'Why am I running so fast?'

'It doesn't make any sense."

'I know what's going to happen!'

'But I still run!"

Hff. Hff.

She ran to a small house and stopped in front of the door. She took in deep breathes before reaching her hand out hesitantly toward the door. She grabbed the door knob tightly before slowly turning it. She pushed the door open quietly. She looked inside.

She gasped.

On the ground, in a puddle of blood with a knife stab in her stomach, a deep cut on her neck with blood still flowing from it, a cut on her arm and blood coming from her head, was Satu. Her older sister.

"Satu..." She muttered. "SATU!!"

Maemi gasped as she awoke from her nightmare.

"That dream again. It's just like the real thing." She muttered to herself.

"BUT WHY THAT!" She screamed as tears started to roll down her cheeks. "Why do I have to keep seeing Satu's body?" She asked.

"DAMMIT!" She screamed as she pounded the bed. "It's all because of me that she's dead! She protected me and that- that monster Folorec killed her! It's all because of me!"

"Maemi-san!" A small voice said from the door way.

Maemi looked over to see her little Acara, Messa. She had light purple skin and long ears.

"Hai Messa-chan?"

"We must leave. The Tamechies are going to find this place." Messa told her.

Maemi narrowed her eyebrows and nodded.

'Don't worry, Satu! I will avenge you! When I find the rest of the Nyoko's, Folorec will wish that he was never alive!'

Maemi held onto both of her backpacks straps as she walked with Messa down the deserted path.

She sighed.

"Hey, Messa-chan? Do you think that we could take a break? I'm tired."

Messa stopped in her walking and looked back at Maemi.

"Maemi-san! How do you expect to become the legendary collector of the Nyoko's if you can't even stand a little walk?"

"Hey! You should be happy that I even excepted your stupid offer! The only reason that I came on this journey is because this Folorec guy killed my Oneesan!"

"Fine, fine! No need to get angry. We'll take a break."

After finding a nice place on a rock, Maemi, took out an apple she had found.

"So, what is the deal with these gems?" She asked between bites. "Why does everyone want them?"

"Well, the Nyoko's are very powerful. Each one controls a different element and gives the person who uses it a different power. Fire, for example, gives someone the power of fire."

"Why is each one separated into two parts and how many are there all together?"

"One question at a time, please! In answer to your first, that's because the person who created them, Master Mage Traceian, was scared that the Nyoko's would fall into the wrong hands. So, to prevent that, he separated them and sent them to different parts of the world. There are 10 full pieced Nyoko's."

"There are 2 separate groups: the Main Elements and The Elements. The elements in the Special Elements group are The Ice, which controls the power of ice; The Dream, which controls the power of dreams; The Time, which controls the power of time; The Thunder, which controls the power of thunder; The Heal, which controls the power to heal; and The Illusion, which controls the power of illusion."

"The Main Elements are Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind. Those are pretty self-descriptive." Messa told her.

Maemi nodded, seeming to understand.

"What is the story anyway, Messa-chan? Can you tell me it?"

Messa sighed.

"It's long."

"I don't care."

"Fine, but you asked for it. Here it goes."

"Thousands and thousands of years ago, a magician created 10 powerful stones, each containing a different power and element."

"Alone, the stones are powerful, but together, they are incredibly strong and have enough power to destroy a planet and all of it's living beings."

"The magician created the stones for good, but evil got ear of them and tried to steal them away. The evils wanted to do nothing but evil with the stones. So the magician broke each stone into two parts and sealed them away in the future along with me, the guardian Acara, Messa. He sent me to the future where the legendary Nyoko Collector would be found."

"How do you know that I'm the real Nyoko Collector?" Maemi asked.

"You released me, didn't you? Only the person with the strength and heart of the Legendary Nyoko Collector could do that. Now let me continue."

"The stones, broken apart, have powers, but not as great as that of when two broken pieces are one, or the ten Nyoko's are all together. The Nyoko's grow in power as the person who holds the Nyoko has it for a longer time."

"The Nyoko's are neither good nor evil. They know no master and will answer to anyone, good or evil, human or not."

"What will happen if evil gets the Nyoko's?" Maemi asked.

"Evil will befall this world and everyone to come. If person with a good heart finds all of he Nyoko's, then good will happen."

"Wow. That's kinda scary... Um, Messa-chan? How am I so suppose to catch the Nyoko's?"

"The staff I gave you."

"You mean this little thing on my necklace? This catches them?" She asked, holding up the necklace that had the small key that Messa had given her the day before. It was just a plain brown key with a small stone on it that looked like half of one of the Nyoko's, with a littler one that looked exactly the same. On the other one was half of the Fire Nyoko.

Messa nodded.

"Sure does. All you have to do is repeat after me. First, stand up and close your eyes."

"First, stand up and close your eyes." Maemi repeated.

Messa sweat dropped.

"Not yet!!!" Messa screamed.

"Uh.... Gomen!" Maemi laughed, quickly standing up and closing her eyes.

"NOW repeat after me." Messa told her. "Key that has the power to capture, the power to seal..."

"Key that has the power to capture, the power to seal..." Maemi repeated.

"Give me the strength and power that you poses..."

"Give me the strength and power that you poses..."

"The power of courage, that which inside me I feel..."

"The power of courage, that which inside me I feel..."

"To silence this darkness and put it to rest..."

"To silence this darkness and put it to rest..."

"I feel your power growing deep inside..."

"I feel your power growing deep inside..."

"Release before me now, no longer to hide..."

"Release before me now, no longer to hide..."

"NYOKO KEY RELEASE!!"

"NYOKO KEY RELEASE!!" Maemi screamed.

Immediately following, Maemi was surrounded by wind and her key began to grow into a staff and she grabbed onto it.

Automatically, she felt a great surge of energy.

Everything on the staff have grown in size and was bigger. If she stood it up straight, the staff stopped at her shoulders.

"You see this little spot right here?" Messa asked, jumping up on Maemi's shoulder to be able to reach the staff's height. "There, you put the Nyoko you already have to use it's power."

Maemi nodded.

"Now, do I have to say a little chant thingie to use the Nyoko?"

"Hai. Repeat after me.... Are you ready?"

Maemi nodded again.

"I call upon the power of this Nyoko..."

"I call upon the power of this Nyoko..."

"I demand you to come to my aid..."

"I demand you to come to my aid..."

"With the power of.... Here you say the Nyoko's name.."

"With the power of Fire..."

"This evil's debts will soon be paid..."

"This evil's debts will soon be paid..."

"NYOKO OF FIRE!"

"NYOKO OF FIRE!" Maemi repeated.

"Good job! Right after you say that, the Nyoko will automatically go into the space it's suppose too."

Maemi reverted the key back to normal.

'Man. This is gonna be harder than I thought it would be. But I won't back down, not now! I will avenge my Oneesan!'
