Countdown

5-4-3-2-1-"Ahhhhhhhhh! They're coming! Run! Run for your-". Slice. His final word had been "your." The sound of his death was "slice." Music to the ears of most people. These were not most people. The instrument in which made that music? A sword. Whose sword? Dante's sword. It has now been 6 years since the night darkness came and took in those who needed him. He has turned them into something more than normal.

"These demons are far too simple…" He ripped his sword from the demons spinal column and watched as it burnt up and turned to ashes.

"Hey, at least there's death," the beautiful Enigma jumped down from a fire escape and did a front flip landing squarely on the wet asphalt, she smirked wickedly at the body smoldering to ash.

"Yes, but its getting kind of boring…" Ryu crossed his arms, his bandana blowing in the wind.

"Bite me," Enigma flipped back and landed on her feet, she walked back to her original position, "so, are we going back in smart mouths?"

"I'm in the mood for a little party, may be some hot guys in there…" Diosa's twirled around and put her fists up and punched there air once, twice, then gave it a swift kick.

"Hey, Ryu, we're the guys, we should be taking charge…" Dante looked at Ryu, whose arms were still crossed, he leaned against a moist wet brick wall.

"As long as I kick ass…" he got off the wall and pulled out two swords from his back.

"We've all killed about the same amount of vamps, demons, whatever, whoever gets the most is the winner of today's round…" Diosa danced around.

"Okay…what's the prize?" Ryu smiled at the female fighters.

"Ah, shut up…" Diosa walked towards the open entrance of the building.

"What'd I say ladies?" Ryu waved his hands in the air; "c'mon!" he followed them.

"Blow me…" Enigma said sternly.

"Exactly what I wanted…" Ryu laughed, he ran to catch up.

"Feel the fury…" Dante looked at the burning body, turned, and walked into the entrance of the old building. All four of them walked into the condemned building. It looked like a rotting church more or less that monks hung out at. The area was covered in blood, and humans all over the ground, mostly humans who had been captured and eaten.

"Jeez…went easy on `em…" Ryu laughed a little.

"Quiet." Enigma said coldly, "do you hear that?"

Water was dripping from the roof to the ground near the cross in the center of the room, but that was all the others heard, nothing more.

"Drip…drop…drip…" Ryu teased her, "wow, dripping water," Ryu walked passed her, enigma pulled out her guns slowly and aimed them in the air, Ryu started his song once more, "drip…drop…drip…drop…drip-"

"Drop." Enigma let out a horde of bullets on a demon like being coming out of the darkness secluded in the roofs corner, clips fell from both guns to the ground, as she emptied it, "drop mother fucker…" she twirled the two guns with index fingers threw them on the ground, and jumped up into the sky. She did a flip in mid air, rapped her legs around the demon's head, and brang him over her head and to the ground. She smiled a tad bit, and twisted her legs slightly while she and the monster rested on the ground, a loud snap echoed through the building.

"I heard something then…" Ryu walked to the back of the abandoned building with a smile and to a door that led to the other side of the alley way the construction rested on, he took his swords to his sides and walked out.

"He must be deaf…" Diosa shook her head with a slight smile.

"Lets go help him before it's too late…demons and vamps could be too hard for just one…" Enigma walked to the back door as well along with Diosa at her side, "you comin?" she asked Dante.

"Yeah…" Dante followed the other two, staring at the dead body and shaking her head a little bit. When they made it to the back entrance, they saw Ryu standing in front of a broad brick road that could have been used as a road. What was in the road was substantial multitude of dead demons and vampires, heads twisted, hearts pulled out and those were the minor decapitations they faced.

"Whoa…Ryu's getting good…" Diosa laughed.

"I…didn't…do…that…but...but…I had that guy…" he looked up and pointed at a demon on the floor, squirming, his head almost off.

"Whoa indeed…" Enigma laughed at Ryu's effort of kill.

"I'll finish it…" Ryu took his sword and swiped off its head. Blood splattered through the air and landed back on the wet ground.

"Okay…Diosa, you need one, and we're all tied again…" Dante said forebodingly, "can you din one?" Dante looked at the outstretched moist brick road with the dead end far north.

"Um…let me see…" she looked around, "ooo, there!" Diosa took out a revolver aimed it in mid air and fired straight ahead.

"What are you shooting at?" asked Ryu, completely amused.

"That…" Diosa pointed at a moving object far up ahead, while the others focused they finally saw it…a vampire. The bullet wizened through the sky, made it to its victim, and danced through its skull, Diosa jumped in the sky and danced on the floor.

"We're even...we need a tie breaker…" Ryu admitted.

"Place looks empty…" Dante said looking around at the dead bodies, "who did all this is what I'm wondering," he walked forward a few steps.

"No matter, I'm gonna get the most guys…" Enigma laughed at the others. A low growl went off from above. The roof shook, as something jumped off the top and landed on the ground in front of the four fighters.

"Whoa…" Ryu gasped, "there's the tie breaker…" Ryu twirled his swords, the thing on the floor was half vamp, half demon. Its tongue soaked the ground even more than the rain had done before. Its eyes lit up with fury, it growled. Its speed seemed fast, with its hind legs, it could probably jump the 10yard wall ahead, and that's what it tried to do.

"Why is it running? Come and fight me like a-a-whatever it is you are!" Enigma yelled.

"There goes the tie breaker…" Dante sighed sarcastically.

"Lets go get it…" Ryu added in, "we can't let it go…"

"No point…he'll get it before you…" Enigma smiled, "you stand no chance, just like your chances of getting a girl…" she leaned against the wall next to Dante. The two of them looked at the other two, Diosa joined.

"Go get it…try and get first place…he can't get it, he nowhere in sight…" Diosa looked at Ryu with sarcastic confidence.

"Thank you for looking up to me…" he turned around, "faker…" he ran towards the dead end of the alleyway. Jumping over all the dead carcasses, halfway through the broad bricked road, the thing he was chasing squealed, he stopped. The air grew cold, as the thing was flung up into the sky, and ripped part by some incredible force. It remains landed on the ground. From those remains, darkness arose.

"I win."

"Dammit!" Ryu turned around and walked back to the wall with the others.

"Told you he'd get there first…" Enigma laughed.

"Well, that was unfair," Ryu leaned against the wall with the others, arms crossed.

"Angry because Morbid got there first?" Diosa pinched Ryu's cheeks. The darkness wandered over to the other four. He looked them from top to bottom and laughed a laugh that chilled their spines to the core.

"You did well, fourth overrun monarchy this month…" he walked passed them and into the building.

"Oh no he didn't…" Enigma got off the wall and ran to Morbid, she turned to him and walked backwards against his path, not stopping.

"That was all you had to say?" she raised her brow at him, as she also crossed her arms.

"Yes…" he responded unemotionally, "that is all…" he glided passed her and walked out the door. As the other four made it onto the streets, Morbid was gone, they looked at the sky and saw the sun rising.

"I missed my cartoons…great…" Ryu said putting on his helmet slowly.

"Don't worry, I taped `em for ya so ya don't whine…" Diosa patted him on the back.

"C'mon guys…we gotta get some rest for tomorrow," Dante revved up his bike and rode down the rode, Enigma was already ahead of him.

"Y'know, those two are almost alike…" Diosa shook her slowly, revved up the bike and followed with Ryu behind. After twenty minutes of riding past forest, the four finally got to the head quarters. The Grave was state of the art action base, with utmost security system. No being has made it in without permission, or they would fry. After passing the fifteen minutes of security check, the four of them made it to the Quiescent Span to rest.
