San and Kuto hid silently and watched in horror as one of the aliens dragged a knocked-out Quip towards the ship. The man pulled Quip across the rubble and uneven ground by his left arm. San winced in pain as the man purposely pulled Quip over some large blocks of cement, banging his head as he went. Quip was bleeding and his left shoulder seemed to be dislocated.
“Now we have to go save him.” San said matter-of-factly. Kuto grimaced but he knew San was right. “We need to figure out how to gain access to the ship without being noticed” stated San. Kuto nodded. Kuto and San both knew that Quip would be tortured and time was very important but they also knew that if they did not time everything perfect then they would suffer the same fate. They were caught between helping Quip and figuring out how.
There was a sudden scream from the direction the solder had come and both Kuto and San turned there heads. Several moments later two more solders emerged from the trees, one holding tightly to a squirming Tyia. San gasped and Kuto placed his hand in front of San’s mouth. San shook her head and moved away slowly from Kuto’s grasp. San and Kuto watched as the solders walked to the ship and took Tyia inside.
Tyia looked up at the big men holding onto her. Tyia squirmed and moved and almost got out of the grip of the strong men. The men were wearing hard and shiny clothing. Tyia turned to the left suddenly and saw San and Kuto hiding in the bushes just as the door to the ship closed.
San made quick eye contact with the little child as the door closed loudly. San and Kuto waited for more people to emerge from the foliage. Both were thinking it but neither would say that Ro was next.
After many minutes they both stood up. No words were said, they both knew what they had to do. They crept silently around the edge of the trees. The ship loomed in the clearing like some sleeping dragon that waited to snap at whatever moved.
There had to be some opining to the ship. The only trick was to figure out how to enter the ship without getting captured. If they were captured then it would all be over.
The army seemed assured of their victory. They started sending out small groups of scouts to find stragglers. No guards had been posted anywhere outside the ship and they seemed assured of their security. This false security would only aid San and Kuto in their siege.
One scout came back and passed right in front of Kuto and San. Before San realized what Kuto planned to do he sprung from the bushes and attacked the man. San sighed and followed suit and soon they had the man knocked out and tied up. Kuto stripped the man’s clothing off and gave them to San. San looked at the uniform discustidly and put it on.
Kuto and San retreated into the bushes and waited for another gaurd to come outside. Eventuly another one would come out, if nothing elce, to check on where the first gaurd went.
