A/N: No idea where this one came from. Clearly I've got an overactive imagination. Anyways… ummm… sugar was also involved, so it might be a tad crazy. Heh, heh, heh… Oh, disclaimer is at the bottom of the story!
Chapter 1: Untitled Words
Link found himself on the borders of Hyrule. Knowing that his time travelling self that had defeated Ganon had departed receently; he was free to enter Hyrule. But he didn't want to just walk in.
Pulling out the Deku Kid mask; he put it on and turned into a Deku Scrub. Thus he entered Hyrule. One look around told him that Hyrule was under vast reconstruction. People were rebuilding houses, stores, and storerooms.
There were a few Gorons and Gerudo helping out also. Who knew helping out other people could pay off for Hyrule?
Link looked around for a familiar face; but it wasn't easy. As he came up to about their knees. Taking a peek around the corner he spotted Darunia, who he sidled up to.
“Who are you?” Darunia asked. Bending over to look at Link. “I don't think I've seen you before.”
“Where's Zelda?” Link asked tentively.
“Princess Zelda? I think she is helping rebuild one of the houses. Why?”
“I got to deliver a message to her,” Link invented wildly.
“… wait, you seem familiar… have I met you before?”
Link was silent. He merely turned and left. A quick glance around this street told him that Zelda wasn't in this street. But he could look in the others.
Wondering if he had any paper and something to write with on him; looking into his bag, he found a piece of paper and a pen (A/N: Did they even have those,\? The game wasn't specific enough…). Quickly he stopped and hastily scribbled a note for Zelda.
Dashing through the different streets and back alleys of Hyrule, he found Zelda in the last street.
She was dressed in common clothes and busy helping build a roof on one of the houses.
Link dashed up to her before she could mount the ladder. He coughed to get her attention.
“Yes?” she asked.
Lowering his voice slightly Link muttered stockly, “I was told to give this too you Princess.”
Zelda put her tools on the ground and crouched down to take the folded piece of paper he held out for her. “Who sent it?”
“I don't know. The Forest Sage instructed me to give it to you.” Link had only put Saria in there for the flow. The Lost Woods was a pretty good for his disguise to come from. “She didn't tell me who it was from.”
“That's okay.” Zelda replied.
Link bowed and quickly departed.
Zelda watched him leave before unfolding the letter. She didn't recongnize the hand writing; and it wasn't signed. It merely read;
Zelda,
Meet me at the gate at midnight tonight. Come alone.
Unsure whether or not to heed the writers' request, Zelda wondered who could have wrote it. Saria must have known this person if she had consented to send it.
Deciding that she'd take a guard with her Zelda refolded the note and tucked into a pocket. She'd show it to Impa later.
Rebuilding Hyrule was difficult. They'd managed to complete a general store and several houses, that was about it.
Wiping her brow on her sleeve, Zelda returned to the roof she was working on. She'd insisted on helping, feeling at least partly responsible for its destruction.
To bad there were still a few fiends in the town also. Sometimes they'd attack in the night, or raid the supplies. It made life difficult for the Hylians.
As the sun desended. Zelda realised it was late and she should return to the castle.
Descending from the roof, she looked around and hurried to the castle; not wanting to run into any of the remaining fiends.
“Back?” Impa asked, when Zelda emerged dressed in her regal dress and carrying a cloak. “Where are you planning to go?”
“I got this letter,” Zelda replied, showing Impa it. “Should I take a guard?”
“No. If Saria did have it sent to you by a Deku Sprout, then you can trust this person. Do as it says.”
Zelda nodded and swung the cloak around her shoulders, she pulled the hood over her head and departed.
A soft whistle from her cloak dragging on the ground was the only sound that Zelda could hear, even though she was straining her ears to hear any sound of an approaching fiend.
Taking a deep breath to try and steady her franticly beating heart, Zelda found herself dizzy and anxious. She slowly approached the gates and stepped out, looking around for any sign of another prescence.
Zelda walked to the side of the gate and stood there, hopefully out of sight of any approaching people.
Suddenly a hand shot out and clamped itself over her mouth, and another grabbed her arm and dragged her deeper into the shadows.
Zelda struggled to free herself. But as suddenly as she had been grabbed she was released.
Just as she was about to scream for help a voice hissed, “Zelda will you be quiet. I don't want anyone knowing I'm here.”
“Link!?”
“Yes,” Link exasperatly groaned.
“Why did you-”
“I didn't want anyone to know I was back. Anyways, I wanted to see you in private.”
“But then Saria would-”
“She doesn't know. That was me.”
“What!? Ho-”
“Long story.”
“Oh very well.”
“What's wrong with you?”
“Plenty. What we've managed to rebuild is pretty good; but a few of Ganon's minions have remained in Hyrule. We've had problems finding their stronghold.”
“Checked the remains of Ganon's Tower?”
“Well, yes we did. But we driven out by some Moblins. Then we tried again and then Stalfos came and attacked us also.”
“Have you left Hyrule much?”
“No not really. I've been to busy rebuilding.”
“You wanna see Hyrule? All of it?”
“Well yes. But nobody would consent to take me. Nor would I be permitted.”
“Can you be in the center square tomorrow?”
“Yes of course, why?”
“You'll see.”
With a peck on her cheek he was gone.
Zelda stood there for a few moments and gently touched her face where Link had pressed his lips.
She replaced her hood on her head and walked back into Hyrule Castle. The conversation seemed to have happened way too fast in her mind. She was still reeling from it all.
She wouldn't tell Impa. She wouldn't tell Impa. Zelda repeated this mantra over and over in her mind. As she stepped into the castle, she tried to sort through her emotions; and subdue the brilliant red of her cheeks.
When Zelda turned the corner that led into the corridor to her chambers, Impa stepped forward; barring her way.
“Alright princess, what happened?” Impa asked. “Don't tell me nothing because your cheeks are practically aflame.”
Zelda paused, “Well… the person who gave the note to me was the same person who wanted to see me…”
“The Deku Sprout?”
“Actually, it wasn't a Deku Sprout at all it was… hold on.” Zleda grabbed Impa's arm and dragged her into her chamber. “You really want to know?”
“Yeeesss.”
“Okay, okay! It was Link!”

Wow a full five pages! I believe that's my longest chapter to date. Well of my published stories; there's others I have written that are longer but they're terrible so I'm not going to bother publishing them. This chapter took me… four months to finish! Jeez, my muses aren't doing a good job are they?
Dark, Sasukes (SDK and Narurto), Shinrei, and Link: HEY!
Kate: Alright you guys were helpful! But Kyoshiro and Kyo? Noooo… they just sat there and glared at each other and offered nothing helpful to this story… Well on to the next chapter!
Dark: You mean it's not over?
Kate: Of course not! Why would it?
Kyo: Cause you're evil!
Kate: Since you feel that way I'll take all the action of that Samurai Deeper Kyo story I'm writing… it can be a sappy romance instead.
Kyo: Stupid woman…
Kate: (eye twitches) Okay that's it! (grabs a flame thrower) You're gonna pay! (begins trying to torch Kyo) Oi! One of you do the disclaimer!
Link: Kate (Hawk Chic) does not own The Legend of Zelda or any of the characters related to it. She doesn't even own a copy of Ocarina of Time. The only thing she probably owns is the plot and any OCs she decides to throw in for the heck of it.
