Sea of Dreams

I tell her the truth

I cannot lie

So still she is

Standing by my side

I study it fierce

Her stricken face

Then she crumples

In my embrace

The truth is there

Plain to see

Something even I

Cannot not see

Her faith is gone

Her hopes are dashed

As the proofs clash

And clash

From her eyes

Tears do spring

From her chair

Herself she does fling

Running faster

And faster into the night

Trying to escape

Their horrid sight

For her my heart weeps

To see broken so

All pride gone

And gone her glow

Rain is falling

In the Sea of Dreams

Every drop

Becoming a scream

Screams become nightmares

That then become day

The day embodies

A burning sun ray

The ray

Turns to cloud

And from the cloud

Rain does pour

Back into the Sea of Dreams
