Fan Fiction ❯ Maho Tenshi ❯ Instintics and Diciples ( Chapter 5 )
(I might be jumping ahead a few months in the next chappie, for reasons you'll see then, but don't worry, it will not be confusing or anything...atleast not more so then normal.)
Chapter Five- Instincts and Diciples
Aaruko looked out across the Evena Plains toward the dim, far off, glow of purple-blue lights. Even with his sunglasses off and his eyes strained, he could barely see the flashes, meaning the first blow had to have been powerfull to have reached as far as the school. But he knew somehow, that the blast wasn't nearly as powerfull as it should, and could have been. Not if whom ever had Called Fourth the Diciple which he knew had been done, had wanted to do more damage.
Aaruko sighed and slid his glasses back on. So, he could remember this, another little thing to add to his frightening small collection. Other than instincts he didn't understand, red eyes and loss, and knowing things the teachers taught in class right off the bat, he was memory-less. At least now he had one more thing to shove into his brain. Diciples. Mirrior images to Ancients summoned by a select few, ledgendary beasts most thought of as just that. Legends. He knew better.
Diciples were real, just few in number. Powerful enough to destroy almost everything if the chosen so wished. What he didn't know was how he knew this. Or how come he felt like he should go to where the blasts had taken place, and why on Altron's great earth did he feel like something bad was going to happen. Fuck, why did he have to have loose his memories?
Sighing, Aaruko leaned against the railing of the stairs leading down from the school's main doors. Should he go? What would it do? By the time he got there, whom ever had torched the town would be long gone, it was even farther away from Gehere city, just in the oposite derection, he'd need a car and two days to get there. Then again, nobody would really notice if he left the school for a few days to go check it out. Next to his teachers, and Chikara and Ronai, nobody really ever paid him any heed. And he liked it that way too.
"Can I get any more fucked up?" He asked, a slight feeling of de-ja-vu falling over him at the words. "I don't think so..." He closed his eyes and sighed again.

"Wake up, yer gonna fall" It was more the being shaked then the voice that stirred him to wakefullness, one hand coming up to cover his mouth as he yawned, the other to scratch at his head. Had he fallen asleep leaning against the railing? He couldn't blame himself after last night.
"Ya know, yer the only person I knows that can fall sle'p standin up like dat." The voice, familiar as his own, stated more then questioned.
Lifting up sunglasses to rub at sleep filled eyes, he turned around. "And you're the only one whom would dare wake me up, so it's even." Normally cold, stodic voice filled with mild humor. "Well...there was someone else, but not anymore" The last bit was said as an after thought.
"By da An'chants ya ain't gonna start yer brooding dis early are ya? If sos, I'm going ta go back tah my room." As if to stress his point, the speaker backed off a few steps, boots clanking against wooden floor boards.
Turning around, the male prevously sleeping gave a frown to the other male. "I don't brood, you just think I do." He said, voice slipping into it's naturally unemotional tone as he pulled some strands of his hair that had fallen out of his pony tail back into the elastic, keeping his shorter bangs free to hide his face even more than the glasses already did.
Honey colored eyes shined with amusement. "Lets add dat arguement ta the Gin n Tonic list. Tits ta early ta be fighten over stuff wive ya, specially when ya 'ven't eaten yet." The comment earned him a snort and a not too gentle swat upside his cherry-blonde haired head.
"Then lets go eat and get some tonic, Dar, I'm in a argueing mood right now." Picking up a blueish colored sword which had fallen from his grasp in his sleep, walked past the other male. "Tell the cooks to bring me my food in my room, and come by yourself, we have things to talk about Vandare." He called over his shoulder.
Vandare snorted. "Wha'ver ya say De, wha'ver ya say." He looked over the railing at the plains the ship was lazily floating over, nowhere to go with no orders, content to hover around, low enough to see the ground, high enough to not be seen. "Yer an odd man Deago, very odd." Tucking a few strands of cherry blond hair behind his ears, the tanned male turned to go off to the kitchens below deck.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Which brings us back to the fact, Diciples ARE Ancients." Deago said, taking a long pull of a bottle of gin and tonic in his hand.
Vandare sighed and shook his head, Deago wasn't drunk, Deago was always looking for a good, heated, disscusion. He liked speaking his mind, but few people trusted him and would agrue with him in fear of their lives if they said something wrong. Not him though, he knew how to say and when to say what around Deago, it was why he was the man's second in command, along with a few other reasons, all others military based of course.
"Dey ain't Anceints De, der just spirit dingys dat looks like Anceints and 'ave so o their powers." He said as sternly as his accent allowed him to, swinging his own drink, which was the same one he had had for the past half hour, unlike his boss whom had gone through eight bottles. 'Damn his amune system.' Vandare thought to himself. "Ya dink dat Draygoone 'imself fly's away from da Holy Land gates tah do yer bidding like a dog?"
Deago snorted, but didn't reply, instead, he got a thoughtfull look on his face, making his companion groan. Vandare hated it when Deago started thinking, or brooding as it could sometimes be called. "You know, someone once said the same thing to me...well, almost." Deago mused outloud, but it was more likely said to himself, not this cherry-blonde companion.
"He said, this person, I think about two years back, he said...'You don't truly think that Gyrise and Draygoone would do things for the likes of us, come off their thrones in the holy land to smite are enemies?' But he was asking if they would, not chidding me for thinking so." Deago gave Vandare a crude smile.
"Well, I'm is as daft as ya are if he thought dat they did, 'speacally if he thought Gyrise did, ain't he da An'chant of Pride and Lonelyness, as well as wind?" Vandare told Deago.
Deago frowned, eyes narrowing, pupiless and whiteless pools of blood unhidden by sunglasses tossed aside by where Vandare sat on the bed. "Yah, he is, pride and lonelyness..." Something told Vandare that there was a hidden meaning behind those words, but he let it slide, there were somethings even he'd get his head chopped off for doing, and pressing Deago about his past or his inner thoughts and feelings was one of them.
Deago shook his head, hair brushing at the waist line of his white baggy pants, freed from its elastic prison sometime ago when Deago had found the elastic too tight and himself too lazy to put a less tight one in. "Anyways, either way, they look like anceints, so that's that. " Deago's voice was full of dismissal on the topic. "Now then, do you know what his precious head of Omeaga Army & inc wants us to do next? Floating is fine by me, but I do have to report to my Mistress if and when I have time off." Deago asked, standing up from his chair across from Vandare and walking over to the case on his dresser holding his blueish colored weapon.
Vandare sighed, Deago was in work mode, which meant no more semi-friendly chit chat. "Mr. Omeaga has put us on stand by 'till he tracks dawn da next of da reball groups in da area, 'im doesn't want tus ta move Misterol any fat'der den the east coast or the Mountians in the west, so 'less yer imfamous Mistress 'as moved ta the Evena Contient, yer stuck three 'underd feet 'bove ground De."
Deago sighed. "Well, guess I am huh...."
Long weird chappie huh? Main point is to get to know Deago and Van better, as well as learn more about the Diciples and Anceints. So far, the anceints that have been mentioned are:
Gyrise, Draygoone and Altron. There is five others, since there is 8 intotal if you count Altron, who is actually the, like, main one. PS- Thanks Peaches, luv ya ~.^
(It seems that my chappies are getting longer each time I put a new one up...weird hun??Oh, and this is not a pointless chappie, some of this stuff will be important later, nothing in this story is pointless....except for the writting of it on a whole..)
Ps: Thanks to all my prevous reveiwers, and even more thanks to Peaches, my lovely Beta Reader. ^^
Chapter Four- Dance to Rebellion
Aaruko watched as Ronai 'danced' with some girl from his War History class not to far away from where he stood. They'd been at the dance for about an hour, and though it had its downsides, it wasn't to bad. There was lots of punch, which he was certain had been spiked since he could taste rum in with the strawberries, and good music. Though the music was starting to annoy his acute hearing. The best part of the night so far was that nobody had asked him to dance yet. Yet.
As Aaruko was growing to learn, yet's, so far and hopefully didn't go so well with him. It reminded him of the saying, though he couldn't remember where he'd learned it. 'If it benifits me, it's not to be.' He was leaning against the wall of the school watching the people dance around the lavishly decorated room when a unfimilar cherry blond waltzed up to him.
"Hello." The girl said to him with a small smile, long eyelashes fluttering. "Care to dance?" She asked.
Aaruko bit back the urge to tell the girl to go dance the fuck back to the brothel she belonged in, but Ronai had made him promise when they had got to the dance to behave. He settled for just ignoring the girl's question all together. Crossing his arms across his wife-beater covered chest, he continued to look over at Ronai and his partner.
Unfortunately, the girl was undetered. Tossing some of her hair over her shoulder she moved so she blocked his line of sight. "My name is Julie, whats yours?" Julie said, trying to sound sweet and innocent. Her mini skirt and almost see through hulter top said otherwise though.
Again, Aaruko wanted to tell the girl to fuck off and give her a hard knock upside the head....to bad the school didn't permit fighting outside of the training rooms and such. So, with a tiny growl, and the feeling that his eyes were glowing bright enough to be seen under the sunglasses he almost always wore, he turn to look over at the buffet table. Like hell would he look at the she-bitch infront of him if he could help it.
Still Julie remained undaunted, she was showing that blondes really were too stupid to take a hint. "I've seen you hang out with Ronai and his cousin before.....Chikara, the girl thats graduating this year. Do you know them? I think Ronai is cute, your cute too you know that."
Aaruko growled again and spun around to face the idoit, fuck Ronai and the little promise, this girl was annoying. He was about to open his mouth to tell the girl where to go, how to get there, and that she should enjoy the ride, when he saw a semi well known, soon to be savior approching.
"Hi Aro, there you are! I was wondering where you got off to luv" Chikara gave him a hug and turned to face Julie. "Men these days, always running off on you" She said shaking her head in mock distress. Aaruko was suddenly glad that he had put up with Ronai and Chikara for the past month, they did make great fail safes in this sort of situanton....though he could have done without the hug.
Julie blinked a few times, brain trying to process the stuff in front of it. "Um..yah..sure..I got to go...." With that, she was gone, walking off towards another poor innocent male.
Chikara chuckled and turned back to face Aaruko again. "Well, that was fun." She stated aloud.
Aaruko snorted. "Maybe for you....Thanks for saving my ass, or hers more fittingly since I was about to knock her into next century." He said, leaning back against the wall again.
Chikara smiled. "Anything for a friend of Ronai's, and anyways, Julie has been getting on my nerves." Chikara's emerald green eyes, the only real thing that proved her and Ronai were related, shined with resentment. "She has been following be around and trying to make me tell her about the Final Exam room...You do owe me one though, don't you forget it."
/Black hair and grinning red eyes..."You owe me one for this half pint, got it?"/
Aaruko shook his head a few times, earning a concerned look from Chikara. "Yah..um..sure..whatever.."He mumbled, trying to grab anything from the memory after it left...but nothing next to the usual stayed.
"Are you okay Aaruko?" Chikara asked in a soft voice, even if Aaruko would never admit it, Ronai and Chikara were the closest things to friends he had, and they worried about him and his frequent spacing out.
"Yah, just getting tired I guess, the music's giving me a bit of a migrain aswell...." He gave her the closest thing to a smile he could make.
"Aro! Karie!" Ronai pulled Aaruko and Chikara out of there conversation and replaced their concentration with watching him run over to them. Stopping infront of the two, he straightend his vest and gave them both his normal, lopsided grin. "You both enjoying the dance so far? I saw holier-then-thou- Julie walk over here a minute ago and decided to come check out the damage when I finished my dance."
Aaruko groaned. "I think more-slutty-then-thou fits her better." He grumbled, running a hand through is normally messy orange hair that he had actually managed to slick down for the dance. "I thought that you needed to be able to fight and think to be here, not be ugly."
Both Chikara and Ronai chuckled at their companion, even though he hadn't been trying to be funny. "I think she is sleeping with the Headmaster's son...or maybe the headmaster himself..." Ronai gave Chikara a disgusted look at her suggestion.
"I pity the guy if thats true...but doesn't the headmaster have a daughter, not a son?" Ronai pointed out, shoving his hands in the pockets of his dress pants and smiling the goofy smile he almost always had plastered on his face.
Aaruko, semi-surprisingly, got a offended look on his face. "I don't see nothing wrong or funny with that...." He said to Ronai, making Chikara and her cousin give the tempermental male a strange look.
"I don't think Noa was trying to be-" Chikara's sentence was cut short when a very loud thunder like noise roared through the air, so loud that it even drowned out the music, and a bright purpleish-blue light erupted through the windows and sunroof of the ball room they were in. A few seconds after the flash, the entire Gehere school shook as if a earthquake had just started, throwing half of the kids and teachers to the floor, the other half only managing to stay on their feet because of their training.
Darkness fell on the room, as well as silence, when the power was cut off, most likely from the unusual shaking of the building. Eyes putting off a erie lavender glow as he looked around the room, Aaruko foucused on Chikara and Ronai, both whom where the only ones standing near him, saved from a fall from the fading blue-green sparks of one of Noa's spells.
"You two okay?" He asked, more out of protocal then genuine concern. Inhanced sight allowed him to see them clear as day in the dark though they could only see his percing eyes as they glowed in the dark.
"Yah, we're fine...."Chikara replied, followed by a nod of agreement from Ronai, who added. "Thought your eyes only glowed when you were mad? I can see them glowing now and your wearing sunglasses."
"Oh, I must have forgotten to add that they glow when I'm using them to see in the dark." Aaruko said in a snarky tone, looking around the room that was now growing loud again as people started wondering aloud about what had just happened.
"You can see in the dark??"Ronai shook his head, and stored the info for later. "Does either of you know what just happen?" He threw in to the first question, knowing the first one wouldn't get a reply.
"I don't" Chikara said, with a sigh. "Its like an anceint came down to smite something or something like that.."She mused, and unknowingly stirred something inside of Aaruko's mind.
"Not an Anceint.." //Red eyes, thunder and rain, a large snake like shape looming in the sky// "....Its something more real.." //Voilet eyes, and birdwings, sharp claws, power joining the red and dragonish images// "Its a- "
"-EVERYONE RETURN TO THEIR ROOMS" A voice boomed over the buzzing of the room, breaking the spell like state that Aaruko had slipped into. Getting a odd look from Ronai and Chikara, Aaruko pushed away from the wall he had remained leaning against the whole time, and walked off, not finishing his sentce. Though for once, something more remained from the flashes of memories in his mind, along with a feeling approching danger, and a feeling like he wasn't doing something he should be doing aswell as the blood colored eyes. 'Not Anceints, Diciples' He finished in his own head as he started for his room, a hand clutch at his own shirt above his heart without his consent
