Chapter 2: Bloodlust Nightmare
My eyes slowly flickered open and I sat up.
Everything felt different, like everything about me had changed in some odd why. I don't know why I felt like this I just did.
I tried to recall what had just happened, but was only able to pick up bits and pieces in my mind.
Was it just a nightmare?
I looked around where I was…still in the cemetery, but I was on a bench under a huge old oak tree.
Did I doze off?-most likely or I hoped that was the best case scenario.
I get up and stretched my muscles.
My mind flashed to the boy that I saw in the graveyard and I froze. I remembered seeing his fangs, I remembered pain.
I touched my neck gingerly with my hand and then took it away, there was a little bit of blood on my hand.
Coincidence, I told myself calmly, there aren't such things as vampires, it was just a bad dream that's all.
I found my book bag under the bench and continued home tying to brush it out of my mind thinking that I'd wake up tomorrow and everything would be back to normal. This would all just be some silly memory or dream that I'd tell my friends and they'd all laugh while concluding that I had indeed gone insane.
I sighed heavily as I took my house key out of my jacket packet and opened the door and went inside.
All the lights were off and I had a feeling that it was well past midnight, I went into the kitchen and flipped on the lights in their then glanced at the digital clock, 1:46 was the time it showed.
I made my way to the refrigerator, I was famished. I spotted the milk in a corner and took it out, opened it then took a big gulp only to choke and cough it up on the floor.
I fell to the floor in a coughing fit dropping the milk and spilling it.
When the spasms had passed I heard footsteps come door the stairs and I heard the voice of my younger brother, "Rini?-is that you?" He walked into the kitchen sucking on his thumb and dragging a yellow blanket behind him wearing his sleeping pajamas that were white and had brown teddy bears on them with red ribbons around their necks.
I smiled at him, "Hey Maitland."
He seemed relived to see me and ran up and hugged my leg, "Mommy and Daddy were worried when you didn't come home," he said taking his thumb out of his mouth, "They went to the police to look for you."
I wiped the milk off my chin with my sleeve, "Oh." I paused then added, "You should go back to sleep, you're not to be up now."
"Only if you tuck me back in." he demanded.
I rolled my eyes, I'd clean the milk up after I saw him off to bed, "Alright." He grabbed my hand and pulled me into his room.

Playground school bell rings, again
Rain clouds come to play, again
Has no one told you she's not breathing ?
Hello, I'm your mind, giving you someone to talk to...hello...
If I smile and don't believe
Soon I know I'll wake from this dream

We went into his room and he climbed into his bed and snuggled under the covers.
I sat on the edge of the bed as I watched him snuggle with his blanket cutely.
"Tell me a story." he ordered.
I shook my head, "You need to get some sleep Maitland, we don't have time for that."
I bent down to kiss him on his forehead, but stopped.
I felt an unusual longing inside me, one that had never been there before. It was dark, evil and hungry.
But what?
The answer popped inside me somewhere.
Blood.
I could sense his blood, his sweet and innocent blood that flowed through his veins.
I craved his blood somewhere inside me, I needed blood.
I wanted his blood, it was driving me crazy.
I kissed his forehead hastily, "Good night."
"'Night." he muttered turning over and hugging one of his stuffed animals and closing his eyes.
I wanted to leave, but my body wouldn't obey such a command. Instead, I found myself leaning down and sniffing his neck. I rolled my tongue over it, I could just taste the blood beneath his skin and its warmth.
He flinched, but didn't wake.
Before I could make sense of what I was doing I bit into his neck savaging the taste of the crimson liquid in him.
I was intoxicated and it felt so good to satisfy the darkness that lingered within me.
It was long before I realized that I had drained him completely, I had gotten lost within myself, enjoying the flavor.
I licked up the trails of blood that led from his neck to the small puddle of blood beneath him that had escaped my mouth.
When I had finished I didn't know what to do.
I stared at my brother, his peacefully closed eyes, the little smile on his face. He hadn't even felt it he had been so deep into sleep.
I jumped up and backed up against the wall covering my mouth, what the hell did I just do?
The truth hit me little by little, I had just killed him. Sucked him dry of every last drop of blood in his system and I craved for more.
It was sickening.

Don't try to fix me
I'm not broken
Hello, I'm the lie living for you so you can hide...
don't cry…
Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping
Hello, I'm still here, all that's left
Of yesterday...

There was a tapping at my brother's window and I looked and saw the guy whom I had seen in the cemetery looking in.
I walked over unhurriedly and opened it, so it hadn't been a dream.
"Hello," he said coolly looking at the limb body of my little brother, "I see you already fed." He was smirking.
I held back my bitter tears, "What the hell did you do to me?" I asked hardly audible.
He chuckled darkly, "What do you think I did to you?"
He was trying to play games with me.
"You turned me into something…" I replied softly not looking at him, I found the entire ordeal disgusting, "Something I don't like…"
"A vampire to be precise." he said.
I leaned on the window sill, "A vampire…" I whispered quietly. "So that's why."
"Why what?" he asked still smirking.
"Why I have a desire for blood." I felt the tears forming in my eyes and they steadily fell down my face. Anger, sadness, hatred, frustration and heart ache were swirling inside of me, all at once. "Why did you do this to me?" I said then I shouted, "WHY DID YOU TO THIS TO ME?"
"I've been watching you for a while Rini," he said after a few moments of silence, "I guess you could say I had an obsession for you, which I rarely have for your kind. I always wanted to see how easily you would break." He put his hands in his coat pockets and leaned against the outside of the house.
I sank to the ground and started crying, burying my face in my hands. This wasn't happening, this was just a nightmare that I was going to wake up from any minute now.

Mage: I'm going on vacation Monday-Friday, but I'll be back for the weekend and hopefully I'll have new chapters for all my stories up by then. The song is 'Hello' by Evanescence, I'm going to be using their songs a lot to this story so I hope you like.
