"Okay, it's all yours now." Esthenia said briskly as she stepped out of the bathroom with a robe on.

Pagasis looked away from his magazine and at her for a moment.

Esthenia stared at him for a moment too.

"Okay," she said. "I think that'll be enough!"

"Oh " Pagasis said as he stared back down at the "People" magazine. His face was flushed. "Sorry "

"Weirdo " Esthenia sighed as she walked into her bedroom. "I'm surprised that none of the freaks from next door aren't barging in about now "

At that moment, Tsuniker strode into the living room with a cell phone up to his ear.

"Can you hear me now?" he was saying.

Esthenia and Pagasis just stared at him for a moment.

Tsuniker smiled at them.

"I just got a new cell phone." he said while holding it up. "I'm talking to Zera right now. I'll call you later okay?"

"How the hell--?" Esthenia stammered when Tsuniker walked out the door. She looked at Pagasis. "How did he get in here?"

Pagasis shrugged. Just then, Zera walked in the same what Tsuniker did. She had a cell phone too.

"I'm sorry " she said. "I'm moving around but I still have trouble hearing you Wait " She took a couple steps forward. "There, that's better. Where are you?"

"I'm standing outside of Esthenia's door!" a voice called from outside the door.

"For crying out loud!" Esthenia exclaimed. "They aren't walkie-talkies!!"

"Oh hey Esthenia." Zera smiled at her. "No, Tsuniker I wasn't talking to you. Oh, you have to go to the bathroom? Okay, I'll call you back later." Zera pressed the end button on the Nokia and smiled at the two confused people. "I've had my phone for a while." she said.

"Where did you come from?" Pagasis asked her.

"Well you see, my mom and dad got drunk one day and…"

"No!" Esthenia exclaimed. "How did you get into our room?"

"Oh " Zera smiled. She looked relieved. "Whew I didn't want to tell the whole story anyway. It gets pretty deep… Anyway, we just come through here." She walked into the kitchen and opened a closet. There was a hole in it large enough for a person to crawl through.

"Where does it lead?" Esthenia asked.

"Our bedroom." Zera said. "We used to use it a lot when the other people lived here. We were all good friends. I guess we just got used to it."

"I see." Pagasis said thoughtfully.

"Nice robe by the way " Zera said while pointing at Esthenia's robe.

Esthenia's face flushed. She then went into her room.

"That's funny " Pagasis sighed.

"Isn't it." Zera smiled. "Well, anyway, today is Saturday so we normally go to the bar and play some pool. You two can join us if you want. It'll be nice to have someone new in the group for a change."

After Zera left, Pagasis sat back down on the couch.

"It would be nice…" he sighed.

That night, Esthenia and Pagasis headed down the hallway to the elevator. They passed a door that had a white sign on it. It said "Tsuniker: Leave the pop-cycles alone! ~ Tarrin".

"O-kay…" Esthenia said as they stepped into the elevator. She nervously pressed the down button. Esthenia hated the motion of elevators so when it moved with a jerk, she found herself latched onto someone she thought was Pagasis.

"Going down?" a voice asked.

She looked up and found herself face to face with Dracos. He adjusted his glasses. Esthenia didn't know he had glasses. Standing behind him was Torrik. She let him go and backed up.

"I'm sorry!" she exclaimed. "I didn't know you were there!"

Pagasis was laughing.

"It's okay." Dracos said. "I always have the women launching themselves at me."

"They do it for exercise." Torrik said. "Then they run in the other direction as fast as they can."

"That sounds about right." Pagasis chuckled.

"Hey, Jack-ass, you coming tonight?" Dracos asked him.

"Of course." Pagasis replied. "There's nothing else to do."

"So… what's with the sign in the hallway?" Esthenia asked. "You know, about the pop-cycles?"

"Oh, Tsuniker likes to go in there and take the pop-cycles out of the freezer." Dracos chuckled. "We think he likes to shove them up his-"

"Okay." Esthenia said. "We don't need to hear that!"

"You're no fun." Dracos said. "So, I hear you found out about the hole?"

"Yeah." Pagasis said. "And it leads right to Tsuni's room "

"You'd better wear a cork in your ass…" Dracos said as the elevator halted and the doors opened.

"Yeah, I've been warned about that…:

Esthenia felt her stomach lurch at the sudden movement.

"I hate elevators!" she hissed.

They walked into the bar together to find that they were the first ones there. They walked up to the counter and took a stool.

"Hello." A woman from behind the counter said. She had a white face with black markings around her eyes. One was red, and the other was blue. She also had black wolf ears and hair. She wore a tee-shirt and shorts with a white apron on. "I'm glad to see that my regulars came. I was starting to get bored."

"Hello Mona." Dracos said.

"Hello yourself." she replied. "So, who are the newbies?"

"I'm Esthenia." Esthenia said.

"Pagasis."

"Well, I see that old room came into some use after all." Mona said. "I was wondering who got it. One of the best if you ask me. So, did you patch up that hole yet?"

"Nope…" Dracos sighed. "They didn't know about it until earlier."

"We learned about it the hard way " Esthenia hissed.

"So," Pagasis said as he looked around. "Who owns this place?"

"I do." Mona said. "It's what I make my living out of… well, and your rent."

"You own the apartment too?" Pagasis exclaimed.

"Yup." Mona winked. "This whole block you live on used to be run by my family, but unfortunately, my uncle was a gang-lord and half our businesses got shut down. I was the only one who could keep everything and not go to prison. It's a long story. So, do you want anything to drink while we wait for your party to arrive?"

"Rum!" Dracos cheered. "I want my rum!"

"Sorry… " Mona sighed. "But the rum is gone."

"Eh ?" Dracos' jaw dropped. "Why's the rum gone!"

"A group of guys dressed as pirates from a school play came and wiped it out earlier."

"Hi!!!"

Mupo just ran in and threw her arms around all three boys at the same time. Dracos' and Pagasis' faces were squashed together.

"Sorry about that." Sheirow said as he strode inside. "I forgot her leash in our room."

"It's still tied to the bed." Mupo giggled.

"Like we really needed to know that…" a voice said from the other side of the bar.

Esthenia looked over and saw a dragon-cat anthro sitting on the other side of the bar counter. She had long brown hair and she was dressed in a black top and a pair of faded blue-jeans. Her skin was orange and had tan stripes like Torrik did. Even their ears were identical. A pair of green eyes looked at Esthenia.

"Woa…" Esthenia said. "I didn't even notice her come in here!"

"I was here before you were." the girl said. "You just didn't bother to look."

"I'm sorry." Esthenia said. "Um… who are you?"

"I'm Umie," the girl replied. "And I'm in the room across the hallway from yours."

"How come we didn't see you the other day?" Pagasis asked.

"I was taking a nap." Umie replied while taking a sip of red liquid from a glass in front of her through a long straw.

"Oh…"

"Come and join us." Shierow said. "It's pool night."

"I don't think so…" Umie said as she stared into the mirror on the other side of the counter where the expensive wine was.

"I hope she's okay…" Esthenia whispered to Pagasis.

Pagasis looked at her for a moment, then at Dracos.

"So, where's Zera and Tsuniker?"

"Well… I don't know." Dracos replied. "I suppose I'll have a shot before we start."

"And he'll take a full pitcher of water." Pagasis said.

"What the hell does that mean?" Dracos asked him.

"It means that you couldn't down not even half a shot without a chaser." Sheirow replied.

"I can too." Dracos said. "Try me."

"Okay!" Mupo exclaimed. "First one to want a chaser looses!"

"What the hell kind of idea is that?" Torrik asked.

"What? I'm bored!!" Mupo exclaimed.

"I suppose I will…" Shierow said. "I suck at pool So maybe if I get drunk first I wont have to play."

"Pull out three fire-whiskeys." Dracos said to Mona.

"You really are something." Mona sighed while turning around to get the drinks.

"What are you staring at?" Dracos finally asked Torrik.

They were all wondering the same thing. Torrik had been staring at some old guy sitting at a table across the room.

"You didn't tell me you were into old men." Dracos smirked. "He's an ugly bastard isn't he?"

"He's been coming here for a week now." Mona said while placing the shots in front of them.

"Hey, old man!?" Dracos called across the room.

Everyone kind of ducked and turned away so they wouldn't have to get involved.

"Why do you have that ugly look on your face?" Dracos asked.

"I was born with it." the old man grunted.

"He's going to beat the shit out of you, dude." Pagasis said.

"I doubt that. I think I'm tough enough. " Dracos said with a grin as he faced the shot. "Okay, we drink at the same time. 1-2-3!"

Sheirow, Mupo and Dracos all took a drink from the shot and slammed the glasses on the counter to confirm that the glass was empty. They sat there for a moment, each of them had a sour look on their face. Sheirow was the first to raise his hand for a glass of water.

Dracos and Mupo looked at each other with triumphant looks, then Dracos slammed his fist on the counter.

"Water! Damn it!" he exclaimed.

Mona grinned as she handed him a mug full of water.

"Some tough guy." she said. "I'm sure the old man will be willing to take you on."

"Lookie!" Mupo squealed. She lashed out her long thin tongue. "I'm the winner!!"

"I think I married a god." Sheirow grinned.

"You two are actually married?" Esthenia asked him.

"Yup." Sheirow said. "We're the only two in the group who are."

"I see Mupo won again." Zera said as she walked in.

"Hello!" Tsuniker appeared over her shoulder.

"Bout time." Dracos said. "Let's get this show on the road."

"I want some Wiley beer!!" Zera cheered.

"I like cherries." Tsuniker grinned.

"You'll get your cherries when we get home." Zera grinned back.

They walked to the larger end of the bar where a pool table sat. Mona got out the sticks and balls so they could start. Since there could only be two people playing, they flipped a coin to see who'd go first. It was Zera and Dracos.

Since Zera was on her third beer, they knew it would be interesting to watch. Dracos was almost terrified.

Esthenia sat down next to Mupo and watched them play. She looked around to see where Pagasis went. She looked behind her and saw that he was talking to Umie. She smiled warmly and continued to watch Zera and Dracos.

"So, are you okay?" Pagasis asked as he sat next to her.

"Yeah…" Umie sighed. "Don't worry about it."

"I do." Pagasis said. "Come on."

Umie sighed.

"Well at least come join us. You can't be that shy." Pagasis said. "You don't look like a shy person."

"I'm not shy." Umie said. "I'm just sitting here."

"Yeah… I can see that."

"I don't like pool." Umie said.

"Sure you don't."

"Will you just leave me alone?"

"Nope."

"Okay! Fine." Umie said as she stood up. She faced him and flung her arms out. "I'm out of my chair. Now what shall I do?"

Pagasis just smiled. He then pulled up a chair next to Esthenia.

"You will sit with us and have fun."

Umie kind of glared at him for a moment, then she sat down.

Esthenia smiled at her.

"Hello." she said.

"Hey," Umie replied.

"DRACOS!!" Zera growled as the eight ball went down the hole on the far corner of the pool table. "You cheated!"

"No I didn't you drunken dope." Dracos replied. "You're the one who hit that one. You made yourself loose."

"Nooo… I di'nt." Zera shook her head. She then sat the pool stick on the table and took another sip from the can. She then walked over to the juke box on the other side of the room. "I… put on some music."

"That's a great idea!" Tsuniker said enthusiastically. "I wanna hear Barbie girl!!"

"Oh my god…" Dracos sighed. "Well, who's next?"

Torrik picked up a pool stick and chalked the end.

"You're going down…" he said.

"Down your momma's drawers!" Dracos smirked.

"I like your mother's better." Torrik replied.

"Ugh!" Dracos frowned.

"Will you two just start!!" Zera exclaimed as "I Wanna Be A Cowboy" came on.

Esthenia and Umie looked at each other for a moment, and grinned. They both liked this song.

"Woa! Heads up!" Dracos cried as a solid yellow ball came shooting from the table.

Zera and Tsuniker ducked as the ball zipped past and landed its mark right on Pagasis' head.

Pagasis stared dizzily for a moment, then collapsed.

"Woa... I see apples everywhere!" he moaned.

Everyone gathered around him.

"Are you okay!?" Esthenia gasped.

"How many fingers am I holding up?"

"Dracos! That's your middle finger!!"

"I'm okay." Pagasis said as he sat up.

"Dude..." Dracos said to Torrik. "How many times must I tell you that the damn balls are supposed to stay on the table? No… You go flinging them off..."

"Man, my balls are where they belong." Torrik replied.

"Dummy..." Esthenia sighed as she helped Pagasis to his feet.

"What are you calling me a dummy for?" Pagasis asked as he stroked his head.

"That's incredible..." Zera said as she leaned in really close and examined his head. This made Pagasis a little nervous. "Your head must be harder than Dracos'."

"No..." Tsuniker said. "You could hit Dracos in the head with a truck and he wouldn't feel it!"

"I'll make you feel something." Dracos said as he raised his fist.

"I like it right... here." Tsuniker said as he pointed to his butt.

"I bet you do..." Pagasis sighed.

"This will make your head feel better." Mona said as she handed Pagasis a glass full of green liquid. "I think you might like this..."

Pagasis looked at it uneasily for a moment, then took a sip.

"Hello..." he said with a smile. "Apple pucker... we meet again."

"Don't get too wasted..." Dracos said as he placed the yellow ball back on the table. "You're next."

Dracos and Torrik finished their pool game. Dracos won again.

Torrik quietly took a seat next to Sheirow while Pagasis stepped fourth.

"You ready?" Dracos asked with a smirk. "I'm the pool king tonight."

"So far I guess..." Pagasis sighed as he grabbed a pool stick. "Is it all right if I break?"

"Go ahead..." Dracos said.

Pagasis lowered the stick to the table.

"Say hello to my little friend..." he said as he struck the cue ball.

The pyramid of balls split apart and all the solids sank into the holes, including the eight ball.

"What the hell just happened??" Dracos gasped. His face was in udder shock.

"Something I learned after high-school." Pagasis grinned. "Or maybe it was the power of the pucker..."

"Oooo... Bee-bop!" Tsuniker said.

"Hey guys, check out who just showed up!" Mupo exclaimed as she ran inside. She was in hysterics, and was almost in tears.

Sheirow and someone else walked through the doors.

This somebody wore a long black trench coat and a white head band. He had brown hair and large pointed ears tipped with brown. He was a sphinx.

"Terrin?" Zeara gasped.

"Well... Look who's finally back." Dracos grinned. "How'd it go?"

"It was great." Terrin said with a smile as he looked around at every one. "Woa... is there anyone here I don't know?"

"Oh, yeah," Zera said. "We have new neighbors."

"This is Pagasis, and this is Esthenia." Tsuniker said as he wrapped his arms around their shoulders. "These are me and Dracos' new butt buddies!"

"Oh god..." Torrik groaned.

"Hi... Terrin." Umie said tentatively.

"Uh... Hey there Umie." Terrin said. "How is life?"

"Fine." Umie replied.

"So, how was it?" Dracos asked. "Your are one lucky son of a bitch! Do you know how bad I wanted to go?"

"Where?" Esthenia asked.

"He went to the Third Eye Blind concert." Zera said.

"Hey you snooze you loose." Terrin grinned.

"You're the only freak who buys Captain Crunch!" Dracos said. "How in the hell were we supposed to know you could get tickets from that?"

"You didn't get into the pop circles again did you?" Terrin asked Tsuniker.

"No..." Tsuniker said innocently. "But I did find the bananas..."

"Well... I suppose I'll head on home and throw all the bananas away." Terrin said as he shot a frown at Tsuniker.

"Don't leave yet!" Dracos exclaimed. "It's pool night. At least play a game before you go home."

"I don't know..." Terrin said. "Those bananas may stink up my room... And I'm pretty tired. I've been on that damn buss all night. I didn't get a wink of sleep." He then looked at Dracos and pointed at his glasses. He made a cough that sounded suspiciously like the word "Dork!"

"You'll stay." Mona said as she handed him a Pepsi.

Terrin just smiled.

"Okay, what could it hurt I guess." he said. He then walked up to Umie and poked her in the side.

She glared at him. Then poked him back. Then poked him back after he poked her.

"How cute..." Dracos said. "They'd make a great couple..."

Umie froze and stared at him, she then walked up to him with a dangerous glint in her eyes. She raised her leg to kick him but someone stood in her way.

"Be good." Pagasis said.

Umie glared at him too. She then turned around and sat back down innocently next to Esthenia.

"You're odd." Esthenia smiled at her. "I like you all ready. We could make a great team."

Umie smiled back.

"Beating people up?"

"Oh yeah..."

All the guys just kind of stared at them frightfully for a moment.

"I'll get us some jock-straps tomorrow..." Torrik sighed.

Esthenia nodded. She then looked around at every one. "You know what... This reminds me of old times. I feel like I know you all."

"It's amazing how that can happen..." Dracos said.
