Not Much Time Left

An X-men fanfic
I do not own X-men at all, although I would like to. I only own Jeanne Wilde.
fanfic is about Hank (a.k.a. Beast) and Jeanne finding the courage to overcome a big obstacle in their new relationship.

"Here we are at the mansion, you'll really like it here." Elizabeth stated to the scottish beauty in the back seat.

"The proffessor will be glad to have another doctor in the house, even if you are just a veternarian," Jean also stated.
love bein' a vet, animals are just as frail as humans, but they've survived long enough to be on this planet. I'm just glad I don't have to be in hiding for the rest of my life." The mystery scot replied.
parked in front of the garage, which got Logan's attention. He walked out just as the three girls got out of the car.

Logan asked, "Who's the person in the cloak ans what's she doing here? Don't tell me, it's a new kid we all have to worry about." Logan snarled at the idea. "I have enought to deal with myself."
right, how far along is Marie in her pregnancy?"

"7 and a half months, I'm glad it's about over with. Just what is the kid in the cloak doing here?"

"Kid?! I highly doubt I'm a child," The woman in cloak said, removing her hood, revealing a beautiful oval face with light ivory skin, and egyptian shaped forest green eyes. The mouth that was speaking was plumb and red stained. Her hair was just the same color but darker, almost burgundy, and streaked with gold. Her ears were also pointed, like an elf's.

Logan gulped and could hardly speak at her sight. He was in a frustrated state, he couldn't believe what was in front of him. He finally found his voice when his wife of three years walked out into the garage.

"Logan, sugah, it's time for lunch. I thought I'd come out her-" She stopped dead in her tracks and smiled to biggest smile Logan ever seen on her. "Jeanne! I thought I'd never seen ya again, girl." She ran towards her and gave her a bear hug that was stronger than was natural.

"Marie, I can't beieve you're here, I never thought that you wou-"

"Hush Je, come on in, I want to see your god-daughter, since you've already met my husband. I've never seen him that quiet since I told him I was pregnant with his first child. Hahaa, now that was a time."

The old friends went inside to chat about old times, with Logan trailing close behind, keeping a close eye on the newcomer.

Inside, the students are in the dining room eating their lunch, when Rogue and her friend walk in, and everyone quiets. Hank and Storm walk in from the lab and eye the visitor warily.

Hank thought that he would die from the sight of her, *By george she's beautiful, I think I very readily know what they say by 'love at first sight'. He swallows his pride and walks over to Rogue and trys to strike up a conversation with her friend.

"Hello, I seem to think that you're new here, and I was wondering how you know Rogue?" Hank asked.

"Rogue?" Jeanne replied.

"Marie. I'm Hank, or Henry, whichever one people choose to call me, what, may I ask is your name is?"

"My name is Jeanne Wilde, others know me as Demon."

"Oh, you have a beautiful name. I hate to risk repeating myself, but just how do you know Marie?"

Jeanne smiled at him, " Thank you. Well I know her because I used to go to school with her when she lived in Scotland with a foster family.

"I never knew that she had a foster family, I am so sorry that she had to go through that."

"Well actually both of us did, we lived with the smae foster family and we became good friends immediately. We lost touch after our foster family died in a hurricane along the coast of Scotland, but it is so good to see her again. I never thought she would get married, she was always such a free spirit. I'm gald she lives in a place where she has such good friends.

"She still is. I'm so sorry that you both had to lose a family like that."

"They weren't much of a family to me. I didn't want to be crowded like that. Ahh, here is the proffessor." Hank looked in the way Jeanne pointed and the double doors that had open. They stopped talking just as the proffessor X wheeled in, followed by Scott.

"Ahh, Lady Wilde, what a pleasure to finally meet you."

"You do not have to call me 'Lady Wilde' anymore, I resigned from that position long ago. Although it does feel good to hear that title being said again." Jeanne replied.

"Well, Elizabeth did fill me in on how the fight against mutant registration is going, but didn't give the full details." Charles stated.

"That is not the reason I came here." Jeanne stated.

Marie came up beside Jeanne and put her hand on her shoulder. Hank held his breath. Jeanne looked over to Marie, then to Betsy (Elizabeth) and Jean Grey. Betsy nodded and Jean walked over to Demon (Jeanne) and held her hand out.

"You can go ahead and take off the cloak Demon, we'll be ready." Jean replied.

Demon reached up and unbuttoned her cloak letting it fall to the ground, what everyone saw startled them out of their daze. Jeanne's body was covered in bandages, and some of them were stained with blood.

Hank gasped and started towards her. Demon put up her hand and Betsy stopped him.

"She's not done yet, hold on Hank." Betsy said.

Demon ran her hands over the bandages and then ripped them off of her body. the gashes start to bleed and then they stopped, the blood reversed its path and went back inside the body, making them glow a deadly crimson. "This is the reason I came, the blood acts like it has a mind of its own. The only other reason it's doing this is because-" Jeanne doubled over in pain, then screamed, thrusting her body up toward the sky, and then fell down.

"Hank, go to her, she's going to need all the help she can get. There's not much time left before she goes into her other phase." Betsy informed Beast. Hank Looked at Betsy with a confused look on his face, until she pushed him in Jeanne's way.

"I'll do whatever I can.." He went over to her body and turned her over, just as he set her down on her back, she woke up and lashed out at him, leaving in her wake a giant gash across Hank's chest. Her eyes were dark black with specks of red throughout them. Hank grunted in pain, but didn't leave Demon's side. She didn't stop lashing out at him, until Beast growled at her, letting her know who was boss. Demon gutturally growled back at him, and flexed her hands, letting 6 inch claws grow out at a sickening pace.

Just as she was about to claw Hank again, Hank got an idea, * I just hope this works or I'm a dead man.* He caught her hands, pinned them to each side of her, and said, "Jeanne, please forgive me for doing this to you." She hissed at him and bared her fangs, Hank replied by letting her hands go and thrusted his hands into her hair, pulled her to him, and roughly kissed her on the lips, forcing her lips open. His tongue moved with precision, making Jeanne melt into his arms. When he finished, Jeanne passed out into his bloodied chest. Bewast picked her up and started carrying her towards the medical lab, when Logan stopped him.

"How the hell did ya know to kiss her?"

"I was married to a Scot before, they have quite a temper, and if you force them to kiss you back, it calms them down." Hank stated.

"Hell of an idea, Hank, hell of an idea." Logan replied.

Well, that's all for this chapter, Hope you like it.
2 teaser:

"Just what the hell happened to her, Elizabeth? Demon was acting like her namesake, she was an animal unlike others." Hank questioned PsyStrike.

"Why don't you wait and ask her when she wakes up." The Brit replied.

"I want to know now, why she was acting like a wild animal that was wounded."

"Then I guess I can tell you, since I want to know why the hell you forced your mouth onto mine." a mysterious voice stated.

Hank and Betsy whirled around in surprise and found Jeanne standing in the doorway...without a drop of blood on her.
