Rip Me, Tear Me
~
The moon was black. Zyrux looked up again. Ok, it was actually white. But it looked so pale….
It set the grass pearly white; the trees in shadows. Zyrux shivered. Why did Joshua ask her to stop here? The normally warm playground was dark and dab at night; never mind, it was downright creepy.
Zyrux cursed. She wished that she had worn her wool sweater; the wind was picking up. It howled around her, like a viper going in for the kill. Zyrux felt as if knots were sliding around her, keeping her there. It was when her black hair was flying around her that she saw a thin silhouette a couple feet away from her. Zyrux strained her emerald eyes. Was her eyes playing tricks on her again or was there two figures?
“Zyrux.” She shivered at the voice ripping the air. Who was that?
Suddenly, Zyrux felt light piercing her eyes. Blinded for a moment, she backed away.
“Don’t go back.” Joshua jumped forward like a falcon on a mouse, snatching her arm in a painful grip. Zyrux cried out. Never has she felt Joshua’s nails so jagged.
“Hold her down, will you?” Another voice seared into Zyrux’s mind. She opened her eyes to see…
Blood. Zyrux realized that they were eyes a few moments after. She gasped as she recognized them.
They were Joshua’s eyes. The familiar gray eyes were no more, replaced by ruby eyes with no pupils. His black hair flared around his shoulders, no longer in a ponytail. He smiled an eerie smile, baring his teeth. Zyrux saw the canines were in sharp points, an inch long each. She looked down and saw that his fingernails were like claws, digging into her skin. Zyrux bit her lip as she felt her skin getting punctured.
“This her?” Another face loomed in onto Zyrux. She couldn’t tell who it was.
It was a diamond face with black eyes and hair. Long curved eyelashes accented the almond-shaped eyes. She looked Asian, perhaps Chinese or Japanese. Her hair was wild around her and she was holding a candle, the source of light.
“Hmm...... Completely innocent, eh?” Her voice was light and with no emotion. It was hard to follow her.
“Yessss, innocent and alone,” Joshua hissed. Zyrux was confused. What was going on?
“Very well. Listen, girl, I will only say this once. Your friend is no longer human. He is a half vampyre, half demon. Part of my hybrid group of killers.” Zyrux flinched. No way. What the hell was the girl talking about? Vampyres, demons, killers what in the world? They were playing a joke on her, laughing at her.
“I assure you this is no joke. Perhaps you have heard of us. Or maybe one of our friends. Jack the Ripper, no?”
“Liars. Why do you bother wasting your breath on me? I know you’re lying and trying to make me scared. It’s not happening.” Actually, she was scared silly. Her boyfriend was crazy looking; some freakish girl was scaring the crap out of her and no one was around.
“Good. You don’t need an explanation. Okay, Joshua, you may rip off her arm.”
At first, Zyrux was unaware of the danger. But a moment too soon, she felt a blazing pain on her arm and suddenly, it was not there anymore. In its place was a bloody stump. Zyrux screamed in pain.
“Look at your little friend.” The unknown girl turned Zyrux from her bloody stump to Joshua’s face. He was ripping off the muscle with unbelievable force, chewing on it and exposing bloody bones.
“Now, her other arm.”
“No, Joshua, don’t!” Zyrux shrieked again as she felt her tendons and ligaments falling away in her right arm, her skin looking like paper ripped on a birthday present.
“She doesn’t like the pain. Rip her heart out and be done with it.” Zyrux gasped as she watched Joshua obey. She felt him mercilessly plunge into her body, his claws tearing her arteries, dodging her bones, looking for her heart.
His prize.
She felt him take it out, watched her heart beat twice, spurting blood before the pain took her to the hell gates.
“Only when one takes the heart of the innocent will they have proven themselves a demon. Only when has there blood spilled has it done. Only if I, Cyruz Tasikanto, seen the kill happen has the ritual been completed.” And the girl threw back her head and laughed hysterically, the night watching the two forms, one laughing, one feasting on blood and meat.
And Cyruz Tasikanto watched a red sun rise.
