Part 6: Bitter After Taste (Ichiro Kami)

"Thus the tragic beauty fades away." I laugh as I turn to look at the rest of Kin's precious 'children' gathered in the dining room. They stand bow their heads and leave only Natsumi staying behind unwrapping her Mirror of the Heart from the pink silk she keeps it in. She puts her hands at its side holding it up so it covers most of the upper half of her body and closes her eyes.

"Kin and Kazuki lovers destined to be pulled apart appear in my Mirror of the Heart. Show me your current plight." The image appeared in the mirror of my two favorite forbidden lovers. Oh they had made it out of the vortex amazingly with Yori's body. Poor thing he was so pretty too. The Tenshi Musha held his body as if it were some sacred artifact tears running down his cheeks though he kept his face emotionless. Kazuki begins to dig a grave for Yori while Kin is using her powers to create a coffin for him. I place two fingers on the mirror on Yori's pale face, the image projection of the mirror so strong I can feel his cold skin.

"Beautiful even in death. I knew you would be." Kin's head snaps up as if she feels me watching her eyes taking up the entire mirror. Their red from her crying, she was always very close to Yori babying him all the time. I put a stop to that when I turned him against her but I always knew he'd go back to that bitch. Kin stands back as Akira reluctantly lowers Yori into the coffin then with Kazuki's help places it in the grave. They have no gravestone only a boulder to pass as one. Yori would be given a proper funeral in secret they knew no one could know of his death because they'd want an explanation for it. No one would believe he was killed by poison entering his body through lightning from my very hands. All three sing a little hymn to bid him farewell, how sweet. Once the hymn is over Kin turns away from the other two Kazuki immediately going to her while Akira sits beside Yori's grave. Kin tries to run away but Kazuki grabs her arm.

"Kin! Kin where are you going?" She tries to pull her arm away but he won't release her.

"I can't stay anymore. I have to find the rest of them, they need me. Akira will protect you but be ready. That's all I can tell you be ready." Conceit little girl thinks she can 'save' them from me. They belong to me now she must come to terms with that.

"Ready for what?"

"I'm sorry I can't say." She kissed him softly standing on her tip toes and pulling him down to be able to do so. When she pulled away he stared at her in shock, it was obvious that this was the actual first kiss they've shared since the 'fallout'.

"Why do you have to leave me?" Kazuki has always been very dependent upon others I wanted him to be dependent on me. He chose her though and for that I'll never forgive either of them they were both supposed to be mine.

"I'll be back. I promise." Don't believe her she makes promises to break them. How dare her try to fool him like this I would never do such a thing. His fingers slide down her arm as she began to walk away and he made no sign of stopping her. Akira stood behind him now placing a hand on his shoulder as Kin disappeared into the night.

"She's not coming back is she?" He knew and he let her go?

"She came back last time didn't she?"

"But she didn't want to." If that's so why did she so quickly sneak out of my room the night she came to see you? Didn't even wait till I was fully asleep to try and reach him so I followed her. That was the night I found out about Keiko and all the Amaya. She cried and begged for me not to hurt any of you but Keiko had to go that way she would learn. Then again when the child was born she tried to leave but this time I allowed her making the whole group go along. She wanted to leave, she wanted to leave us all behind now she acts as if she can come in and take them all away from me.

"You expect me to grieve because she walked away at least she walked. I would give up everything just to see Yori walk away from me! It wouldn't matter that he's leaving me as long as he's alive!" Kazuki lowers his head in shame as Akira towers over him anger still evident though he cries.

"I'm sorry but I'm afraid that she'll be lying beside him soon." And how correct that assumption is.

"Enough Natsumi. Go now." She bows wrapping up her mirror and leaving me alone in the room. I see the shadows begin to dance and smile putting my hand out to them. A dark hand goes in mine the claws being wary of my tender skin. She dances around the room casting a shadow on everything as I stand there watching her. My partner she was in the guidance of souls but one mistake had her sent to a hell unknown to man reserved only for apparitions. Her dark wings were glorious larger than her petite body. Oh how I've missed her. How could I have possibly believed anyone could replace her? My sweet Kanna. She spins wildly her form disappearing for a moment and when she reappears she is once again the beauty I remember. Skin soft and blushing like rose petals dripping with morning dew. Her lips as red as ripe strawberries and looking just as delicious. Her hair flows in wild burgundy curls down to her ankles her wings still spread behind her black with tips of burgundy. She smiles as I take in the sight of her naked body and steps towards me.

"Obvious the wench and the elf were not at my level or you would not have gone through the trouble of draining one of your little pets to bring me to this world."

"She would've been dead anyway." Kanna set herself on my lap wrapping her arms around my neck.

"You never want to tell me the truth but I know you missed me." She kissed my cheeks and I yanked on her hair.

"None of that you have someone to terminate." She leaned back to look at my face smiling seductively.

"The guardian still bugging you?"

"Yes I want you to destroy him."

"Done. You better be ready for me when I get back." She got off of me turning to exit but I grabbed her hair.

"You may want to put on some clothes."

"Give me your shirt." Reluctantly I gave it to her laughing at seeing it fell to her knees. She gave me the finger and left via an open window. Kanna would not be able to kill the guardian only fuel his anger and bring him to me. I'd get him out of the picture once and for all, no mercy will they see from me this time.

A storm was brewing outside, I had expected it much sooner. The Amaya makes the skies cry for his Cambidor knowing her fate is in my hands. With the towel wrapped around my waist I open the doors to the balcony to see the first raindrops fall. Happy with the dire mood of the night I remove my towel and lie on the bed. Kanna will be a while, oh how I hate waiting. The door to my room opens revealing a trembling figure in the doorway.

"How did you get up here my Princess?" She holds up a key then tosses it onto the bed.

"Spare key under the piece of rock you call a statue." I smile as she comes closer seeing she's soaked from head to toe.

"What did you want with me dear Kin?"

"Why?"

"Why what?" In a rage she pounces onto me punching wildly and I grab her wrists pulling her closer. Her face is so close the tips of our noses touch and I can feel her panting against me. It has taken much of her energy to make the trip here in the few hours she did, probably did a dimensional jump to get halfway here. She never was really good at that only being able to get small distances while I could go across the universe in the most demonic of astral planes.

"You killed him," her voice cracks. She's obviously trying not to cry.

"He got in my way."

"This is not you. You were never like this before. I don't believe it." I hated when she tried to understand me when she was at fault for this change in me.

"Before I had no reason to crave, to be angry. You did this to me and now you question the consequences of your actions? I bet you don't even remember do you? Do you?!" I gripped her wrists so tight she cried out in pain. I took advantage of her little wails delving my tongue into her mouth. It was still as sweet as I remember and made more so for his taste was still on her lips. The fire of his kiss still burned on her lips sending heat directly to my groin. She tried to pull away from me but she had to learn she'd only be allowed to leave when I wanted her to.

"Ichiro you didn't give. Ichiro!" Kin was yanked off of me and tossed aside hitting her back against the wall as Kanna glared at her. Kin was trying to shake off the impact of the fall when Kanna grabbed her by the neck and lifted her up leaving her legs dangling. Kin not one to give up so easily grabbed Kanna's wrists and kicked at her all the while trying to give her a threatening look.

"Girls don't fight over me there's plenty for both of you." Kanna let Kin go coming to grab my throat her claws nicking my skin as she began to turn to her full demon form.

"You never planned on giving her up," her voice was like a growl, highly unattractive, "You still want her. I was just a distraction till she came back, right? You were going to use me again?"

"It's nothing personal Sweetheart, just a villain cliché." With a roar she swiped her claws getting my left eye. I knew from the pain and the blood pouring that that eye was long gone and the scars would remain forever.

"Ichiro!" Kin got up to try and help me possibly but just one look from Kanna sent her flying out onto the balcony going over the side of it. Kanna was the Master of Kaze (wind), the goddess of the Kaze tribe and Yori's would be trainer. He was to inherit her position how sad. I could still feel that Kin had not fallen to her bloody demise and concentrated on keeping her from falling just letting her dangle in the air out of Kanna's sight. Kanna glared at me her blue eyes seeming to glass over with tears yet to be shed. They always cry so easily I really don't have to do much to get them to cry it amazes me.

"I love you like she never will. Please get over it whatever the two of you use to have it's gone. Love me."

"Don't talk about what Kin and I have like you can understand it. You don't know what we endured together. The promise she made to me you are not aware of it nor is she but she'll keep it. I'll make sure she keeps her promise to me. Now it seems someone needs to be made into a mindless drone."

"Please go ahead, It is the only way I can be near you without feeling the ache of knowing I will never truly be near you." She let go of my neck kneeling before me and bowing her head. I smiled putting my hand over her head and closing my eyes as I began to absorb her life essence. She fell to the side then stood before me awaiting command.

"Leave me now." Kanna bowed to me then left the room closing the door quietly behind her. Kin climbed back onto the balcony the water making her slide onto her behind and into the room. She stood up with a huff and wiped the back of her skirt trying to act like she had not just given me a lovely panty shot.

"Your eye?"

"Gone." I pushed back my hair to show her the bloody socket closed with no bump behind it to give proof that there was no eye there. Damn Kanna this would never be repaired. Kin pulled off her navy blazer pulling on her bow to take off her white shirt as well. She used the blazer to clean off the blood on my face and neck then ripped the shirt tying a piece of it around my head as a bandage to stop the bleeding. I grabbed her waist as she moved away wrapping my arms around it and pressing my cheek to her stomach. She was still in a thin white spaghetti strap shirt. She was looking away from me trying to keep her body stiff though I could tell she wanted to put her arms around me. No matter how hard she tried she could not deny the need she had to be near me, to love me.

"It was your fault for this. Why couldn't you show Yori the same compassion I show you?"

"Because I didn't owe him anything like you do me." She looked into my one golden eye then directed her gaze back to the wall behind me a bit shaken up from just making simple eye contact with me.

"You owed him everything for what you stole from him, from all of them. You owe them everything."

"What is it I stole from them?"

"Their destinies, their fate." She pried my arms off backing away from me and rubbing her bare arms her lips quivering from the cold. Her hair stuck to her skin as she stared at the crescent moon her back to me.

"It wasn't fair they did everything wrong and answered to no one then they were to be rewarded. I did everything I was told and I stayed on the right path yet I would be punished, forever be a servant to the non- deserving."

"We all have a purpose."

"A purpose? That's crap and you know it! You didn't accept your 'purpose' did you?" I grabbed her shoulders making her face level with my chest.

"That was not my true purpose you only believed it so." I tipped her head back forcing her to look up at me keeping my hand on her chin.

"We choose our purpose in life it's not given to us at birth. Remember that."

"That's a mortal belief we do not have that privilege." Her eyes were full of conviction yet I did not tear my gaze away. If she expected me to turn away this world had made her stupider than I thought.

"Why should mortals be given more rights than us the spirits of what was and will be?" She didn't answer only turned her gaze away from me. "You came here for your children go see them while I decide what to do with you."

She nodded her head walking towards the door then stopped with her hand on the doorknob.

"There are things we can't have because they should not be. You understood that once." I sat back on the bed as she left me to myself wallowing in the memories of what was and will be again.

I found her later sitting on the couch with Katsu half sprawled on her lap. Chika and Moriko were sat on the floor around them both drawing in sketchbooks. Chika was drawing Kin and Katsu while Moriko drew her favorite thing in the world, yaoi boys. I'll never understand girls. Kin didn't look at me just continued to stare at the fireplace while running her fingers through Katsu's orange black striped hair. I grabbed the back of Kin's head forcing her to look at me. A growl made me look down at Katsu seeing he was beginning his transformation to his celestial beast.

"This is no concern of yours. Go snuggle up to your dear Natsumi." Katsu didn't move keeping his eyes locked on me glowing with the concept of slaughter.

"It is my concern when you're trying to hurt her. I promised to protect Kin and I keep all my promises." Kin put a hand on his cheek the other on my wrist while I still held her hair.

"Just go Katsu it's okay. I'll see you again before I leave." Katsu looked at her then at me and slid out under my arm.

"If you hurt her I swear I'll shred you." He flexed his claws and gave a warning growl letting it linger in the air as he left. Chika seeming to sense the tension in the room pulled Moriko to her feet and dragged her out. Moriko could be heard arguing up to the point a door slammed.

"So now that you've seen your dear children you can spend some quality time with me."

"Ichiro you act like you care so much about you."

"I do care about you."

"No you don't!" She stood up pushing me away making me fall onto the coffee table.

"Yes I do! I care about you because you belong to me!"

"I do not! I belong to Kazuki Hiyamora!" I grabbed her as she tried to walk away pulling her onto my lap. My lips right beside her ear I blew on it just to feel her tremble.

"You can't belong to him when I created you."

"What?"

"Remember you and I we were so in love but he beat you constantly. The last time he battered your body so badly I couldn't revive you so I put your soul in another body. She felt your pain having joined her soul with yours for she foolishly believed you could share the vessel. Her little body couldn't stand the pain. She ran from me, the first time you ever feared me because I was bathed in his blood." Kin was shaking as I held her to me.

"It's not true."

"But it is. Close your eyes and see through mine." I leaned her back placing a hand over her eyes she stayed completely still.

"Show only the truth not the lies. Feel only what is real not fallacy." I smiled against her neck knowing she could feel the emotion behind my every action.

"The feel of your skin against mine like pure silk. You must remember I made you my bride." Her breath hitched as I slid my hands up her shirt the comparison of my warm hands to her cool skin seeming to overwhelm her. The image played against the wall as she opened her eyes of a tall, slender beauty dressed for her wedding.

"That's not me."

"That was you before I put you in this body. Isn't your old body to die for?" She didn't see the humor in it keeping her expression unreadable though I could feel her every emotion. The girl projecting on the wall smiles bright as she walks down the aisle her eyes locked on my image. I remember myself then so happy and trying to be oblivious to the bullshit that surrounded me and clouded all that I believed to be pure and true.

"No I don't believe you."

"Then after that how I carried you to our new home. I placed you on the bed and you slowly undid your dress while I peeled off my clothes like a wild man. I couldn't wait to feel your body to place kisses all over it. I unleashed all my love and passion on you that night and you rode that wave as if it were endless. You asked me to never stop. You begged more, more. Ichiro please more." She tried to pull away from her but with all my strength I kept her on my lap.

"Stop with this little fantasy of yours it never occurred."

"I'm not finished showing you yet you'll wait till I am. You have to see what happened to that woman I loved, to my Queen." Kin stopped trying to get away directing her gaze back to the image projection before us as the young girl with the glorious black locks was dragged away that hair pulled out from her skull. Kin was horrified seeing how she was tossed around worse than a rag doll in the hands of bratty child. The perfect milky complexion now purple and blue with bruises, red with blood pouring from every pour. That attack he had taught it to me killing them from the outside but he didn't kill her he only made her wish he did. I don't really understand why he would do those things to her but he dragged her right out of our home to do so. I had to kill him for killing my bride and the child that had been growing inside of her.

"Why do you show me this?" I hushed her holding her head so she couldn't tear her gaze away from the images.

"I appeared before the broken girl taking her in my arms and crying into her shoulder. She made no response too numb from the pain and trapped in another world. I had to save her she had to come back to me. I could not let her linger in another world when she belonged to me now and forever. I pulled her soul out from the body it twitching as I did so and carried the blue orb that was her soul for months. I had to find the perfect body one that would not give way to his tricks. So it was that I found the little girl with hair of blue. She smiled at me saying the pretty ball matched her hair. I asked her if she wanted it and at first she refused but I insisted. Once she took it in her hands it was absorbed into her body. She cried for hours as bruises and cuts began to appear all over her little body. Then she cried out my name so I held her. She fell asleep in my arms and I carried her back to where he was. While she slept I killed him the same way he destroyed that body I made love to once.

"When she awoke his blood was all over the walls, all over my body and all over her as well. All that was left of him was blood. Her eyes grew wide with fear and she ran from me. I was too exhausted to chase after her and couldn't even figure out where she was going. I made my powers grow so I could find her once again. In the middle of my training I felt her presence. She had remembered me but not all of me. Remember that was when I came to take you from the damn Amaya that did not deserve to even be in our presence. You were carrying a child then but I did not ask you to kill it as I should have. I let you carry it in hopes that it would have the soul of that child long ago that died within her body. So you see I made what you are if it wasn't for me you would be dead."

"But I'm not that girl anymore. The second is soul in this body the original soul it has it's own will and it's will chooses to be Kin. That other girl is just a faint melody like the backing vocals of an amateur artist it is she that controls all. She that wants Kazuki and she that has the other purpose the other is already declared dead thus she has no reason to be anymore." I grabbed her thighs squeezing so hard the skin turned yellow and white under my fingers.

"She has a reason to be, I am her reason to be. These powers of exchange they belong to her not the second soul. The second soul. oh you'll love this one. is the Mizu Megami. Can you believe it I took the goddess right from under those stupid elves? They died after that. It didn't matter they were going to be killed by the Ishi tribe, they'd already summoned their god."

"You're horrible. How could you expect someone to love you when killing is just a sport to you? You're a terrible person no one could ever love you." I turned her head holding he chin and forcing her to look at me.

"You loved me and you will again. You promised me forever and you will give it to me." I kissed her forcibly her body thrashing as she tried to get away from me. She cried into my mouth as my hand began to burn her flesh, tears as blue as sapphires running down her cheeks.

"You came back." I pulled away from Kin to glare at him starting to despise him even more. He lowered his head all the wild silver strands falling in front of his face and almost touching the floor. Kin got off my lap quickly going to him as if he was the most important person in the world.

"Masuyo it's been so long since I've seen you. You've gotten a lot taller." He looked at her his violet eyes shining his cheeks tinged rosy from his blushing. Just like Kazuki he adored her neither saw her do any wrong believing her to be perfect. She glared at me as she left with Masuyo talking her ears off. Don't worry dear Kin when it's all said and done I'll have my way and both you and Kazuki will be mine. I look into the dining hall hearing all the voices speaking in extinct languages but I know what they're saying. I know they want to bring destruction to this world as I do. Soon you'll all be free just two more doors to open. My little summoner will get you all out.
