~Part 2: Traitors to My Soul~
"You know he is coming here…?"
"…Yes."
"Why do you not stop him? I thought you didn't want him to interfere with 'time' and 'the powers' again…"
"I don't, but that is not the point…"
"Then what is?"
"He is no longer the 'caretaker' of courage and our time."
"So…"
"So, he does not deserve to call upon our power or guidance any more. Is that not what he is doing now?"
"Yes."
"So, when he arrives, I shall… inform him that he is not to seek our guidance any longer-he does not deserve it…"
"Deserve…? What has this boy done so wrong to undeserved our guidance and knowledge in succeeding him to his goal…?"
"Done? Nothing, that is what he has done… He left our Hyrule in shambles and in the end, we were the one's that sealed the evil Ganondorf away into the black abyss between time and space… not the boy…… remember, he was the one that let Ganon into the holy 'Sacred Realm.' So it is only fair that we deny the 'Savior of Hyrule' any help he may seek."
Silence. No voices spoke this time, not in defense of the 'Savior of Hyrule' or against him. Then the ancient voice which had been against Link the whole time spoke up again.
"I suggest, if any of you Sages want to keep your lives and status', that you leave here at once and not bother with that troublesome boy… ever… again." Now revealed, the Five Sages, rescued by Link, stand staring at the eldest and 'wisest' of them all, Rauru, the sixth Sage of Light. They all have troubled looks about them, especially the 'youngest,' Saria; she had been Link's childhood friend-true friend, before all of them ever had the slightest notion of him in their memories and now the great sage Rauru was telling them to forget about Link and leave him be? Saria couldn't believe what she was hearing, unlike the others, who really did just use Link without a second thought, she cared for Link and it really hurt deep down, not being able to help the poor boy more.
Saria had always cared for Link; she had been his only friend when the other Kokiri ignored him. When she found out that Link was to become the 'Hero of Time,' her heart fell, but she knew deep down that it was for the good of them all, and becoming the Sage of Forest would also help Link along in his journey… or so she thought. She didn't realize that her powers, along with herself, would be locked away from Link until it was almost too late… and she hated herself for that-for not being able to help Link when he needed her most and only then, doing very little to help in the process. But now, now that she had the chance to repay Link for his kindness and bravery, she couldn't use it-all because of Rauru…. It wasn't true-everything that he said; none of what happened to Hyrule or its inhabitants was Link's fault… how much could one expect from just a boy?
Link, it isn't fair…this wasn't your choice to fight and lose everything that meant so much to you. I want to help you, I do, but why can't Rauru and the others see this. You deserve our help more than any other-it's just not fair…How can he say those things, how can Rauru believe that it was you who was the cause of the destruction of our world and you who 'let' Ganon into the Sacred Realm, when it was HE who let YOU into the Sacred Realm. I don't care what he says, I'm going to stay and help you Link…I will help you. A secret smile formed on Saria's lips as those thoughts firmly planted themselves within her mind.
The other four Sages each turned away silently without any fuss and disappeared one-by-one until only Saria and Rauru were left. Rauru gave the small girl a demanding and utterly hateful look, she didn't flinch or turn away though, just kept her strong emerald eyes on his and slowly disappeared to join the rest.

Link sighed. He hadn't seen Hyrule castle since he defeated Ganondorf and then, it wasn't a pretty sight but now, now that Princess Zelda was restored to herself and…. Link felt the full affect of it now; Sheik wasn't real, even though he had seemed to be fully, but when Zelda revealed herself and the Triforce of Wisdom to Link he had found out that Sheik wasn't the man Link thought he was, on the contrary, Sheik wasn't a man at all… but what in the world was it that he kept having these dreams of? It just couldn't be Sheik because Sheik was not real. But he felt so real, so alive… and who was the boy that Link met when he was a child… was that not Sheik or another child that looked so much like him?
Link swayed a little, that blow to the mind earlier still hadn't worn off it's effects on Link, but he really didn't mind, he was still caught up in his past-when it was peaceful and he was happy, well at least for the most part…

A cool breeze gently rustled the leaves of a nearby tree causing a few of the leaves to part from their barer and fall lifelessly to the ground by a pair of two small bare feet. They twitched when one of the leaves landed on them then they were brought up to a small body, revealing a small version of Link; those two big, sapphire-blue eyes stared widely at his surroundings and his rather large shirt that he had not grown into just yet, barely covering his delicate thighs as he wrapped his arms around his skinny little legs. He sighed quietly and closed his large eyes tiredly, falling back into the grass with a 'plop.' He stared up at the swiftly moving clouds above and his mind began to roam.
I wonder who that boy was…I've never seen him before, why did I see him just after defeating that big octopus? I wish I could have talked to him…he looked so nice…… hmmm, he had such pretty eyes…!!! Whoa! What am I thinking?!
He's a boy and-and I'M a boy!! I-I…ohhh why did I say that? Boys aren't supposed to…like each other…I think…but his eye's…they were so red, like crystals…like rubies! Just like the Gorons Ruby! His eyes were just like that!
I wish I could see them again… and touch his silver hair…it looked so soft-like real silk, almost……I wish! Even if I COULD… 'be' with him…it wouldn't work, he would probably laugh in my face if I told him that…he probably likes girls anyway…what with those looks and all……but-but, I, even if for a minute, I wish I could see him…He made me feel safe… 'Safe…' I haven't ever felt safe my whole life…he changed that though…Even if he did laugh at me I would tell him-I would tell him that!
I would tell him that he made me feel safe, even if he didn't care, or didn't like it, or laughed at me…I would still tell him……
"You make me feel safe… beautiful stranger." Not talking to anyone in particular, the young Link didn't notice that he had actually attracted the attention of another being standing so quietly behind him that the sudden movement towards Link made both of them jump. Link spun around, horrified at the sudden intrusion, drawing his sword as a natural instinct. Link almost immediately lowered his sword though when his eyes focused widely on the quiet creature before him; a boy almost the same height as Link, maybe a little taller, with shaggy silver hair and glowing ruby-red eyes. This was the boy! The boy Link had just been thinking about, and now he was standing right before a very embarrassed and quite frankly, astonished Link.
The boy just stared, intense red eyes glowing more brilliantly by the second as it felt like, to Link, that they were almost burning holes through his already hot skin and right into his heart that was wide open for the taking. Link soon found out he wasn't good under such intense gazes, especially when the gaze is being received from such a beautiful creature and Link promptly turned a bright shade of pink. He began to fidget around dumbly and averted his gaze to everywhere BUT the boy before him. Then the boy took a step towards the clumsy Link almost scaring the poor thing half to death.
Link jumped almost a foot when the mysterious boy edged closer to him and stopped only inches apart from Link; their noses almost touching. Link stared, frightened out of his wits, he couldn't move-couldn't even breathe, when the silent boy spoke up in such a deep, quiet whisper Link almost couldn't hear the boy.
"I thank you for trusting me… and you are welcome, for the security I offer…"
Link almost fell over! He couldn't believe what he just heard; the boy welcomed AND thanked him… Oh my God…did he…? Why, why did he do that? Link finally focused his eyes and stared as deep into those brilliant ruby depths as the boy before him was doing.
Link swallowed hard and only manage a weak nod and feeble, "Y-y-y-yo-u-re… w-w-we-we-l-l-c-c-c-ome…." Link fussed furiously, as the boy before him never even faltered, but then he leaned back a little and what could have been considered a smile, if you looked close enough, graced the edges of his delicate lips. Link caught that and frowned. Why is he smiling? The boy noticed the confused looks Link was giving him and the boy spoke up again, this time a little louder but with the same seductive patience as before.
"Do not be so distraught Link, I was merely taking in your attractive features…" Link's heart stopped. Attractive…? H-he thinks I'm… attractive?! And how does he know my name!?! With the utter confusion on Links face apparent, the boy's smile widened a little more and he continued, "…Yes, I know your name is Link. My name is Sheik… I am one of the last surviving Sheikah's, you should already know about us by Impa… correct?" Link nodded. "The Sheikah have the power to see into the hearts of those worthy and strong-willed, and can even posses souls of those that are weak and evil minded…" A sly smile crept across Sheik's lips as Link 'gulped' visibly. Okay, that explains why he knew my name…but…uh…that was really creepy.
Sheik's smile widened even more and he leaned back into Link's face. Link's eye's widened to an impossible size and his breathing quickened, he was totally fear-stricken, his dreams were coming true; those beautiful ruby-red eyes were staring right back at him-scrutinizing and powerfully gentle, Link felt faint he wasn't sure how long he could stand under the hard gaze of those beautiful features.
"Are you afraid of me now…?" Sheik almost breathed the words into Link's soul as he playfully questioned the frightened boy before him.
"I wouldn't hurt you, you know. I could never do that to the 'Hero of Time' and our savior. Besides, I like you… I think you are very attractive and funny… I like the feelings I can give you…" A sly smile widened across his lips, every time he stopped then continued, like a cat that just caught the canary. Link turned the brightest color red Sheik had ever seen and he giggled quietly at that. Link couldn't believe what he was hearing once again, he tried to turn away but Sheik reached out quickly and grabbed Links little chin in a firm but gentle hold, almost forcing Link to look at him. Sheik smiled again and continued,
"I didn't think I had that kind of affect on people… usually they are frightened of me, but not you… I like you Link, and I hope we can meet again soon. I wish to help you with all of my power and soul; I never want any harm to come to you… I will be there for you when you need me…" Then Sheik turned his head away and almost under his breath he whispered, "…I hope…" Sheik turned back to Link and smiled gently, Link had almost calmed down, as he was so entranced by the beautiful boy before him. Sheik then did something that Link would never forget, he kissed Link. It wasn't a soul shattering kiss nor a quick peck on the cheek it was just a kiss; a promise, from one 'lover' to another, telling them that they would be back some day and never to forget each other. After that though, Link didn't think he could even remember his own name, as that kiss had overcome all of his senses from head to toe. Link began to swoon with the rise of blood to his head, then, Sheik pulled away unexpectantly.
Link blinked a couple of times, the blood rush still going to his head. He just stared at Sheik and waited… for what, he did not know, but he waited. Sheik smiled sadly at him and turned away from a confused Link and he turned his head back to Link a lingering look in the shy boy's eye…
"Good luck, Hero of Time…" Then he was gone. Before Link could comprehend what exactly Sheik's words meant and the whole situation that had just ensued between them, he was gone! Just like Impa; that magic cast upon a person when a Sheikah does not want the person to see them. Sheik? But… What, why… kiss…A kiss… he… kissed me…HE kissed ME! I thought… but why did he leave? Link gazed sadly in the direction Sheik come and left from…
The direction in which Sheik would forever be facing-away from Link…

Link frowned; he was real. But… Wha-how, how could Sheik possibly be real when it was revealed right before him in the Temple of Time, that he wasn't real? Zelda just posed as Sheik…. Was it just a coincidence and the little boy Link met in his past was really named Sheik, and Zelda just happened to pick the name of the boy Link had fallen hopelessly in love with at such a young age? He had to find out, even if it killed him…

"Good he is almost arrived…" I will show you what you are really worth and how unwanted you really are. The gruff voice of the Sage of Light, Rauru, echoed throughout the darkened void of the Sacred Realm. His rough timber laugh following close behind his venomous words throughout the open space. A pair of brilliant emerald eyes glowed silently from the confines of their respective temple; hearing that evil laugh was enough to send chills down the spine of even the evil Ganon. The beautiful eyes closed slowly and a sweet, melodic laugh rang throughout the Forest Temple, shattering the peaceful silence and causing the safely hidden birds to scatter from their hiding places within the dark trees above.

Epona slid to a graceful halt before the once destroyed bridge to Hyrule Castle. It was now restored and back to normal working conditions, the thought crossed Link's mind for a swift moment to ride Epona into the current construction of the Hyrule Market place. Link shook that thought from his mind, though as amusing as it sounded, he decided against it, he didn't want to frighten Epona; he knew she hated being around people anyway. So dismounting from the large mare, he stretched off the long ride and started towards the New, Hyrule Castle.
