Rainbow Six: Paris Incident

“Ding, we've got another one for you.” The infamous words come into the Hereford briefing room. “A minor stint in France has escalated, and you are the closest people who can do anything about it.” The screen lights up with images of a city of a large size. “This is Paris, as you all know. The aggressors are holding up in a bank on the far side. This looks like a robbery gone wrong, but I think there's something more. You'll be inserting through the roof, which means you'll be arriving by helicopter. They've taken two hostages, and are demanding a chopper already, so you're going to have a bit of a surprise element on this one. Take who you like, but only four will be necessary. Good luck gentlemen.”

 

As the helicopter comes in, Weber scopes out the roof. “I see two guards, armed with AK's. Easy enough.” Ding watches the door, and then speaks. “Easy yes, but luck doesn't care about easy. Keep on your toes, and with the sound of the chopper coming in, it'll be sure to draw them up to the roof.” The pilot yells “Thirty seconds to drop!” They all keep their weapons ready, and as the chopper touches down, they kill the two guards. “Flank that door, if anyone comes out I want them dead as soon as they step through!” Thirty seconds later, three men come through the door, and Rainbow opens up. They enter the building, going down a flight of stairs to the third floor.

They enter into a long hall, lined with doors. They start a systematic search of every room, and find no enemies. They move to the second floor, and with the exception of two guards watching the stairwell, no one is there. They move to the first floor, where the fun begins. As they exit the stairwell, they find three men guarding the door. With a well-placed frag grenade, they are all taken care of. They move on to an open room, with two guards on the floor. They take them out, and move on. Next they reach a hallway that has two doors. With the possibility of the hostage being here, they throw flashbang grenades in both rooms before entering. In one room, they find the hostage, and the other; they find two men just sitting around. The hostage is rescued, and the men detained. They move on to the teller area, and find the multitude of enemies, but amongst them is the hostage. They throw in smoke grenades, and remove the hostage in cover of smoke. They then open up with their guns and grenades until no one is left standing. They hand the hostages and detainees to the police, then return to their chopper to head back to Hereford.

 

“Well done Rainbow. From the information we extracted from the captured robbers, this actually was just a robbery gone wrong. That is still no excuse to keep Rainbow off of them. For now that's all, enjoy these types of situations, where it's only a one shot deal. You don't get these that often. And until next time, keep it safe.”
