Groaning, Link sat up. He ached all over from the previous night's exercises. But it was a good ache...

'Where wind nor rain can reach, I sit, where warmth or cold can't touch me. In the dark I wait for my savior.'

Link rolled these words around in his mind. "An enclosed space," he said aloud. "Where she can't get out."

'Guards surround the place I wait.'

The palace? No, that's to open. Maybe a dungeon? Question is, a dungeon where? Can't be in Hyrule castle. He would have known by then. Guerodo fortress? Maybe. But wouldn't they send a ransom after seeing the posters? The Zora's? They aren't the type to hold hostages. Goron's? No. To gentle.

Link groaned again in frustration. Maybe a dungeon that wasn't that well known? Oh. Great lead. That
would really help.

How about the Kokiri Forest? The thought sounded absurd to him. Like the Kokiri would keep a captive. A pretty captive, at that. An absolutely beautiful one...

Maybe she was a poor wandering fool that got stuck in the Forest Temple. Wouldn't Saria know? He reached for the ocarina that forever rested beside his bed. He played Saria's song, hoping she knew something.

Saria noticed her ocarina glowing. Only Link knew that song. What if he was calling to say that he loved her? Saria mentally kicked herself. She had long since given up on that silly thought. Link merely thought of her as a friend, nothing more, nothing less. She picked up the instrument, and heard Link's voice.

"Saria! Are you there?"

"Yes, Link. It's early in the morning. What is it?" She winced. She didn't mean to sound that demanding. But Link didn't seem to notice.

"I have something I need to ask you." Saria began to feel her heart thump at a faster pace than normal.

"Yes?"

"Do you know of anyone or anything taking residence inside the Forest Temple?"

Saria's high hopes plummeted six feet under. "Besides the monsters?"

"Yes."

"Um, there was a legend of a woman that was trapped in there long ago. If my memory serves correctly, she had red hair, blue eyes, really pretty, and she was..."

"That's her!" Link interrupted suddenly. "Thanks, Saria, I owe you big time for this!"

"Link, wait! There's something you have to know!" But it was to late; Link had left his ocarina. Saria sighed. Her female instincts were going haywire. She had known Link ever since they were children, real children. It was understandable that she would have maternal feelings for the blonde. Why had he asked about the Muse anyway? It wasn't like he had ever seen her... Saria gasped. as realization hit her.

"Link... you're falling into a trap, set up by one of the most wicked villains of all time. Oh Link, why'd she had to choose you?" Saria stood from the stump, and contacted the other Sages with her mind. "Link..."
