Fan Fiction ❯ Rose Petals ❯ Celia Mark: Murder or Suicide? ( Chapter 1 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Author's Notes: Hello everyone! This story is co-written by a very talented friend of mind who contributed her characters and insight. You may notice a lot of the characters have non-human hair colors; pink, etc. As well as un-naturally colored eyes.

The reason for this is simply because it's intended to be anime-like. We're considering creating a manga/web comic for it. Also, there really is no set 'time period' because it's basically AU. So, it has qualities of modern, future and medieval time sets. Hopefully, it's not too confusing. As a last note, the military ranking this story is using is as follows: ColonelLieutenant-ColonelMajorCaptain1st Lieutenant2nd LieutenantSergeant MajorSergeantCorporalLance CorporalPrivate

----------------------------------------------------------"Her name was Celia Mark..."

The drums beat steadily. Thump, thump, thump.

"They said it was suicide at first. She was found in her bed with a dagger in her heart and rose petals everywhere. They say there was even a note, but they won't tell us what's on it." The woman speaking was nothing more than a maid to the rather large estate where one of many nations conducted it's business. The individual she spoke to was the same. Just two gossping maids standing on the balcony and watching as the men and women in blue uniforms marched their prisoner down the longest and last walk of his life.

Waiting at the end were two people dressed in black. A woman of 22 and a man of 30. The woman stood at average height, a fairly thin frame. Black hair framed her face and fell over her shoulders. Her gleaming blue eyes burned with some unspeakable hate. There was a touch of red lipstick, but otherwise no make up. Most women in army uniforms didn't concern themselves with such things.

The man was slightly tall. His dark brown beard was kept cut and neat, and despite the person next to him, his green eyes were calm, brown hair russling just a tad as a gentle breeze brushed through.

"That's Colonel Hanson Mark," the maid offered. "And 2nd Lieutenant Mark. They were Celia's parents. Rumor has it the marriage was forced onto Rori to keep peace between to families. They say she still doesn't like her husband, but everyone talks about how much she loved her daughter."

"Then would why she kill herself?" the second woman squeaked.

"Well, Rori couldn't believe that she did," the first explained quietly. No one was working right now. All had gathered to watch the march. "So they looked into it further. You see that man down there?" She made a motion to the person. He was in his late 20s at most, dark purple hair and the oddest red eyes one would ever see. They had no pupils, though he wasn't blind. "He's being put to death because supposedly there's evidence that he killed Rori. His name is Kimbley, but nobody knows his last name. He's the leader of a huge group of rebels that even claim to be their own nation. They've been causing trouble for a LONG time now!"

"Oh, my," squeaked the smaller of the housekeepers. Both of them went silent as Kimbley reached the two parents. Not just them, but the whole world it seemed. Not even the birds dared to make a sound. It appeared like no one even breathed in the few agonizing seconds that Rori reached for her gun, held it out and placed her finger on the trigger.

Silence, then a loud BANG! The man known only as Kimbley fell over dead, a bullet hole in the dead center of his forehead, and his strange red eyes wide open but lifeless. The crowds around erupted into cheers

What a joy to get revenge on the one who killed the 11-year-old girl they'd all come to know and love.
