Part 3: Remembrance (outside pov)

"Akira stop cheating!" The little boy balled his hands up into fists. The other in hiding trying not to laugh, his brother was so bad at this game. The younger of the two was starting to get frustrated and hungry. He rubbed his round tummy as it growled something along the lines of 'feed me'.

"Akira come on I'm." His statement was cut off as he tripped over something. Akira came out of hiding to check on his little brother but stopped dead in his tracks.

"Kazuki come on." He pulled the little boy off the lifeless looking girl. Kazuki stood behind Akira as he turned the girl over careful not to touch her all bruised up skin. Her eyes were rolled back showing only white and the side of her face was bleeding. Akira noted she was bleeding in other places but still her chest fell and rose with signs of life.

"Go get Keiko." Kazuki was hesitant at first but did as Akira told him. As he ran up the shrine steps he couldn't stop crying. Keiko immediately saw the silver-haired angel and picked him up. Kazuki didn't have to say what was wrong she could see the image of the blue-haired girl projecting in his mind.

"Akira don't touch her!" She was too late as Akira put his hand over the bare skin of a pudgy arm. His whole body shook though his spine stayed rigid. The slashes that were on the girl were appearing on his body as she began to open her eyes. She coughed something up then both froze. Kazuki rushed to his brother's side as Keiko picked up the ring the girl had thrown up. It was of pure gold and seemed to radiate with some immensely powerful aura, Keiko pocketed the item before any of the kids or the tribe's people that were running towards them could notice she had it.

"I so sawwie." Keiko picked her up quickly almost shaking the battered girl.

"What's your name?"

"I don't know." She cried into Keiko's shoulder holding tightly to her. The others were attending to Akira as Keiko walked away with the girl.

"How about Kin for your golden skin?" She nodded her head of blue hair as Keiko lay down to attend to the wounds still on her small body. Kin rubbed her eyes with her fists trying to hide the evidence of her crying then put her arms out to Keiko when all the wounds were bandaged. Kin closed her eyes as she laid her head on Keiko's shoulder.

"No older than four who would abandon such a vulnerable child." Sighing she exited to go check on Akira thinking he'd be okay by now.

"Keiko!" Kazuki wrapped his arms around Keiko's leg bawling. She gulped, as she looked from him to Akira lying motionless on the bed lifeless eyes stuck in a cold staring contest with the ceiling. She put Kin down almost as if she had been burned by the girl and rushed to the bed putting a hand over her mouth to cover her wail of pain. Akira was her baby even if he was eleven and to see the one you've raised beginning to rot with his face still so innocent was unforgettable. Kazuki put his arm around her leg once again, Kin standing there with her small hands pressed to her chest and looking around as if trying to think of way to get out of there without anyone noticing. Once Keiko sat on the bed and reached out a hand to Akira she lost all her control and let out a hysterical cry of sorrow pulling the dead boy into her arms and rocking back and forth with him. She cried into his violet hair wetting the strands a darker shade. Kazuki sat on the floor crying quietly and staring up at the tragic pair no one noticing Kin climb on the bed behind Akira and placing her hand on his back. Keiko stopped crying momentarily as she felt someone tugging on her shirt.

"It's gold." Kazuki was pointing at the light coming from Kin's hands that shocked Akira's body and caused him it to shake. Keiko looked down at the front of her shirt feeling hands gripping it with almost enough force to rip it off and gasped in surprise. Akira hands were fisting her shirt as he whimpered like a puppy that had just had his tail stepped on. Tears fell from both the eyes of Akira and Kin as they groaned in pain the golden light growing then stopping suddenly. Both went limp Kin falling forward onto Akira's back who was still in Keiko's arms.

"Oh I think I get it now Cambidor. What did you exchange in order to restore his life?" She put her hands under Akira's knees lifting him from the blood soaked bed and taking him to the water they had probably set up to clean off his dead body, she smiled knowing he wouldn't be leaving them anytime soon. When he was clean and in warm clothes she laid him down on a clean bed in the next room going back to the soiled bed to collect Kin who she dressed in one of Kazuki's kimono, Kin was only a few inches smaller than Kazuki. Kazuki stared at the sleeping pair bundled up warm in the bed and yawned, Keiko looked over at him smiling and nodded her head. He smiled as he climbed up onto the bed laying himself between the other two. Keiko was about to exit the room when a golden energy erupted it was hard to pin point which child it was coming from and Keiko was given no chance to do so as she was thrown back.

"Keiko-sama what's happening?" Keiko looked at the rest of the Amaya that had gathered around the gold ki some muttering small prayers.

"She's binding them. Akira and she now share one life source but they needed another to establish the connection, Kazuki."

"Kin get over here! Oh you little exhibitionist!" The girl that had been bathing her ran out of the bathhouse huffing and pushing away wet strands of raven hair. Rolling her eyes at first being pushed into the spring by the girl then left to chase the naked four-year-old she didn't notice Akira step outside. He looked at the trail of wet footprints leading out to the middle of the square and suddenly stopping there and smiled.

"Lost her again? Don't worry I'll find her." Akira always knew where to find her she was usually in the simplest of places where no one would really think such a young girl would have the courage to go. It wasn't long before he caught sight of bouncing blue hair followed shortly after by a silver blur. He noticed she was dressed in the coat of Kazuki's kimono, which was big enough on her to save the decency she had lost streaking through the tribe grounds. Kazuki was in only his under kimono hair wet as well pointing to the fact that they had been swimming. Akira had guessed as much, they had made a habit of running out of the bath to go for a swim only Kazuki always seemed to remember to at least cover himself first.

"Hey Akira want to play tag with us?"

"Sure I'll be it!" He took chase after both that picked up the strategy of running in different directions to confuse Akira who started to hate the fact that both had more energy that he did. Akira tagged Kin after much effort and she quickly took after Kazuki. By the end of the day all three were thoroughly tuckered out and lying on the grass looking up at the darkening sky. Akira lay with his back on the grass Kin and Kazuki both with their heads partially on his stomach. Kin had curled up and falling asleep using his as a pillow while Kazuki hummed a little hymn.

"We should head back." In response Kazuki stood up while Akira lifted Kin onto his floating coat.

"Keiko said you're not supposed to use your powers like that."

"Well then don't tell Keiko." Kazuki stomped after.

"Fast forward to the good stuff."

"Shut up you're the one getting all the attention in this part." Kin glared at Akira and he just rolled his blue eyes.

"Kazuki won't care or understand all things that went on between us."

"Nothing went on between us."

"Stop lying to yourself you know you loved me."

"It's impossible to love you ask for too little and need too much." He stayed quiet though one could obviously tell that there was a lot he wanted to say.

"All right Mr. Impatient we'll fast forward."

"Why do you have to leave?" He held her hands in his willing himself to be a man and not cry.

"I've caused too many problems it's not right for me to stay here. I need to find my family and stop ruining yours." Kazuki nodded his head and kissed her palm. She was crying but telling herself it was just a stupid crush that she'd forget about him.

"Will you come back?" She looked at him flipping back her hair to get it out of her face.

"I promise I'll come back. I could never live with myself if I didn't." Kin had not expected what he did next but welcomed the kiss anyway. Akira watched in the darkness fuming silently. He left before either of the teens could spot him.

"Akira." He looked up at the thirteen-year-old girl smiling as if he'd seen nothing only an hour ago. He patted the space beside him on the bench and she sat down.

"I know you're leaving Keiko told me." Kin nodded her head and he reached out to grab her hand. She lifted her head to look at him curiously. Akira placed a hand on her cheek running his thumb against it.

"What are you doing?"

"I was the first to kiss you. The first to love you. Yet you chose him. Tell me Kin why is you can't love me?"

"I tried I really did but you need much more than I can give. We're not right for each."

"Stop. It's lies all lies. I'm tired of you lying to me. Don't' sit there looking me in the eye feeding me with lies. I won't stand for that." The grip of his hand on her chin was painfully tight. Kin put a hand on his wrist but his grip on her did not waiver.

"Akira you're scaring me." His other hand was buried in her hair. He pulled her onto his lap crushing her body to his with one arm around her back.

"You have to love me. I know you love me." Whatever she was going to say was cut off as Akira kissed her with turbulent passion. She was crying and unable to push him away as her hands were trapped between their two bodies. Akira only pulled away when the need to breathe made itself known. He looked at her crying face immediately feeling guilty and trying to hug her to provide comfort for having upset her. She pushed him away sending them both falling to the floor kicking back the bench. Kin got up running off while Akira only stayed on the floor looking in the direction she disappeared to.

"I'll love you no matter what."

"And what happened after that Akira? What did you do?" Akira gulped and looked down at the grass he was pulling on.

"I raped you."

"Excuse me I didn't quite catch that."

"I raped you! All right I went into your room and I forced myself on you even though you were only thirteen and I was twenty-one! I fucking loved you! You couldn't care less about me!"

"You didn't rape me. Remember I didn't fight, there was no point in prolonging the inevitable. You were much stronger than me."

"I remember you fighting."

"I didn't."

"Really?"

Kin groaned as she was tossed onto the bed. Akira cried as he stripped watching her try to cover herself. Fully nude he propped himself over the equally undressed of Kin. He could feel the way she shook in fear but kept telling himself it was anticipation for him. In his mind they were making love he wasn't forcing himself on her. Akira was about to push her legs open but she did it herself. Though she was still afraid she put her arms tenderly around his neck pulling herself up so her lips were by his ear.

"It's okay he said this was all I'd be good for. That I'd grow into a beautiful temptress and my body would be a toy for all. It's okay." She kept whispering it over and over in his ear as he lowered himself to enter her heat. Her voice kept going but it held an obvious tone of pain and shame.

"I'm sorry but I need you. I need to feel you like this." He pulled her closer to him as she continued to whisper. Akira was shivering as he placed tender kisses on her shoulder feeling her tears slide onto his back. He held her hips moving slowly in and out of her as she kept her arms around his neck. Kin was trying to ignore the way her body enjoyed his touch but it became harder as he dipped his head low to nibble on her ear. Her eyes went wide as he bit down on the tender skin of her neck. Her fingernails dug into his back drawing blood as he had on her neck. Akira smiled as he lapped at the blood speeding up his pace of slamming in and out of her. Kin let go of him dropping back onto the bed and turning her face away from him.

"I love Kazuki not you!" Akira couldn't deny how much that hurt but closed his eyes trying to pretend she'd said nothing. He hid his face in the crook of her neck crying as he finally came. Kin was panting and refusing to even move while Akira continued to cry without pulling himself out of her.

"You didn't leave till early morning and I didn't sleep through the entire night. I felt so dirty Akira that I couldn't even say good bye to Kazuki. You made me into a woman before I was ready." Kin was running her fingers through Nibori's hair who had laid his head on Kazuki's lap. Kazuki was still unconscious being filled with the memories that had been erased from him.

"You never told either of us what happened while you were gone."

"Neither of you needs to know."

"Kin I know."

"You know what?"

"How Keiko came to be again. You should have never done that without asking me first."

"Fuck you."

"What's the big celebration about?" Kazuki stood beside Akira, it had been little over a year since Kin left. Keiko had died a few months after Kin left around the same time a mysterious man had visited the Amaya tribe. Kazuki had his suspicions about it but everyone dismissed him when he tried to speak of it.

"Nothing go back to help Ayana." Ayana had taken Keiko's place as tribe leader but still was unable to lead the tribe on her own being that she was very young. Kazuki was about to go when a very obviously female figure dressed in a silk sakura blossom kimono came into view. The sakura's were embroidered into the deep blue kimono with gold. There was a baby in her arms with silver hair down to her ears. Ayana came running out and the figure bowed down to her holding out the baby. The people of the tribe gasped as they realized the girl bowing to their leader was none other than Kin. Twelve others were huddled around her covered in cloaks of deep blue velvet. From the gold symbols embroidered in the cloaks it was revealed that they were the Kami family. All the tribe members bowed down to the family their heads so low they almost touched the ground. Kazuki and Akira looked around curiously still standing tall. Akira unsheathed his sword as the tallest of the cloaked figures stepped towards Ayana. She stood her blonde curls bouncing as she did so and pushed down Akira's sword arm.

"No need I have called them here. They bring us the chosen one, this child we must train and you must guard."

~`~`~`~

"But it really was that baby was it? That baby was Keiko buying her time. You brought her back when he killed her and he never knew. Why did you do it?"

"There had to be someone to stand against him. Keiko seemed the best choice but it took too long. Ayana died trying to escape with her. He killed all the Amaya and increased her growth then trapped her in this world. I told you I didn't betray you he was just much stronger than I was. With each one I take away he loses strength and I gain it. I have to make them revolt against him or none of us will stand a chance."

"Wake him up and let's get out of here. I'll put up with you if it let's me be free."

"You remember right?"

"Yes I do. I remember."

"You need me."

"And you need me till you fulfill the exchange."

"Yes."
