Claimer: I wrote this for my more-than-just-a-friend, Mike.
Angel
I was curled in the dark,
I was curled in the dark,
my eyes red from the never ending stream of tears.
Shivers were the only thing keeping my body awake.
There was always a slight light,
but I never ran to it.
I stayed where I was, wishing and wishing,
someone would finally pull me out.
To let me breathe again, to breathe
the clean air and the warmth of it once more.
No one ever came.
I was stuck there it seemed to me.
All I needed was an angel, an angel.
An angel with the touch of warmth,
to bring my body and mind to the surface again.
To the light.
My angel came alas, but the dark kept it's firm grip.
I felt safety in the dark, no one could see me.
No one could see how I am.
But it felt as if it was a lonely safety...
My angel held out his hand, pleading with me...
Telling me come with him to a better place,
A better place with him to watch over me.
For the first time,
I felt alive and wanted.
I took his hand, which led to a tight hug,
then the light came.
It poured itself over me.
For the first time in a long time,
I felt the safety of the light.
