Salo arrived in the garden, where he found the person he was looking for sitting on a bench. A girl with golden-brown hair down to her shoulders and blue eyes, wearing a Padawan robe like every Padawan in the temple was. The glare from the sunset giving her a beautiful glow.
“Cassie” Salo called out the name of the girl as he approached from behind. She turned her head to make eye contact with Salo.
Cassie Nura, another young Jedi Padawan here at the Jedi Temple on the planet of Asunon, two years younger than Salo. Her and Salo have been best friends since they met at the Jedi Temple, they'd most likely be more than friends, regardless of their age, if it wasn't against the Jedi code to have such attachments.
"Hello Salo, is there something you want?"
"Well I have to talk to you"
"About what"
Salo paused for a few seconds to sit down on the bench next to Cassie, "About me leaving" he said with a sad tone in his voice.
"Wha...what are you talking about?" Cassie asked shocked.
"Master Zare has taken me on as his apprentice, and I'm leaving the temple tomorrow to begin my journey with him"
"But...I..." Cassie was unable to form a sentence, she just looked down with a sad look on her face.
"I know it sucks, I'm gonna miss you a lot, but we knew it would happen at some point, I'm sure you'll soon become an apprentice too" Cassie didn't say anything, she just faintly nodded, "Come on, follow me" Salo said getting up, and Cassie followed.
They left the Jedi Temple and went to the small beach that they often liked to hang out at and watch the sunset over the lake, and just talk. They sat there on the sand next to each other, Salo knew what he wanted, but knew that he couldn’t have what he wanted, because of a certain code. Salo looked over at Cassie, she was watching the sunset, but there was a tear in her eye that reflected the sunset’s light. She was definitely sad.
“Cassie...” Salo started as he looked at the sunset, “I know that since we’re Jedi, we’re not allowed to love, but I can’t deny what I feel...”
“Your saying that you love me?” Cassie asked as she turned to look at Salo.
“Well...yes, I know that it’s wrong but...well...”
“I know” Cassie said softly, Salo turned and made eye contact with Cassie, they stared into each other’s eyes for a few seconds then finally they leaned toward each other and kissed, it was only for a few seconds, but it felt like to them that it could have lasted forever. Once they stopped they stared at into each other’s eyes again, then they snapped back to reality and realized that they did something wrong, but they didn’t care, no one will find out about what they did and they’ll be fine.
The sun finally went down and it was now night time, “Well I guess it’s time to go back” Salo pointed out.
“Yeah” Cassie acknowledged. Salo got up to his feet and gave Cassie his hand to help her up. They walked back to the Temple acting like nothing happened, but even though they acted like nothing happened, they still knew it happened, and they both knew how they felt and they couldn’t help it. They still have to accept that they have to go separate ways, and nothing will be able to happen with them.

The next day, Salo was ready to go, he said bye to all of his friends, but he still had to say bye to Cassie. Cassie was in her room, when Salo arrived to say goodbye, she looked at him with a tear running down her face. They were both sad, and they wouldn’t forget what happened on the beach, they couldn’t get it out of their minds, and they were glad it happened.
Salo and Cassie didn’t talk, Salo just held Cassie in his arms for a few seconds, then they shared one last kiss and Salo left.
Salo walked into the Jedi Council’s room with his belongings, all ready to go. He tried not to show that he was sad, or the Council might have suspected something.
“Are you ready to go?” Master Zare asked his new apprentice.
“Yes, I’m ready, let’s go” and with that, Master Zare and Salo boarded a ship that belonged to Zare. As the ship lifted off, all of Salo’s friends from the Temple waved goodbye, except for Cassie, she was in her room staring at the ship take off through her window until it was out of view.
