Reflection

I look into the mirror and see a reflection.

The glass shatters and I shatter with it,

But my reflection remains.

It was I who was never there.

My life was nothing more than a reflection,

But now that I am shattered,

I do not have to worry any longer

The pressures the world had set on my shoulders are no longer.

And for that release,

I am grateful.

 

Eh...this is just something I thought up one day....not really the poem so much as the idea that our lives could just be reflections and that what we think is our reflection is really, you know, us. Hmm....guess we'll never know, ne?
