Chapter 5
After many moments of being close to him, I pulled away gazing into his eyes. He smiled slowly. I had missed him. Forgotten what he had looked like. I had forgotten what his smile looked like. Then I heard a familiar cry. It was my cousin. She had finally caught up to me. I had left her behind many paces. She had been living in Paris when I arrived.

She invited me to stay with her. Bad mistake on my part. How was I supposed to know she'd be a conniving little bitch? I didn't really. But I watched Julian. I was as his normal blue eyes became darkened with a desire I couldn't quite place. I shook my head and stepped aside to let him pass me. My cousin came jogging up and looked at me then looked at Julian then back to me. I knew then she knew she had fallen in love. Julian turned to me and asked in the deep Romanian accent of his.
"Who is this fine Lily? Why did you not introduce me to this lovely young woman who is standing here before me?"

I was fuming deep within. `How dare she come between me and Julian?! How dare she do this to me?!' I spat out through gritted teeth. "That would be my lovely and adorable cousin Jasmine."

She smiled sweetly at me as though I had paid her such a cute compliment. It sickened me. I hated her with every ounce of my being. I wanted her dead and I knew that one day I would have to kill her to get her out of my life so that she would not steal every single guy I laid my eyes on. She was the type of person who would steal men away from anyone no matter what the consequences might be. She did not care what the people thought of her. She just went her own way and did her own thing.
I stormed away walking into a near-by tavern. Luckily, I had not turned around for within that moment, the sound of her heels clacked on the ground. I new she was kissing him and he was not doing anything to push her away. The man at the counter in the tavern noticed the flame of anger and hatred in my eyes, he immediately handed me a key to the suite.

I must have been asleep for many years because when I awoke the interior of the room had changed there were kerosene lamps and water pumps. I looked over at the calendar it said 1862. I shook my head in disbelief. 1862! It was the early 1800's when I had been there. I decided to look around.
I went out of the tavern the patrons in the bar all stared at me. My green eyes scanned the place as I set the olden key on the counter. The man behind the counter simply nodded as I left and went on my way into the streets. Everything was so different. I went to the spot where Jasmine and Julian were when I left. They weren't there. I sighed with relief and began my journey once more.
