~~Chapter 7: New Feelings…~~

Having just put dinner on simmer, Andy walked back into the living room. "So about these promises I agreed to." She asked earnestly.

"What about them?" Matt said turning to look at her from his laptop. She wrung her hands nervously.

"I can't go back to the same school. My dad could have informed them and they could send me back home."

"No problem. I was thinking about that," he turned the laptop so she could look at the screen. "It's the school I graduated from. I know the principal's daughter, I'm sure he'd have no problem taking on a new student." She raised a sarcastic eyebrow. "Not like that, we were friends, she's only ten years old for crying out loud." She blushed and laughed lightly.

"Ok. Now about the clothes. I have no money and I don't want to impose on you, you've done enough already. I could try getting a part time job like before, but I don't think anyone around here would hire me." He pinned her with a very annoyed look.

"Look, I said I'd get you clothes, and I'm gonna get you clothes. Don't worry about the cost." She bit at her lip nervously. I can't actually ask him about that…can I? "What?" he said noticing her nervous expression. She shook her head.

"Nothing. I was just wondering about the being happy." She smiled. "When you made me promise, you made it sound so hard." Just then the food timer went off and she all but ran to get away from the awkward situation. Come on Andy, pull yourself together. It doesn't matter how nice or sweet or…handsome he is. He's just helping you out and probably doesn't think about you in any other way than a burden. She winced at the harsh reality of her words. He's just being nice and looking out for someone who needs help. She shook her head as she dished out the meal. She walked out and placed a dish in front of him. She prayed he didn't notice the huge blush staining her cheeks. He did. He suppressed a smirk knowing how she felt. They ate in relative silence, neither one daring enough to bring up the awkward subject.

~~Time elapse~~

It took a few days but Matt finally got Andy into his old school. He had to smooth talk like he never had in his life. Andy was still plagued by nightmares and Matt was always right there to help her through them. Things were going good.

~~Andy's new school~~

"Shelia. Hey what's up? Did you get the math homework done?"

"Nope, I didn't understand it. Hey are those new jeans they look awesome. Where did you get em?"

"Dervyn's. You know that new clothing store by the mall. I thought they were so cute. Matt certainly liked them." She said grinning to her new friend.

"Awesome. I know my older brother wouldn't go near a women's department in clothing unless it was to see the pretty girls try on skimpy tops and jeans. My brother is so shallow."

"Well, I'm not exactly sure that's not the reason Matt takes me to go shopping. I think he like to watch me try on new out fits. Not that I mind." She smiled mischievously at the girl next to her.

"You are so bad! Ha-ha. Well you're pretty enough."

"What are you on? I'm no where near as pretty as you."

"Yes you are, girl give yourself some credit."

"Am not."

"Are too."

"Am not"

"Are too. Hey babe." Shelia said as she bumped into her boyfriend.

"Hey lovely." He said giving her a sweet kiss on the cheek.

"Now, you get to settle our little disagreement. Do you think Andy is pretty?" His eyes widened at her question.

"Now I can answer this truthfully and you'd get jealous or I can lie and hurt her feelings. Either way I'm in the dog house, so I choose not to answer." He said wisely. Shelia elbowed him in the stomach lightly and glared at him playfully.

"That's not an answer. I promise I won't get jealous or mad, unless you hurt her feelings. Then you're a dead man."

"Of course she's pretty, I mean look at her!" he said finally. Shelia turned a triumphant grin to Andy.

"See I told you." Just then they heard the bell ring and had to scamper off to class. The last thing Andy heard was Shelia giving her boyfriend the third degree. "So, you think she's pretty? Is she prettier then me?" Andy smacked her forehead exasperatedly. Poor guy, can't any thing right. She's either yelling at him for hurting a friends feelings or that he said something nice about another girl. The guy can't get a break. She finally reached her class and sat in her seat. The day seemed to drag and last forever. Finally the last bell rang and Andy met up with Shelia and her boyfriend, who had made up. They walked towards the parking lot and Andy bid her friends goodbye as she climbed into the passenger seat of Matt's car.

"So how was your day?" Matt questioned as he turned onto the street heading home.

"Good and yours? Anything interesting happen at the restaurant today?"

"Nope, same old same old. I was kinda lucky I got out when I did. I heard from Marcy that once I left the three o'clock boom came in and it was crowded and busy." he scrunched his face up. "That wouldn't have been fun to wait on." He shivered at the thought.
"Ohh, I know what that's like." She said smiling. "Well, I can't wait to get home, I have so much homework. Do you think you could help. It's pretty easy." He nodded and turned into the garage. She pulled out her bag and helped him with some bags he had in the back. The homework was quite easy and she really didn't need his help, but it was nice to have reassurance. A little later, he began to make dinner. "Mm. smells good. What is it?" She said leaning on the counter. He quickly snatched his gaze away from her. The way she leaned on the counter, thrust her chest out making it very obvious to him. No you can't, you're here to help, not to take advantage of her. Still, even thinking that, it was hard to suppress the evident bulge growing in his slacks.

"Chicken Marcela. Family recipe, I decided to try out. Question for you." She looked at him with a questioning gaze. "You said before that your birthday was coming up. How soon?"

"Actually it's the day after tomorrow. I never pictured that I'd be spending it without my father. I'm sorry to say it but I'm kinda happy I am."

"So what do you want?"

"Nothing. Well, I'd actually like to go see a movie; I haven't been since junior high. Then I'd probably just want to stay at home, eat a nice meal and stay up late just…being normal." Her breathing stalled in her throat at the smoldering gaze he pinned on her. "Well, I'm gonna go finish off some extra credit homework." Once she walked out of his sight, she had a full body shiver. Why? Why must I be cursed? Andy, pull yourself out of it! If a junior didn't want you what would a man want with you? She shrugged her shoulders and continued onto `her' room.

It seemed like only a few moments before Matt was calling her name to tell her dinner was ready. She walked cautiously to the dinning room, all the while nibbling on her lower lip. He motioned for her to take a seat and once she was seated he came up behind her and scooted her chair in. She smiled down at her plate. He dished out a plateful of food and set the dish in front of her. The smell was exquisite and it made her mouth water. He sat down opposite of her and started to dig in. She took a mouth full and chewed. It was delicious. Of course, a guy living on his own had better know how to cook, but I'm not even this good, and I was basically running my old home. He took a sip of water and looked over at her thoughtful face. His eyebrows scrunched together in confusion.

"What are you thinking about?" she snapped out of her trance and smiled brilliantly.

"That you are a great cook. In fact I'm kinda jealous. When I was cooking it never came out this good, or so…or so my dad said." She looked down at the plate with regretful eyes. "I miss him. I miss a family. You know? Never know what you have until it's too late." She said in a soft whisper like tone. He looked down, and, against his better judgment, pressed the subject.

"What happened? Why did you run away?" she looked up at him but then seemed to look past him, as her eyes glazed over in remembrance.

"Um, well, I'll start from the beginning. Shortly after school started, I got asked to the homecoming by the most popular guy in school. I was thrilled and really thought he liked me. Turns out not. It turned out to be some kind of dare from his buddies, and I didn't find out the punch line until it was too late. I showed up to the place where the dance was held all dressed and happy. He pulled up in his car and out walked a beautiful brunette named Bonnie." She breathed out. "He humiliated me in front of everyone, calling dumb for thinking he was serious. Needless to say by the time I got home my make up was trashed. Well, my dad had been really mean lately. And when I walked in I was a little less presentable then when I left. His only words were…'knocked up yet?' I was crushed. He began calling me names, and yelling at me for every little thing. Well one day, at work, I worked for my best friend, Johnny. His girl friend, Michelle, walked in; we got into a less then discreet argument. Turns out Johnny, who she was in love with, dumped her because he wanted me. After she left, I confronted him and he confirmed everything. I told him he was like a brother to me; I didn't see him like that. After my shift was over, my uncle Rick, Johnny's dad, came out and fired me. Johnny told him it was for the best that I didn't work there any more. I went home and started doing laundry and found out my jeans were ruined because they had grease on them that wouldn't come out. So dumb old me asked my father for a few dollars to buy some new jeans. He blew up threw the money at me said I was useless…and told me I should live with my mother. After that he took of for a few minutes." Silent tears began to fall from her eyes and down her cheeks. Matt stood and went over to her crouching by her and holding her hands. She continued, "Taking his advice, I threw some stuff into a duffle bag, stuff I could sell for quick cash, and a pair of jeans and hopped out my window as my dad came home. I lived off stuff stolen from restaurants and trashcans until…until you helped me out. You gave me some money and I bought my first good meal. A soda and a hot dog from Veinnersmitzl. When I got back to the building I was `living' at, I found a small paper sack and a small cup of coffee. Someone helped me and left me some nice warm food and a warm drink. I was ecstatic…two good meals in one day. Things went basically the same; my mysterious helper left me small meals in the morning and at night. I was so grateful. Then my bag was stolen in the middle of the night and voila, here we are." She said with a watery smile. She sniffed a couple of times before adding an off hand remark that made his blood boil with rage. "I must be terrible to lose everyone I love in a matter of hours. What's wrong with me?" He tried hard, so hard, not to but his body had a will of its own. He pulled her to him, pressing her face to his chest trying to shush her. She sobbed hard, the pent up emotions finally spilling out.

"There's nothing wrong with you Andy. Please believe me. You are a bright, wonderful, energetic, not to mention beautiful young woman" he breathed out not sure if she caught the last part. She did. "I know this for a fact. That guy from your school, he's an idiot. Your dad has some issues with being critical, and harsh. Those people, who were your friends, I'm sorry to say this but…they must not have been very good friends if they treated you like that for a small matter like that. Andy, nothing is wrong with you please," he placed his hand under her chin so she would look him in the face. "Believe me. I wouldn't lie to you about anything." She smiled as tears fell freely down her cheeks. He smoothed away the moisture and rested his hand on her jaw. Her lips were red and swollen from her biting them during her story. So very kissable…the temptation was too great. Her big blue eyes looked deep into his and he couldn't stop himself. He leaned in and captured her lips in a sweet tender kiss. He vaguely realized that her arms had snaked their way around his neck and his around her waist. He pulled her closer and she gasped lightly when she felt his tongue trace the seam of her lips. She gladly obliged and opened her mouth and let him inside. He fairly pillaged her mouth and she moaned with every dart of his tongue. She was sweet and her scent was driving him slowly insane. His right hand smoothed its way around her hip, up her trim sides to the peak of her left breast. He thumbed the nipple until he felt it distend underneath the cloth. His mouth left hers to kiss a trail to the bend of her neck and shoulder. He suckled lightly all the while kneading her breast with his hand. He heard her moan his name and was snapped back to reality as her voice triggered his memory to remember her tragic story. He pulled away abruptly earning a startled gasp from the girl to which he was clutching.

"What? What's the matter?" he stood quickly, mumbling an apology and walking to his room. His meal and hers, now completely forgotten, lay on the table cold and uneaten. She stood, eyes filled with tears, as she walked down the hall to her own room and shut the door. She collapsed on her bed and sobbed into her pillow until she fell asleep. She had dreams…of a man, his hands kneading her breasts and his warm mouth on hers…

In his own room, Matt, now sporting a huge bulge in his slacks sat on his bed and listened to her heart wrenching sobs through the wall. He took a couple of calming breathes and willed himself to stay where he was until she had quieted and fallen asleep. Luckily while he waited his painful erection went down. He walked to the kitchen and cleaned up the uneaten dinner and then settled in his own bed now reading the clock that said close to midnight. He didn't sleep much, his thoughts and dreams were filled with a young beautiful girl moaning his name as he seated himself between her glossy thighs. Damn my luck…
