Fan Fiction ❯ Stormy Conscience ❯ Quick exit ( Chapter 15 )
Chapter 15, (Dragon POV) Quick exit.
The banquet was a waste of time, I found nothing out about the Generals or what was going on with the humans. I pretty much spent the time reassuring Lound that his niece would be fine and it was extremely unlikely that Cinsanati would hurt her in any shape or form. This was not helped by Max who pretty much said, `Well Dragon you never know with Cinsanati, he did break Chaos wrist and you have to admit that he is pretty unpredictable.' I think Lound had a slight panic attack, before I lied and said that he like children. Blade this time was kind enough to point out that `Nay you must be mistaken Dragon, he hates them he always complains that people yell at him when he hits them for being annoying. He finds them really frustrating especially then they keep asking questions.' I can't believe those guys they were doing it on purpose, Lound was off his head with worry and they were enjoying every moment of it. Though Blade did apologies afterwards for being such a jerk. I hope that Lound's niece is O.k. for all our sakes, it's just like Cinsanati to jeopardise our safety with a stupid stunt like that.
"You alright Dragon? You look annoyed. I hope the rest of the banquet went well." I turned around to see Cinsanati in the door way, he cautiously stepped forward and closed the door quietly behind him. He lent against the oak door as if he feared someone would try to break in.
"It did not go well and you are the reason so." I snarled and turned my back to him.
"I am sorry but I don't understand what you mean. I did nothing nor did I say anything to offend or threaten anyone. What did I do wrong?" He walked quickly so he was directly behind me, I could feel his stare bore in to the back of my skull. I spun around so I could return his glare, I was only a few inches away from his face. I shifted uncomfortably but didn't stand down.
"He thought you were going to hurt her or kill her. She's the heir of the Horse army, Cinsanati he doesn't trust you and you knew that so why disappear with her in toll? I had him having a panic attack, I was trying to comfort him but it wasn't working surprisingly enough because I had Blade and Max the other side of the table pretty much saying how it was really likely that you would probably hurt her and that you were a heartless fiend." I hiss at him in great infuriation. The door creaked open to show Blade,
"GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!" Cinsanati picked up the nearest thing, which was what looked like an expensive vase and threw it at Blade's head. He barely got out of the way and the vase smashed against the wall in the corridor.
"Geez, you're in your normal bad mood I see. I only came to say that Lound wants to see the Clan members to talk about Generals and stuff. He said he'd meet you in a bar, just off the banquet room. See there's no need to throw stuff at me." He slammed the door, he was obviously offended by Cinsanati's actions.
Cinsanati smirked slightly, "I bet you're torn between what to do."
"What do you mean Cinsanati? What is there to decide over?" I glare at him wondering what point his trying to make.
"Well, are you going to chase after your boyfriend and make sure his alright or are you going to see Lound and find out about the Generals." his smirk increased, he was obviously having fun twisting my feelings.
"Shut the hell up. I'm going to see Lound, you can come if you want but don't expect a warm welcome." I snap.
"Don't worry, I'll come and I'm sure someone will be nice to me." He smiled and followed me out of my room, grinning like an idiot. We managed to get there in the end, the directions just off the banquet room were not the best description. I strolled in closely by him, we were greeted by a child who came running up to us.
"CINSANATI! Wow you came to see me and my uncle cool." This caught me by surprise a lot to say the least. "Come sit next to me Cinsanati and tell me more about your adventures." She continued. I looked around the room to see Chaos sitting next to Lound and on a different table Max was with a group of young men. I hope he doesn't try anything. I sit the other side of Lound, with Cinsanati next to me and Catherine in-between him and Chaos. Lound glared at Cinsanati he was obviously wasn't pleased at the fact that Catherine seemed to be… well infatuated in Cinsanati. This was not going too well, we'd better get it over with quickly and leave.
"Lound tell me about Driane, why is he massacring innocent people?" I get directly to the point.
"Those people deserved to die, they are going to try and kill us. He is a General, Dragon he is the first to come, the earth lion. He is wiping out our enemies before they are ready he will lead the armies of the earth. His power is amazing you can feel it when you are near." Lound laughed "They don't stand a chance."
That explains a hell of a lot about Driane, now I know why he left the clan so suddenly he heard his calling. Soon there will be war…
"Ha Dragon and Chaos," I suddenly heard Max slur, he was drunk. This was not good. "That's really unlikely. Him and Blade. Yeah Blade's the one for him, they so want each other. It's only a matter of time I tell you." I blush and grab Max by the arm and started to drag him out of the room.
"What? Get the hell back he I demand it." Lound was on his feet and not looking happy.
"Oh shut up." Cinsanati laid a hard punch on his face knocking him unconscious. "Chaos you find the others and get the hell out of here." She disappeared and took Max with her.
"Come on Cinsanati." I yell at him "We need to get out of here now." He went to run to me, but Catherine grabbed his sleeve.
"Cinsanati, you had better come and see me again. You also better take care of yourself cos one day you and me are going to get married." She let go of his sleeve. Cinsanati turned and ran after me towards the stables.
"Well done Cinsanati, I could have probably talked my way out of that situation, but no you have to knock him out." I barge through the doors to the stable which was situated just outside of the city wall. The others were already mounted up and ready to go. Freedom was holding both our horses for us so we could leave as soon as possible. I literally jumped on to the horse and gave him a kick to get him in to a steady canter. "And what was that kid saying about marrying you one day?" Blade, Max and Triks snickered.
"I haven't a clue." He blushed slightly, that was a first I had never seen him blush.
"And you take the piss out of me, saying that it's girly to blush. You hypocrite." I smirk at him as he just glares and mutters something which sounds like `barstad' under his breath. It took a good four hours to reach the other side of the savannah, Chaos's wrist looked like it had been healed so she was able to keep up with out any discomfort. I pulled my horse back to slow it down so that we didn't just charge through the thicket and then I felt him he was so close.
"Driane" I muttered to myself.
"What about him?" Blade looked at me, I hadn't realised that he was right next to me.
"Huh? Oh he is waiting. He is waiting for us to find him, he is so close, just another hour's ride." I smile we were approaching our target.
"But why now, why not wait for us before, it would have saved us a hell of a lot of time." He sighed frustrated.
"I don't know, perhaps he wanted me to understand why he killed those people, before he saw me." I stared at the ground intensely thinking.
"Or maybe he isn't waiting for you at all maybe he is waiting for someone else altogether and it is just a coincidence that we may finally catch up with him." Cinsanati stated, he had a point. What if it wasn't us he was waiting for, I shouldn't just jump to conclusions.
"Are we going to stand here all day wondering why this bloke is waiting for us of are we going to go?" Max, for once being logical, demanded.
"You're right Max, let's just find him and figure it out later." I kicked my horse on into the dense thicket, which surrounded the savannah like a small defence wall stopping human riders from accidentally stumbling across the Horse's city. It was getting darker but there was no point in stopping to rest as he would not wait for us forever, we must hurry to him. I don't even know why I seek him now, it is just a gut instinct telling me to find him, fate is leading me there. I must find him, he calls for me.
