wants the Aang.'
`Funny I thought he was holding you last night not Aang.'
`Well, I can't get him the avatar. I don't even now if Aang is coming for me.'
`My point.' Kenna couldn't think of anything to retort that.

Meanwhile Prince Zuko was walking back and forth in his room too. He was arguing with himself over that night as well.
`I never should have done that.'
`But you did, and you liked it.'
`I may have held her, but I never liked it.'
`You can't lie to yourself! You did like it.'
`Well only because…'
`You like her… and she likes you back.'
`Why would she like me?'
`You could have your on nation.'
`She isn't shallow like that! She would never like me.'
`Then why did she hold you back.'
`She hardly held me.'
`So, she still did, and she did push you away.'
`Well she was cold.'
`Oh, that must be it, she hates you but let you hold her because she was cold.'
`She can't like me I… I kidnapped her!'
`You took her from the man who killed her parents, sent her cousin home, bandaged her arm, gave her a nice room, gave her good food three times a day, and held her doing a cold night.' He had nothing to say to that. But luckily there was a knock on his door, and his uncle came in smiling.
“Good morning Prince Zuko, did you Talk Kenna onto the deck to get some air last knight?” Iroh seemed friendly, but had he seen.
“Yes.” Prince Zuko said shortly. He prayed that his Uncle handed seen him holding Kenna, he could never had explained it.
“Good.” Iroh was staring at his nephew. He had come up to the deck last night to make sure Prince Zuko had taken her up. He had hard there short conversion and seen him wrap his arms around Kenna. He had thought that it was very cleaver for a boy, who spent most of his time around men, but then maybe he didn't plane it; either way Iroh wouldn't let his nephew know that he had seen them.
“Is there anything else Uncle?” Prince Zuko was getting annoyed.
“Yes, I was just going to ask Kenna if she would be joining me for tea, do you wish to come so you can make she her arm is healing right?” Iroh was having a heard time not laughing.
“Um… yeah I'll come.” Zuko had come every other time and didn't want to look suspicious. He was really not looking forward to the awkwardness that would come with seeing Kenna though. But he went and knocked on her door guest like he did every other day. Then just like every other day he heard a “yes” from inside. And just like every other day she was sitting and staring out the window.
“Will you be joining me dear, for lunch today?” Iroh asked as she smiled at them.
“Yes, that sounds good.” Kenna waved as he left. Then she was alone with Prince Zuko. This was going to be really awkward. Kenna prayed that Prince Zuko wouldn't mention last night; she still didn't know how she felt about it.
“Is your arm doing okay?” Prince Zuko asked just like always. Then, just like always, he sat in an arm chair.
“Yep, it's healing very nicely.” She smiled, it was incredible, they weren't talking of the night before but it was still one of the most awkward moments in Kenna life. And Prince Zuko was feeling really awkward too.
“Good, I'm glad.” Prince Zuko could hardly look at her. But even as he did all he could think was how beautiful she was.
“So will we reach Highrik today?” Kenna was staring at him, he was looking at her differently, but it was a nice look. And as she stared at him she found that even with the scare he was really handsome. Not just handsome, but really handsome.
“Yes, we're making good time. We should get there sometime after lunch.” he was still looking at her differently; it was really distracting, Kenna just wanted to sit and stair into his eyes. His beautiful hazel yellow eyes, which were staring at her, with such... lust.
“good.” was all she could think to say. But she smiled at him and when he smiled back her heart stared to race.
“Um… I'll try to get you some woman clothing too, I can image that the cloths you have on are… awkward.” Then Prince Zuko thought `come to think of it, I can image everything about you is feeling a bit awkward'. And just about everything about Kenna was feeling awkward and she wasn't the only one who was awkward.
“Yeah.” Kenna laughed. It was a real laugh, which surprised both Kenna and Prince Zuko. Kenna was feeling so weird inside she didn't think herself capable of laughing. Zuko on the other hand was surprise because his heart started to thumb very quickly and his stomach felt sick.
“Well I have worked to do.” Zuko said standing up. “I won't see you at lunch I have to prepare for the stop at Highrik. But I'll see you tonight… if you still want to go outside for some air.” He felt so embarrass, he couldn't take it. The embarrassment had rushed through him along with a feeling of fear she would say no, but she smiled at him.
“I do.” She answered shortly, she felt they same things he did and could find anything else to say. But he smiled at her and her heart started racing again. But she smiled to him as he shut the door.
`What is wrong with you?' Kenna asked herself.
`nothing wrong our just in…' but she didn't let herself finish it she just looked out the window and tried not to think of prince Zuko, but the harder she tried the more she failed.

Prince Zuko went up to the deck, he was distracted though. His uncle could see and couldn't help but laugh. So Zuko had himself a crush. That should be good for the boy. A good was to get his mind of the avatar and onto thing most teenaged boys thought about.

When lunch came Iroh went to get Kenna. When he unlocked the door and let her out he found she had a very lost look on her face. And when they were talking she looked like she might blush every time he said Prince Zukos name.
“Thanks for telling Prince Zuko to let me out for a little while at night.” They were nearing the end of lunch and she still wanted to thank him for helping her.
“Your very welcome, but it just my idea. Prince Zuko was more then happy to take you out. Did you have fun last night?” Iroh loved this small power, but he really wanted to see if she was just as willing last night.
“I really enjoyed the fresh air, I haven't had any is so long.” She picked her words very carefully. He smiled at her.
So the feeling was mutual. She sounded like she really did like the night.
“So I take you'll accompany Prince Zuko to the deck tonight as well.” This was what Iroh had really been waiting to ask.
“Yes.” Kenna answered, Iroh smiled.
“Well are you ready to go back to your room.” And they headed to her room.

A while later she could feel the ship slow to a stop. She could see a little bit of land out her window. Kenna heard people moving around, everything outside her looked door was very busy. Then about three hours later maybe more, they left. As she looked out the window she could tell the sun was going down, Prince Zuko would come soon.
There was a knock on her door and Zuko came in with her dinner. He gave her some close that he had bought in town, and then left so she could change. The cloths he bought he looked just like her old ones, only the color was richer. It looked better then her old cloth did, it fit her better, her skin cooler looked better next to it.
She ate her dinner in silence and when she was done. Prince Zuko came back. He looked at her in her new women cloths. She was more beautiful then ever. And his heart started to face and it didn't slow until the next morning.
He led her to the deck. To the very spot they had stood last night. Kenna put her hands on the railing; she was cold but didn't shiver. She felt Prince Zuko stand very close next to her so close that they were touching. Kennas didn't look at him her heart started to speed up again. she just stared at the sliver of moon that was coming up. She felt him put his hand on hers, whether it was an accident of not she didn't know, but he didn't move it. Kenna twisted her hand upside down and laced her fingers through his, and she could feel his hand tighten around hers. Then the warmth came back and she didn't want to move… ever.
