Chapter 5
Cat Fight
We had to move our hideout to the Locker room. There was a big hole linking the boys and girls locker rooms together. The girls would sleep in the girls locker room, while us Juan and I slept in the boys. We all showered together because the smell of naked flesh attracted the Vessels. Though the smell of soapy water scared them off. I was still sore from the battle a few weeks earlier. My bite and scratches were all scars now but They would hurt every time a vessel was near. Brooke was really down about this because she knew her best friend was gone. The Chastity we all knew was no longer with us. As for a lot of our other friends who had also been bitten and infected. She knew that one day If one of us didn't kill her, she would have too. She would cry a lot at night thinkingt I was asleep, I heard her. I knew what she was crying for and there wasn't much I could say. It wasn't my place. I knew that this will change our entire lives if we make it out. I've accepted my fate....... no matter what it may be.... Now, it's time for Brooke to do the same.
7:00 a.m. Swimming Pools
We heard screeches coming from the Swimming areas and we rushed over to it. We walked in to see a battle. Chastity was fighting Faygo. I threw my knife into Faygo's back and he growled. Turning his attention to us. He charged and knocked everyone but Brooke into the water. We swam to to the sides to see Chastity and Brooke in a stand off.
"I don't wanna fight you!" Brooke said.
"Aww! Then you'll die a nasty, painful death!" Chastity's vessel said.
"We were friends once! Don't you remember?" Brooke screamed.
Chastity snarled then charged. Scratching Brooke's arm and spinning to her feet.
"Brooke! You have no choice! This will decide your fate!" I screamed.
"But--"
"No buts! If you don't fight her now you'll die! This is not the Chastity you knew and loved anymore!" I screamed.
"I don't know what y'all are talking 'bout, but come at me! I derr ya!" Chastity screamed.
"I d-don't wanna do this, but...... He's right!!" Brooke screamed charging at her.
Brooke swung and Chastity dugged, slashing. Brooke jumped and rolled over her back, lifting Chastity up and slammed her into the ground. Chastity stammered before climbing to her feet. Foam flooding her mouth, she got all fours gaining beast-mentality. She was going to bite Brooke. She charged and jumped over Brooke's head. Brooke ducked under her and grabbed her feet, swinging her around and releasing. Chastity flew into the wall and hit it with a CRASH. She struggled to get up and growled before darting out of the door and into the Courtyard. Brooke fell to her knees crying. I went over to her and tried to hug her when she uppercutted me and I fell into the pool.......
