Chapter 2

With a groan I let my eyes open. Sitting up in an unfamiliar living room, on an unfamiliar couch but with a very familiar face looking across at me.
“Hello darling, awake finally?” Kaz was beaming and I couldn't help but smile as well. He was just so adorable.
“I think... did you get the license number of that truck that hit me last night?” I rubbed my head and sat up on the couch.
“Tennessee plates, driven by a mister Daniels I believe.” Kiz walked into the room with a grin on his face and barely a shred of clothing on, antennae sprouting from his forehead and fairy wings flicking on his back.
“So another fairy? Thought you were a friend of Kaz's.” Kiz handed me a glass of orange juice and took a seat on the love seat across from the couch, leaning back and smiling still.
“I've known him for a long time, sorry about the misunderstanding. He was in such poor spirits that I thought you were being a real asshole to him. He is like my little brother after all.
Kaz joined me on the couch and leaned up against me. “Awww... Kiz... stop it you're embarrassing me.” I put an arm around him and held him in close, feeling infinitely better.
“You want embarrassing, Hun I'll show him the pictures I have of when you got your first thong.” Kiz grinned and shielded himself as Kaz tossed a pillow at him, both chuckling and smiling. They did seem to act like brothers.
I reached up and touched my face where I had received the punch from the biker fairy. It didn't even feel swollen and surprisingly I didn't even have a hint of a hangover. “Ummm... why is it that I don't have a hangover, or a single mark on me from that punch?”
Kaz looked over and giggled “I did that, I didn't want me big strong man to be all cranky in the morning, so I healed you.” I smiled at him and leaned over to exchange a gentle kiss, letting it linger for a long moment before I pulled back and let the little fairy lay limp on the couch beside me.
“Well I hate to interrupt this tender moment but I must be going, I have to go to the gym. If a human can land a punch on a former royal guard then I've gotten really out of practice. You two queens need to behave yourselves.” Kiz got up and walked to one of the bedrooms.
“It's King to you, fairy boy... and maybe I'm just that good.” I grinned and called after him, making the other fairy squirm and giggle in my lap.
Kaz smiled and relaxed with me and I stretched out with him for a while as well. My hands idly tracing circles on his flat stomach. I looked down at him and he paused to turn his gaze up to mine, our eyes locking as he blushed, whispering gently. “I love you, Kurt.”
I smiled wider and strokes over his cheek. “I love you too, Kaz.” I spoke softly as an idea crossed into my mind. “Say, Kaz? Do you think you'll be ok if I go run a few errands? There are just a couple things I wanted to get done.”
I heard him whimper as he sat up in my lap, pouting. “Awww... you'll be back soon right?”
I nodded and Kaz leaned over to kiss my lips warmly, wrapping his arms around my neck and keeping close, my tongue ever so softly caressing his lips as he opened up to me. Our embrace was long and loving but finally he pulled his tender lips back from mine, blushing. “Ok... you can go, sweetheart. Just make sure to come back as soon as you can manage.”
“Oh I will, Hun. I promise.” Kaz smiled and nodded gently as he let me up to get my shoes on, seeing me to the door and making sure I had the directions back. You'd think I was embarking on an expedition to the North Pole the way he was acting. I could understand where he was coming from really and it was pretty sweet.
Once I had managed to get out the door I headed for home, my step lighter and my smile broad as I enjoyed the warm day, glancing up to the sky now and again. The only thought in my mind was the warmth of the smile and the gentle touch of my boyfriend.
Heh, boyfriend. It was kind of odd. It just took one night with someone like him and I went from homophobic to gay. And I'm damn happy with it. But something wasn't exactly sitting right; there was a thought at the back of my mind that wouldn't let me rest. I really felt like I had to repay him for all the pain I caused. I needed him to know that I wasn't going to leave him again.
What kind of thing could you get for someone you wouldn't trade for anything in the world? Nothing I could possibly give would show how I truly felt. It was like trying to put a price on Kaz himself.
As I walked I glanced at store windows, everything didn't seem fitting of someone like him. Just as I thought I would never find anything that would befit Kaz I paused, looking at a small shop close to my apartment and what lay in the window there. “That's it... that's perfect!” I smiled and practically bolted up to the apartment to get what I needed.
I couldn't wait to see the look on Kaz's face when I would present him with his little gift from me. It was going to be a hell of a nice day.
