Kalrad looks around the room at his new squad mates. He then breaks the silence be asking, "So, what's your names and what room do you live in?"

The female Kalarian shade look up and says, "My name is Defra. You know where I live."

Then, a person who looks like he's an elf says, "I'm Togana, the last of the freed Gretanians. My room number is 6821. I've been living here for a while, but have had no squad until now. Oh, and I have been trained as a soldier."

A human who looks pretty week and fragile looks up and says, "I'm Jerry. I'll be your groups medic, if you need one. My room is 1682 in the medical office."

A half-ling then says, "I'm Hater, room number 8162. I'll be your sniper." He gets up, and one person whispers something about him being so short.

Kalrad then gets up. He looks at his squad and then says, "Go back to your rooms. I think we can continue this later. The officer looks at him like he's done something wrong.

The officer says, "Kalrad, why are you letting them leave now. They should train."

Kalrad responds with, "They will train. And not how you think. I'm planning on having them do team-building stuff, not your classic `lets go out and see who can hit the most training dummies' bullshit! That's what makes a team weak. After they're a good team, then they'll move on to their combat training."

Kalrad gets up to go back to his room, almost forgetting about Defra. He looks back at Defra on his way out and says, "You want to see your new room?" He then stands there, ready for a response. Defra just gets up quietly and walks over to Kalrad.

She then starts to say something, but then decides not to. She finally says, "I'll follow you, leader." Kalrad looks stunned by the addition of leader to the sentence. He then walks out of the room with Defra following him. Five minutes latter, their back in Kalrad's room. Defra looks at Kalrad and says, "I'll gladly take the floor or the couch."

Kalrad looks at her and says, "Take where ever you want, I don't care! Just for your information though, that part of the floor," Kalrad points a few blankets on the floor, "is mine. You can take anywhere in here you like!"

Defra walks over an empty spot on the floor on the opposite side of the room and sets her stuff down there. She then opens up a pack she had and took out a few blankets for her portion of the floor. She then explores the rest of Kalrad's room until she finds what she's looking for. She stops in the middle of the doorway to another one of Kalrad's rooms. You see, Kalrad had requested a large room, so they gave him two rooms! Kalrad notices that Defra has stumbled upon his second room and says, "I was waiting for you to find it. That whole room can be yours, just ask and it will be your room."

Defra looked at Kalrad and said, "Can I have that room?"

Kalrad looks back at her and says, "Of course! But I do have one thing to ask you. You seem a little odd to me. Your comment about how I'm not cut up, how you seem to be a silent person, and the fact that it seems like you like the color black. Did something happen to you a long time ago? You just seem to be… odd."

After Defra finished moving her stuff, she looked at Kalrad and said, "I was a hunter. I was out on the hunt one day with some of my friends when a Republic officer and his group slaughtered my friends. He let only me survive. I was taken into slavery for a few years until a revolution squad entered my `owner's' camp. The revolution squad killed the `owner' and took all of the slaves back to here. And then I was assigned a squad and trained in being a shade as they called it. What about you?"

Kalrad looks back and says, "Very similar to your history, except I was just starting my job. I was supposed to be a miner, so I was on my way to the mines when my friends and I were attacked by a group of Republic soldiers. They took all of us as slaves for different places. I was the lucky one who just had to work on a farm. Nothing hard to do for me besides having little or no rest every night. A revolution group came here, killed the `owners' and took us back to see if we wanted to be warriors in their little war. I said yes, they handed me a gun and some armor, and put me in a squad. Well, I think its time for my first training exercise." Kalrad then calls up his commander. After waiting for a while, his commander answers the phone. He says, "I request to use the team obstacle course. Training for my squad." After talking for a little while, he finally hangs up. He goes over to Defra and says, "Ready for a quick practice?"

She looks up at him and says very quietly, "Yes. I am."

Kalrad goes back to the phone and calls up the rest of his squad. They then go down to the training field where their first challenge awaits.
