Nobody Cares

A/N: Just a poem I wrote. I looked at the title and got inspired.

Walking down the darkened street,

All alone, nobody around,

The girl who's been neglected,

Dragging her feet, staring at the ground.

Nobody cares about her,

There's nothing left,

Mother alcoholic, Father dead,

Brother in jail for murder and theft.

All her friends don't listen,

No counselor in the world could help her,

She walks into the drug store,

Even the cashier ignores her.

She walks out,

All alone,

Continues down the street,

And goes home.

There's no one there,

As usual she's alone,

To her it's just a house,

It never felt like home.

She went down the hall,

Into the bathroom,

Swallowed the bottle of pills,

Then went to her room.

She hugged her pillow,

Closed her eyes,

Rocked back and forth,

And started to cry.

She started to feel sick,

Became short of breath,

She sat back and waited,

To be claimed by Death.

Death soon came,

Her soul was taken,

She appears asleep,

But will not waken.

This girl was kind,

Her kindness she shared,

She would not be dead,

If somebody had cared.
