"Prank!!" Chaos screamed, running toward the house at full speed. He'd heard her coming and was already on his way outside. He caught her and crushed her against his chest. "Are you okay? Where's Rascal? What happened? Who's hurt and how bad?" She showered him with questions, somewhere between hysterics and murderous rage. "Chaos! Calm down, baby, just calm down! Rascal's fine. He's inside, with Mayhem and Diablo. Anarchy is dead, though. And Trickster is hurt, bad." He looked up as Bloodbath, Winter, Kismet, Ruin and Despair reached them. "Who are you two? You were there tonight, fighting with us, but I've never seen you before," said Prank, not nearly as hostile as Chaos had been. "This is Ruin and Despair," said Bloodbath, then, "Now get out of my way so I can go make sure my daughter is all right."

"Mommy!" Mayhem cried, jumping from Diablo's lap, into her arms. She was dirty and scratched, but seemed otherwise okay. "What happened? Why is she all scratched up?" Bloodbath demanded. "Rascal took her when we were attacked. They ran through the trees and made it here by themselves. We got home and found them hiding under the bed in our room," said Diablo. "Rascal!" Chaos called, as she came inside.

"Hi, Mom," he said, sitting on the couch, next to War. "Get your ass over here," she demanded, dropping to her knees. He got up and ran to her. Winter, Kismet, Despair and Ruin entered the house more slowly, looking around. Storm came down the stairs, looking tired and defeated. "Trickster's gone," he said, quietly. "He bled to death." "Christ," Diablo muttered. Winter bit her lip. "Where's Jinx and Trouble?" asked Echo, coming in from the kitchen with a rag held against his head. Discord was right behind him. "They left the hunt early, so they'd be home when you got there," said Chaos, "What about Scamp?" "Upstairs," said Discord. "He's washing off the blood so we can see to make sure he's okay." "What blood?" asked Bloodbath. "Is he hurt?" Echo shook his head, slowly and Prank answered for him. "Anarchy jumped on top of him to protect him. That's how he died, without the humans even realizing he was covering Scamp." "We'll bury them tonight," said Discord. "No, we'll do it. You get Scamp home to Jinx and tell them what happened," said Diablo.

"Two more stones," Prank mumbled, watching as Diablo placed Trickster's stone over his grave. "This place is getting too big. Too many have died," said Chaos, holding Rascal's hand. He yawned and tried to hide it. Mayhem was already asleep, being held by Bloodbath.

"Would you take Mayhem and Rascal back to the house?" Prank asked Despair and Ruin. Chaos' head snapped up and she stared at him. He was trusting these strangers with their son. Somehow, in helping defend the Pack, these two vampires had earned his respect and trust. That didn't happen often. "Yeah," said Ruin, taking the sleeping Mayhem from Bloodbath's arms as Despair took Rascal's hand and they made their way back towards the house. "Their bodies lie, but still they roam," said Diablo, quietly. The remaining Pack stood in silence.

"How did they find us?" asked Diablo, of no one in particular. "More important, did they realize what you are?" Bloodbath said. "Either way, this isn't good. There are four dead humans and a whole lot of blood and no natural explanation out in those woods. They won't ignore this one," said Storm. "We've got to get Mayhem, Scamp and Rascal away from here," said Prank, suddenly. "But where? And with who? I'm not leaving you," said Chaos. "Your brother," Bloodbath said. "Would Fury take them?" asked Diablo, looking at Chaos. "Probably. Demon, Fury and Psycho would do anything we asked them to, but that's not the point. I'm wondering if they could handle them," said Chaos. "If the kids could handle your brother?" asked War, slightly mixed up. "No, if my brother and Demon and Fury could handle the kids." "They're six and seven! How much trouble could they be?" asked Despair. They all stared at him.

"Do you really think it's that dangerous for them here?" asked Jinx, watching Scamp sleep. Echo nodded, his gaze set on his son, as well. "You know he'll be safe with Psycho. We've got to keep Scamp safe, at all costs. If any human ever found out about him and Rascal, they wouldn't kill them. They'd torture them and test them and keep them in cages for the rest of their lives, which will be eternity." Jinx shuddered and curled up next to her baby. Echo sighed and put a hand on her shoulder.

"How, exactly, did you find them? How do they know you need them?" asked Discord. Trouble smiled to herself. "Forget it, baby. I'm not telling. They'll be here within the night." Discord sighed and leaned back. "Fine, be that way," he pouted.

"Chaos?" She sat up, suddenly wide-awake. Prank was still downstairs with the others. Rascal was beside her, breathing softly. Fury stood next to the bed, dressed all in black, as usual and having snuck in perfectly silently. No one but Chaos even knew he was there yet.

"Fury," she whispered, as he pulled her close. She kissed her brother's cheek. "Hi, Big Brother." He looked down at the small boy on the bed. "Is this my nephew?" She smiled and nodded. "That's my baby. That's Rascal." Then, she looked up at him. "He's the reason I called you. He's in danger." "What kind of danger? Who or what's trying to hurt him?" Fury demanded, his voice rising. Rascal stirred, whimpering in his sleep. Chaos leaned down and smoothed the hair back off his face. "Shh, baby. It's alright," she whispered. With a small sigh, Rascal became still again. She turned to Fury. "Let's go downstairs. Prank's gonna shit when he finds out you snuck right past him."

"Prank?" Chaos called, coming down the stairs. He looked up and stared at Fury. "How the Hell did you-" "Hi, Prank," said Fury calmly. With one last confused "but-", Prank shook his head, then gave up. He looked at Chaos. "Have you told him?" "No. I thought you should." "Told me what?" asked Fury. He looked around the room then, and saw Storm, Winter, Kismet, Despair and Ruin, a whole new Pack that he'd never seen before. "Okay, I'm lost now. Where's Echo and Discord? What about Jinx and Trouble? And Trickster and Anarchy? What the Hell is going on?" Prank sighed and Diablo came out of the kitchen. "You'd better sit down, Fury."

"Oh, man," Fury said, sitting down, heavily, on the couch. "So, lemme get this straight: You want me to take Rascal and Scamp and Mayhem for an indefinite amount of time because you think that they'll be safer with us than here with you, right? Are you sure this is such a good idea?" Chaos sat beside him. "Fury, you know what'll happen if they're ever caught by mortals. We don't have any other choice." "But they don't even know us! How can you be sure they'd even go?" Diablo looked at him. "They're 4 feet tall and about 95 pounds each. If they don't want to go, you pick them up and carry them." "But-" Fury began, but Prank cut him off. "Ruin and Despair can go as well." All three vampires stared at him. "Why?" asked Ruin. "Three reasons: One, this is Pack business, something you aren't involved in. Two, I trust you to keep them safe. Three, Fury, Demon and Psycho are going to need all the help they can get." Fury's eyes widened and he stared at Prank with pure terror in his gaze.

Demon, Psycho, Trouble, Jinx, Echo and Discord arrived that night, with Scamp. Demon looked at Fury. "They tell you what they want us to do?" Fury nodded. "Well? Are we gonna do it?" asked Psycho, looking, doubtfully, at the three small, innocent looking children. "Of course, we'll take all three of them," said Demon, as if there had never been any other choice. He looked apprehensive, though. If these kids were anything like their mothers, this was gonna be Hell on earth.
