Two Different Lives
Beep! Beep! Beep! BEEEEEEEEEP!
Covering his head with his pillow, Sora growled as the annoying alarm clock buzzed beside his bed. He reached out his hand and groped for it, sighing contently as he grasped the alarm clock in his hand, he flung it across the room, grinning under the pillow.
Silence…
What he loved to hear…beautiful…silence.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
“Ah!” Rolling off his bed with a start, Sora glanced around his unlit room, his cobalt blue orbs, weary and his spiky cinnamon hair pointing disorderedly. He crawled around on his navy blue carpet and growled as the irritating noise continued to further bother him.
“Alright! I’m awake!” As if on cue, he found his alarm clock again and silenced it as he tapped the snooze button. “Well…then…”
Sighing, Sora stood and tottered over toward his light switch, groping around he finally found it and flipped it on only to groan from the bright intensity.
“Stupid light…” He massaged his temples and trailed over toward his bulky oak dresser. Opening it, Sora picked out a green Polo shirt and flung it on his large baby blue sheeted bed, then he closed the first drawer and bent down, flashing his black and red checkered boxers from under his black pajamas to open the second drawer where he picked out a pair of khaki baggy shorts and he threw them beside his shirt, he straightened his body up, and closed this drawer with his foot.
Pacing over toward his bed, Sora began to silently strip off his pajamas and dress himself in the attire he picked out for the day. Walking over to his body-sized golden framed mirror, he cast a hand through his cinnamon locks of spiky hair and ambled over toward his dresser again; picking up his brush and then walking back to the mirror to watch his self as he brushed his hair.
Today is…um…Wednesday? No! It’s Thursday because I’m going to the beach with Tidus and Wakka tomorrow with Selphie and Kairi! Grinning, Sora finished and flung his brush onto the bed and gazed at the mess of clothes on the floor. The maid should clean it…

A warm breakfast and silent wave goodbye to his mother later, Sora found himself sitting in his black limo and on his way to school. The day seemed to be turning out well (despite his mother was too busy to come eat breakfast with him). Turning the radio on, some screaming and a very heavy guitar solo began to play and he quickly switched the station and rap began to play. He shrugged his shoulders and listened to the lyrics.
Caroline! Caroline!
All the guys would say she's mighty fine
But mighty fine only got you somewhere half the time
And the other half either got you cursed out, or coming up short
Yeah, now dig this, even though
You'd need a golden calculator to divide
The time it took to look inside and realize that
Real guys go for real down to Mars girls, yeah!
Brows furrowing, Sora switched the station yet again to find himself listening to the new pop star diva Yuna singing her heart out:
And though I know the world of real emotion has surrounded me
I won't give in to it
Now I know that forward is the only way my heart can go
I hear your voice calling out to me:
"You'll never be alone"
Shaking his head (he just didn’t feel like listening to this right now…), Sora changed the station for the last time (deciding to stick with whatever he got). Turning it up so he could hear it, Sora’s cobalt blue orbs enlarged as he listened.
Like a virgin
Touched for the very first time
Like a virgin
When your heart beats
Next to mine
Groaning, Sora placed his head in his hands and let out a shaky sigh. Why did the world want to torture him at this very instant? Why did the world have to remind him that he was still a virgin…he was a freakin’ junior! Even Selphie, the most innocent girl in school got laid just last week (he knew everything that went around school and Selphie was one of his friends). Sighing, Sora gazed out the window and watched as the limo passed groups of girls, who were staring at his limo with glittering orbs of awe and the geeks at the school, who stared at it and bowed their heads in shame, wishing they were that lucky to even touch a limo. Sometimes…Sora wished he was a normal lucky-go-happy teenager…he wished he could drop this stupid façade he always had and he just wished he could be himself! He wished his mother had enough time to care about him…he wished he wasn’t a virgin anymore.
Wait! Why was he complaining? Sora was one of the most popular boys at school (and by far one of the richest). So what if he hadn’t got laid yet? Wasn’t that a good thing? He could save his virginity for the one he loved…
Rolling his eyes and sticking out his tongue, Sora shook his head and crossed his arms in a pout. “ I should be happy with what I have…other kids wished they were me!” He nodded, concurring with his own self and smiled as the limo stopped in front of the school. “Alright…happy day at school!”
He grinned and watched as a horde of people crowded around his limo as if a celebrity appeared on the scene. Sora stepped out and closed the door behind him, waving David (the limo driver) off and he trudged toward Destiny High School. The school was massive! With tall walls painted white, the school was a beautiful sight, even though it was a public school, it seemed like it was a private school from afar, but on the inside it was nothing like the beauty on the outside. Graffiti covered the school walls and in the school bathrooms (which Sora liked to avoid) and most of the trouble (or at least a fraction) was caused by one person. Whatever…it wasn’t such a big deal. Waving to people he hardly knew and to girls that were eyeing him with impish expressions, he sighed. Why couldn’t he pick out one of those girls and get laid? What was so hard about that? He heard guys do it all the time!
Because I don’t want to be like everyone else…anyway that’s too mean…
Sighing, he heard the bell ring in the distance and gazed up at the sun, only to shade his cobalt orbs.
What a wonderful day…
Suddenly, something bumped into him and knocked him off the ground. Ouch…that hurt… “Ow…” He rubbed his butt and glanced up to see the Prince of Punks…the King of Pranks…Riku…the person who will (and does) graffiti the school for fun…the person that liked to prank the most innocent people…Sora had heard stories about him and wondered if they were really true…from the look of him…it seemed like the stories were true.
He was wearing a hoody with the words ‘Punks not Dead’ on the front. His silver hair was pulled back into a pony tail and he was wearing black bondage shorts with straps and zippers and pockets that were everywhere. Sora gazed down to see Converse-looking sneakers with a black skull on the toe. His gaze rose up to look at the infamous Prince of Punks.
“Hey….I’m sorry?” His piercing jade orbs gazed at Sora with a small smirk on his pink lips. His silver locks of hair was reflected by the sun and a pale hand nonchalantly was stretched out to help him up.
“Sora.” Sora gripped the other boy’s pale hand with his own tan hand and was gradually lifted to his feet, pressed against the other male’s body. A blush tented Sora’s cheeks and he back away, letting go of Riku’s hand. “Thanks…”
“No problem Sora…”
Sora shuddered. That deep sexy voice…saying…his name! He sighed and averted his gaze away from the attractive teen.
Wait! Attractive? I like girls! G-I-R-L-S! I am not gay…even though he is pretty attractive…wait no! NO! Sora pull your self together…
BRIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNGG!
The second most annoying bell in his life ring out into the silence that passed between the boys. Sora groaned and shook his head. “Crap…now I’m late…”
Riku shrugged it off as if it were nothing. “It seems to me you’ve never been late before, rich boy.”
Rich boy? Well I am rich…
“Um…actually in the third grade-”
“Come on.” Riku motioned for Sora to follow him. “I’ll help you out…”
“Oh…” Sora blinked and smiled. “Thank you!” He never knew that the Prince of Punks was so kind…
“Yeah…” Chuckling, Riku shook his head making his silver locks shift to and fro, gleaming from the sun’s rays.
So, Sora followed Riku and discovered that Riku really knew his way around school. Speaking of school, Sora wondered why he really never noticed Riku before. Yes, Sora heard the notorious stories about Riku and all his pranks he pulled on different people, but…the Riku that was helping him…he seemed almost too perfect…
Hmm…
“Hey Riku…?”
Riku must have been deep in thought for when he turned to gaze into Sora’s cobalt orbs, he shook his head as if in a daze.
“What?”
“What class do you have now?”
Riku was silent and then he turned to gaze straight ahead of him. His hands slipped inside his pockets and he shrugged his shoulders, a small smile craved on his pink lips, even though Sora couldn’t glimpse it. “Music…”
“Really?! I love music!” Sora bounced closer to Riku and began to walk side-by-side with him. “What instrument do you play?”
“Electric guitar…” He replied with a shrug.
What a stupid question! Sora should have guessed! It was so like Riku to play a guitar. Wait? He didn’t even barely know Riku…how could he know how he was really like?
“That’s cool…” Sora smiled and sighed. This school was too huge for it’s own good. “I think this school should be smaller…how about you?”
“For a rich boy…you sure do like to talk a lot.” Riku chuckled, which resulted in Sora blushing for some unfamiliar reason and Sora averted his gaze away from the other boy.
There was an elongated silence. Only their footsteps reverberating on the cemented walkway was heard and Sora sighed. He hated awkward silences. Maybe he should say something…no…Riku already said that he talked to much…maybe he should-
“So what class should you be in now?” Riku asked and a smirk crept on his face. “Let me guess…Economics…”
“No!” Sora crossed his arms in a pout. “Just because I’m rich doesn’t mean I want to get richer!”
Abruptly, Riku began to shake, holding his laughter in that was dying to burst free. He glanced over at Sora with twinkling orbs of a jade hue and then averted his gaze away, finally letting his laughter loose, which echoed through the silence. Sora continued to pout, which resulted in more laughter from the silver-haired boy.
“What is so funny?!” Sora demanded, halting and stamping his foot down. “Why are you laughing at me?!”
Riku stopped and turned toward Sora, his orbs glittering. “I’m sorry…it’s just…that made no sense and you sounded like a child just a minute ago! It was so adorable!” Riku suddenly stopped and froze, and turned away from Sora, who unnoticed the blush tenting Riku’s heart-shaped face.
Damn…okay…now you’re not acting like yourself…be you Riku…be yourself.
Grinning, Riku took out a piece of paper out of one of his many pockets and a pen from another one. Scribbling on the piece of white ripped up paper, he folded it and handed it to Sora, with a grin plastered on his face.
“Here’s my number! Call me, okay?”
Sora took the piece of paper and blinked. “But-” He glanced up and looked around. Where did he go?

Sitting in second period, Riku sighed and leaned back against his chair, closing his jade orbs and sighing contently. This was his lucky day…
His parents didn’t bother with him today except give him some money (which he gladly excepted) and he dashed out the door before he was late to school. Then he collided into the small brunette that was late for class. He didn’t even help him get an accountability slip, so he wouldn’t get detention, but Riku bet all the rich boy had to do was give the teacher a fifty dollar bill and they would shut up. That’s probably how he was passing school…hmm…why was he thinking of the brunette now anyway?
Maybe he felt bad…since he did prank the gullible cinnamon-haired boy. Which was as easy as giving candy to a baby. Chuckling softly, Riku cracked his neck and sighed once again, a smile tugging at his lips. Yeah…now what else should I do? That was too novice for me…maybe I should prank some of Sora’s friends…maybe that cute blond boy that Sora always hangs out with…wait? Cute? Hmm…how…interesting.
So he was learning something new everyday. He was turning gay…
“Riku!”
He snapped out of his thoughts and opened his jade orbs, slowly, keeping his cool demeanor. “Yeah?”
The teacher was a gruff looking teacher with his blond hair and tooth pick in his mouth. Cid Highwind was a real character. Cursing in front of his class all the time and mumbling that he should quit this ‘goddamn job’, Cid actually had a heart of gold (especially when it came to Riku). Even the first prank that Riku pulled on Cid (which consisted of a porn magazine and a picture of Cid’s own face), well…the man actually laughed when he saw a picture of his head on a woman’s body (even though he didn’t know at the time that it was on the school website) and gave Riku some pointers (because he was such a novice at the time…).
“Alright mister smart ass…” Cid smirked, which resulted in Riku smirking right back. I’ve played these dumb tricks before Cid…this is so-
“Tell me…what is the name of the ninth planet from the sun?”
Yes, Cid was the Science teacher…actually AP Science and Riku only shook his head. What a dumb question…that was-
“And give me the Mean Distance in kilometers…”
Oh…he’s good…
Riku crossed his arms and frowned. “Well…the ninth planet from the sun is Pluto, but…um…”
“That’s what I thought…” Cid replied coolly and Riku snapped his jade orbs up to gaze at him. Cid just shook his head and sighed. “Maybe if you kept your fucking smart ass on Earth maybe you would have know the answer…” Then he mumbled something that sounded like ‘goddamn teenagers’ and he smiled gazing over Riku and pointing to something.
“Alright Sora. What’s the answer?”
“The answer is 5,900 million kilometers.” The brunette answered joyously with a large grin plastered on his cute face.
Riku’s body froze and as if in slow motion, he turned his head to gaze upon the brunette that he ran into this morning. His jade orbs blinked a couple of times and then he turned back to face the front.
How long has he been in here? It’s what? The second semester and I’ve never noticed him before?
Riku turned his head back to gaze at Sora again, who was gazing at him with a smile. Sora waved to Riku, which resulted in a ‘ahem’ from Cid. So Riku turned around and sheepishly grinned at Cid, which shook his head and turned his back to the class, focused on the board.
Just two more classes…that’s all…
Destiny High School had blocked scheduling, which Riku cherished in times he just wanted to go home and sleep, though that meant a longer class period, Riku didn’t mind since this year he had pretty much everything he asked for. Even though people thought he was all looks and no brains…well…they didn’t exactly know him (since he was in all AP classes and he did care about the grades he got).
GRRRRRRRRRR!!!
Startled Riku glanced around and searched for what made that loud noise. The other students were doing the same, except Sora which sat there with a blush tenting his cheeks.
GGRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!
The whole class turned to gaze at Sora in shock and Sora shrugged his shoulders, grinning sheepishly. One hand was on his growling stomach and the other was scratching the back on his head.
“Sorry!”
BRIIIIIIIIIINNNG!
The students began to pack up there materials and file out of the classroom.
“Don’t forget to read pages 237 through 240 tonight!” Cid yelled after his students, but shrugged and departed with them. Like Cid always said to Riku, ‘If you can’t beat them…fucking join them!’
Riku began to amble out the door when a hand grasped his arm in an attempt to stop him. Riku turned to gaze at Sora with his black book bag slung on his shoulders and a small on his lips. Riku’s silver brow rose.
“What?”
“I just want to say…” Sora paused and averted his gaze away from Riku. “Thanks again…”
“Huh?”
“For helping me!” Sora grinned and rubbed the back of his head, “I mean you didn’t have too and then you just disappeared before I could thank you again.”
“Yeah…no problem…” Riku began to saunter off. That boy is too nice for his own good…though he is cute…hmmm…I guess being gay isn’t so bad…if I’m gay at all…Riku chuckled and cast his pale hand through his silver locks of hair. “Well…off to lunch…”
