Fan Fiction ❯ Red Moon ❯ Red Moon ( Chapter 1 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
I flew by your house that summer night
And the moon was red, as though banished from hell,
And a few trees stood gnarled in your pretty back yard;
They would grow from fire, and be black.

.\
My ears on the wind were as ears that search
Under wild stories of times to come;
And one word stood vacant on the pages
On which you could find the most of my hate.
.\
.\
The frown on my face was living
Decayed enough to starve for strength,
And a shiver of doubt hung in the darkness
Like a wondrous, hidden snake.
.\
.\
And now, vague memories that sorrow reveals
And caresses, with certainty, have set me free.
My body, and devil-banished moon, and charcoal
And a crumbling house.
