"Empty Innocent"

You are finally broken down
Empty bottles surround you
You just played me in your selfish game
To satisfy your own needs.
Oh, how you played so innocent,
When we first met.
Our childhoods collided,
Fate, as you once said.
You crawled to me,
Saying you need my help.
I can just say this,
The help I gave to you,
Didn't get you very far.
Oh, how you played so innocent,
When we first met.
Our childhoods collided,
Fate, as you once said.
You are back drinking
In your silent and unresolved way.
Sitting in the darkness,
Wallowing in your pain,
As you call it, but I say
It's just being hungry for the light
Thatyou craved, not so long ago.
Light collides with dark.
Day turns into night.
Where were you
Thenight
That everything, fell apart?
Oh, how you played so innocent,
When we first met.
Our childhoods collided,
Fate, as you once said.
I was light, you were dark.
I was day you were night.
But we never met once.
Only grazed each other with
passing thoughts.
But not really seeing eye to eye.
Oh, how you played so innocent,
When we first met.
Our childhoods collided,
Fate, as you once said.
Oh you played innocent oh so well.
You fooled be until the bitter end.      ©
