And so many others we can't really keep track of it. ^^;
Category: AU, RPG
Rating: this chapter... PG? May go up soon... *is getting poked by My-chan: "NC-17!"* *sweatdrops*
Pairings: Aragorn/Legolas, others as well *glances over to Elladan & Elrohir*
Warnings: Slash, OOC (of Arwen mostly), slavery, angst...
Spoilers: A few... not really as I don't remember much of the book, just that Aragorn became King of Gondor in the end and that Arwen was his Queen.
Summary: After seven years of marriage, the excitement of being together has vanished from Aragorn's and Arwen's marriage... maybe a present might change this.
Disclaimer: You know the deal don't you? J.R.R. Tolkien invented them, and if we owned them, we would be related to him, but since neither I nor My-chan are... we just play around with them, toy with their minds and use them for fun only. <insert evil laughter here>
Notes&Comments: This was written by me and My-chan as a rpg and ever since Pretending And Being, a wild mix of German and English, we have this nearly "exhibitionistic" need for feedback from various places. ^^;; So please be gentle.
Now on to the story itself. I know that this may look like a serious Arwen-bashing story, but please be reassured that we don't mean to cause any harm to anybody who likes her. She is just for causes of story-telling such a bitch here. ^^;
The Sindarin we used (and transformed for ourselves) comes from a little program called Dragon Flame (which I always think that it is this game I don't want to play unless I know I am on my own), but since it didn't have all the words we needed, we had to make them up. If you have any questions feel free to send an email to any of us... and hope that we still know what we wanted to say. ^^;;;;
________________________________________________________________ _
After Aragorn had left, Elladan found himself in his brother's arms once more and soon both of them lay on the bed, cuddling and simply enjoying each other's proximity. But as soon as the younger one's growling stomach interrupted the coziness again, Elrohir decided that it was about time for them to get something to eat. The twins fed each other with the berries, pieces of sweet cake and various fruits from the tray until they were full and once more contentedly snuggled up to each other.It didn't take too long though for another hunger to rise in them and after the encouragement of the green-eyed elf the slightly older one finally took back what was his, marked his brother as his again and finally let all the signs of the night before disappear.
Exhausted like never before in his whole life Elladan pressed his back against his twin's chest, contented with the feeling of his lover still buried deep inside of him and the pleasant warmth that spread through his body, warming him up entirely."Meleth-Nin.." he murmured lovingly as he drifted off to sleep once more, not loosening the hold on his brother's hand that rested on his battered upper body, fingers gently entwined…
In her almost mindless pursuit of finding something to do, something to move her thoughts away from the pain and... guilt even that she felt, Arwen found her way to the chambers of her brothers, who had announced that they wanted to talk to her, but never really did it. So maybe if she made the first step, it would get herself away from the tirade she was sensing that was about to come from the twins.Carefully she walked up to the door and knocked gently. Immediately she heard the giggles coming from the other side and shook her head slightly. "It's me... Arwen... Are you dressed? Can I come in?"
"Tinu?" she heard a voice coming from inside... that sounded rather breathless, how she noted. "Yes," she sighed before she added with a little grin, "It's me, your little sister, you Baálên."
Elladan felt a little pain in his heart as he heard this name, the name that their mother always called them and that he hadn't heard for so many years, decades, centuries almost. But nevertheless a little smile crept on his features as he pulled the blanket a little higher to cover his and his brother's body where they lay cuddling on the bed in a very... cozy embrace."You can come in without danger, Tinu." Another wave of giggles was heard outside and suddenly the green-eyed elf felt as if he was only a few centuries of age again, and was caught kissing with his brother by their parents for the first time. It felt good to be childish like this from time to time and Elladan simply enjoyed it.
He snuggled up to Elrohir a little closer and rubbed his nose softly against the older one's cheek before he kissed the skin lovingly. "I love you," the younger one whispered and rested his head on his twin's shoulder.Silently Arwen opened the door and closed it just as silently behind her and then walked into the bedroom. Where she found her brothers lying in the bed, just where she had expected them, judging from the sounds that had come to her ear. And she knew why she had asked whether they were dressed or not, because she had somehow known that they were not.
She sighed and leaned against the bed post to look at them, shaking her head slightly. "You're incorrigible... I asked whether you are dressed or not." Smiling sheepishly she continued, "Don't you want to get dressed?""Actually I don't feel much like moving at all," Elladan replied smugly and grinned at his sister. "This pillow is much too comfortable to just leave i... As for that... you should be used to this by now," he added with a soft chuckle and his hand moved up to caress Elrohir's chest.
The older twin purred contentedly at this movement and tightened his grip on Elladan's shoulders a little more. He placed a little kiss on the dark mop and then rubbed his cheek against it with a happy smile before he looked back at their sister.Sighing once more, Arwen moved to sit down at the foot-end of the bed. "Of course I am. But well, somehow I was hoping that you had grown up a little more since I was a little Elfling. It seems my hope has been in vain."
"Definitely," was the only thing Elladan managed to say before another wave of giggles fell from his lips and he buried his face in Elrohir's shoulder as it deepened into a soft laughter. Then he slightly backed away again, looking up at his brother with slightly clouded eyes. "What do you think made us feel like this?" He spotted over to the almost empty tray and saw a few last crumbs of the cake. "Do you think it was that cake?" Another giggle. "Pete must have drugged us."The younger one of the Elf-brothers buried his face in his twin's mass of hair and started giggling again, feeling how the body of Elrohir moved underneath him as well, giggling soundlessly. "I'm sorry, Tinu," he managed to press out. "But it seems impossible to stop."
Arwen sighed and shook her head. "You are really incorrigible." Of course she knew that it was not Pete or his cake that made them this giggly, but sex. "And insatiable," she added with a tiny grin playing on her lips. Somehow she wondered what had been the reason now for them to have sex, but then she also knew that the twins didn't need a reason to have sex with each other.Elladan put the most innocent look on his face that he could find in his repertoire and looked at his little sister, blinking his eyes. "Insatiable? Oh... well... yes…maybe..." A new wave of giggles shook his lithe body and it covered perfectly the small wince coming from the younger one of the twins as he felt the outer line of Elrohir's ribs poking his injured chest.
He shifted a bit, holding the blanket so that it didn't slip away and revealed his wounds and moved a bit upwards where he lay back down on the brown-eyed Elf's creamy chest.Sensing that something was not the way it usually was, Arwen turned to look at the pair lying in the bed she was sitting on. Elladan was somehow hiding his face in Elrohir's chest while the other twin was as mute as a snowflake. Usually he put his thoughts into such a conversation as well, but now she couldn't even hear him snicker. Which made her slightly suspicious.
"Ellani... why is Elloni so silent?" she asked, trying to start with the most obvious thing."Hm?.. Oh!" Elladan looked from his sister to his brother and just watched the movement of his jaw for a moment, as if the older one wanted to answer by himself. But Elrohir knew better than to put himself in the pain of speaking and so the younger one took the liberty to answer the question.
"Because he can't talk," he said as he rested his head back on the shoulder it had been lying on before. "Well, he can of course, but his throat is awfully sore from singing for me last night and speaking hurts him." The younger one leaned in a bit and placed a sweet little kiss on said sore throat."Oh, that's nice," Arwen smiled, but then frowned. The last time somebody had to sing for Elladan the whole night was when their beloved mother sailed away to the Undying Lands. So something must have happened to the green-eyed twin, something very horrible.
"Why did he have to?" she asked thus, "what happened to you?"Elladan blinked at the question and looked at Arwen rather dumbfounded for a moment before he realized what a grave mistake he just made. But then again, he wouldn't have been able to hide the truth from her forever.
The only thing that he could do now was telling her the truth in a way that didn't sound too… terrifying. He needed to make it look like it was nothing. Well not nothing but not as bad as it really was."I... got injured," he started, searching for the right words before he continued, "and the pain wouldn't let me sleep. So Elladan sang for me." Mostly this was the truth, even though it had been the mental pain that had kept haunting him, not the physical.
"How did you get injured?" Arwen asked, curling up her legs underneath her. She could sense that her brother wasn't really in the mood to talk about that, but she was his sister and it was her right to know about what was troubling him. She would have wanted to know if he had fallen in love with someone too, but that wasn't really likely to happen. Three thousand years and they hadn't changed very much... just like she remarked earlier, she reminded herself.The younger twin sighed almost imperceptible. Of course Arwen wanted to know more, and it would most likely be best to tell her what happened, well most of it. Elladan reconsidered his words for a moment before he started to talk again.
"I got into a fight... with two humans. They were stronger than me and overpowered me quite easily." He turned his face slightly, showing her the bruising on his cheek. "But it's nothing serious," he added before his little sister could get too worried. "Elrohir saved me."The woman's hands flew to her mouth as she saw the really nasty black eye. Nothing serious? How could he say that? A bruise like that was VERY serious, especially on an Elf's usually flawless face. She almost jumped up and crawled over Elrohir to gingerly touch her brother's cheek, not wanting to supply more pain to it.
"By the Valar..."Elladan only smiled at his sister. He had almost expected a reaction like this because he knew how horrifying it was for her to see wounds or even just bruises on the ones she loved, especially the members of her family. Gently he took her smaller hand in his and moved to kiss her palm in a soothing attempt.
"Hush, Tinu. It looks worse than it is." 'I guess,' he added in his mind since he didn't really have an idea what it looked like as he hadn't seen himself in a mirror yet. And he would prefer not to. Absentmindedly he pulled the blanket yet a little higher. Elladan didn't want Arwen to see the rest of his body. Judging from her reaction towards his black eye, his battered upper body would probably make her freak out."And it doesn't really hurt anymore," he tried to reassure.
"But..." she only managed to choke out between the tears that threatened to collect in her eyes. Arwen blinked them away though as she felt a heavy, but warm hand on her back touching her gently.Elrohir really wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone right now even though his throat felt much better after the tea and the ministrations of his brother, but he wanted his sister to feel not so concerned about this whole matter. Elladan had had some trouble working it out, but they didn't really need her to roll up all this pain again.
Blinking again, something inside of her broke free, all the pain she felt that she thought had healed, but also the sorrow about the things she had done and realized much too late that they were wrong and she started to sob, burying her face into the blanket on the older twin's chest. Whose eyebrows shot up in concern and worry at that display.Elladan's expression also darkened for one second feeling somewhat guilty because he thought that something he did was the cause for this, but then he realized that the reason for his sister's outburst lay much deeper.
"Ti... Tinu...." He moved closer to her, gently resting his forehead against her shoulder and murmured soothing words into her elegantly pointed ear. "It's alright," he cooed, "you don't need to hold it back anymore... we're here for you..."On the other hand the younger one of the twins was glad. He'd rather help his sister with her pain than finding himself faced with his own again.
His arms finding their way around the narrow frame of his sister, Elrohir did the simplest and only thing that came to his mind: holding her as she sobbed louder and harder."It... it is all my fault, isn't it?" she managed to choke out after a while. "Just because of me you are here.... If I hadn't asked you to come here... you'd never get threatened by this.... by this monster!" She sniffed, soundly, burying her face deeper into that blanket.
The younger one of the twins shook his head softly. "Don't say that, Tinu. You might have invited us, but coming here was our own decision to make. And we're glad that we did. We missed you a lot." He moved to kiss her right temple gently."Besides this only happened because of my carelessness. And if I had trained more at home, instead of just chilling out with lazy here," he glanced up and Elrohir with a little smirk, "I would have been able to defend myself more properly."
He moved his head closer to Arwen's again and ruffled her silky hair with his nose. "So you see... you don't have any reasons to feel guilty. Not because of me."Elrohir shot his brother a glance of, 'Well, when I'm the lazy one here, why was I able to get you out of there on my own?' This was indeed a very old fight between them and even if the brown-eyed twin had been able to talk, he wouldn't have said anything, because he knew it wasn't worth the effort.
Arwen on the other hand wasn't quite so happy with her brother's explanation. "It's not just that. I'm responsible for the fact that Estel spends more time with his slave than me. I thought it was good present, everybody is having slaves now to make them feel better and Estel really deserved the best of the best and this Elf... he was just perfect. But how... he... he looked very much like you now, Ellani, when I saw him first," she finally choked out, forcing herself to calm a bit to tell the story."Bruises everywhere... He looked terrible, but beautiful. I guess that's the reason why I ever bought him.... And now... I see that he is not only beautiful outside, but also managed to bring out something of Estel that I couldn't... At least not in the past years. Oh, brothers! Estel and I have been apart most of the time and this managed to make our love blossom, but now that we're able to see each other every day... it doesn't work anymore. We... cannot be together," she said sadly, casting her eyes down on Elrohir's chest, speaking out what had been on her mind for longer than she would want to realize.
All Elladan managed was to simply stare at his sister with an almost blank face. Only his eyes showed the shock that those words caused. This just couldn't be true. Their sister had bought a slave... one of their own kind... because he was pretty? The younger one felt as if there was something screeching in his mind, a full emergency stop."A... Arwen... are you trying to tell me...." No wait... that was a bad start.
Elladan took a few deep breaths, closed his eyes for a moment and then looked at his sister again, his look anything but friendly or understanding."So you bought Legolas because he looked pretty despite all his bruises? And because Estel deserves only the best? Not that I say that he doesn't deserve the best... but Arwen! What has gotten into you?!" There he paused for a second, considering if he should go on like this, but found that he was exactly on the right way.
"Legolas is an Elf, he's one of OUR kind! When you saw his wounds the first thing in your mind should have been what he has been through, not how pretty he looks. If you told me that you bought him because you knew that Aragorn would treat him good, and because you wanted to prevent him from even more horrible things then I would have understood your decision, might have even supported it. But THIS is just not right, Arwen!"The green-eyed Elf panted after his little outburst of rage, still staring wide-eyed at his sister. A shade of regret was now darkening his emerald eyes, but he shook it away. He might feel a little bad for almost yelling at her, but he meant every word he said and he didn't regret them one bit.
Arwen looked up with wide sad and terrified eyes, staring at Elladan. She knew that she had not been right in her mind that month before when she had bought this blond Elf, but having it rubbed right into her face was really a tad too much."I... I did feel sorry for him..." she admitted lowly, her voice only a barely audible whisper. "I just... I just thought he was beautiful under all these bruises and that... well, that Estel deserved him. I... I... I am sorry... that... I didn't think of.... that... back then..." she sniffled and hid her face in Elrohir's shoulder again as a new well of tears rose to her eyes.
Elladan tried, he really tried but he couldn't feel sorry. He didn't like to see his sister crying her eyes out it front of him, and he would have loved to spend solace, but still he couldn't. He guessed that it was her reasons for buying Legolas that made him feel so cold towards her now, or maybe it was his own pain. Elladan didn't know.In some ways he could even understand her motives. She was just thinking about Aragorn back then, and how she could do something good to him. Of course the younger twin's thoughts were mostly centered on his brother, but he also had other things on mind as well. Especially when it came to something like a tormented being that was also an Elf.
"Arwen... I understand that you only wanted to find a good present for Estel and that you didn't think about other things back then... but... didn't you know that Estel doesn't like having slaves? That he doesn't like the whole idea of slavery at all?" he asked, his voice softer now. He even found the strength to put his hand on her back and caress it slightly."I know this has gone way out of your control, yours and Estel's as well. But you really need to fix this. Even if you can't pass the test of time as a couple, as lovers, you're still brother and sister in some way, and nothing would hurt us more than to see you two despising or even hating each other..."
Arwen shook her head fiercely, rubbing her now tear-stained face against Elrohir's shoulder, feeling her brother's arms closing around her to spend solace. But he didn't tense as he heard the younger twin's words as if he despised them, but somehow supported him in this matter. On the other hand he didn't want to make their sister feel bad though."I love him!" She protested. "I love Estel! I still love him! I always will! He just..." At this point she looked up at Elrohir again. "He just... forgot about our love."
"No!" Elladan suddenly erupted, almost glaring at his sister. "Elbereth, Arwen! Can't you even see it? You stopped loving Estel a long time ago! The fire that was between the two of you died out, may it be slowly and steadily or all at once, it definitely did!"The dark-haired Elf sat up and took a deep breath to be able to actually get enough air as he was talking very loud and very sternly now. The blanket slipped down his upper body in the process but he couldn't have cared less.
"Arwen, can't you see that you just think you still love him, because you're used to loving him? Back then your relationship was enticing, it was adventurous and even dangerous in some ways, because he was untamed and wild. But he has gotten boring to you over the years as king. And don't you deny that! After all it was YOU who had a lover first! And now you're complaining that he doesn't love you anymore? How twisted is that?!"Elladan was panting and he lowered his hands again that he had moved rather erratic just a moment before and clutched the blanket with a very tight grip, hearing a little protesting sound from the cloth, but didn't let go of it. There was too much rage inside of him now and he needed something to hold onto in case not to give in to his need to hit something to vent his anger.
The woman actually jerked at the outburst of her brother, staring at him in mild disbelief and stronger shock. What she saw made her gasp, all those black spots and bruises and she realized that Elladan really looked like the slave back when she had bought him. Maybe not as bad, but not even she could deny that it wasn't much of a difference. It made new tears well in her eyes as she felt sorry for him.As her brother ranted on, she wanted to protest, wanted to say that she did love Estel, but somehow his words made it to the very base of her being and she lowered her gaze back on the broad shoulder of her other brother, her sensitive ears hearing well what Elladan had to say although she would have preferred nothing more than to shut her senses down and zone out these words.
They hurt, they hurt her in the deepest center of her soul, but somehow she realized that they were true. She was lying to herself, clinging to that dream of her being the faithful little wife to her beloved husband, while her body decided that she was far beyond that, that she wanted more than just to sit around and wait for something that would never come.She said nothing and just stared down, all the while feeling Elrohir's heavy and warm hand on her back. All of a sudden she felt numb though, every feeling of her body had subsided and all that was left was a very dark void. And if there hadn't been this warm feeling radiating from the hand on her back, she would have lost it and would have fallen into that void, broken into thousand little shards. But that hand made her remember what she had.
She had Rhÿn. She had her horses. She had her brothers. She had her life on this earth. She had the respect of her maidens. Ban cared for her, too, and all those other people around her. And if she didn't cling to Estel like she did, she thought that they could make friends again... if they were not able to be lovers. At this point she agreed with Elladan. They were brother and sister and thus she cared for him. Maybe that was the feeling she misinterpreted as love...Taking a very deep breath which sounded almost like a sob, she pushed herself up from where she was lying on Elrohir, head bowed low. She smiled softly, but a bit sad, too and placed a kiss on the currently mute twin's cheek before she dared to look up into Elladan's face.
The younger twin had desperately tried to calm down again. It was enough. He had hurt his sister far more than he wanted. Actually he didn't want to hurt her at all, he just needed to get this out and it ended up way harsher than he had intended it. He didn't feel sorry though, just relieved. Someone had to say it and probably it was good that it was him.He was still staring nowhere when he heard his sister slightly moved again and finally he turned back towards Arwen when he felt her gaze on himself. Slowly he looked up, hoping that the burning rage was gone from his eyes as he now looked back into those midnight-blue pools.
"I'm not going to apologize..." he started after a few moments of silence, his voice low and calm. "Because it needed to be said... just know... that it wasn't meant to hurt you, Tinu..."Another soft smile made its way on Arwen's face as she heard the very faint sentence that denied to be the apology it really was. But then she cast her eyes down again and she saw the bruises on Elladan's body, making fresh worry creep onto her face. Almost on its own her hand reached out to touch the bruise very gently with the very tips of her fingers.
"Thank you," she sighed, as she traced the reddish line very lightly, barely touching it."You're welcome," Elladan whispered back and shivered slightly at the ghost-like touch on his wounds. He raised his hand and closed it around her narrower one with a gentle hold. "Tinu... that tickles.."
Arwen blinked and then her smile turned into a little grin as she shoved every dark thought away and tried to get back to what had once been between her and her brothers."Oh, does it?" she asked, wiggling her hand softly out of Elladan's hold. "How about this?" With that she started a minor tickle-attack on her brother, scratching softly at the places where he had no bruises, and brushing lightly over places where she saw red or black lines.
Precaution made Elrohir sit up and move out of range as he was sitting in the middle of a battlefield. The last thing he was looking forward to was to getting hurt in a tickle-fight between his brother and his sister.A wide grin spread over the younger twin's features and he laughingly tried to avoid his sister's touches as he let himself fall back onto the bed, his sister following the movement. When he saw how Elrohir moved away though the grin became a little devilish and he motioned to Arwen that they would tackle the older one together.
"Darlin' ... where do you think you're going?" he asked with a low voice that held a seductive tone but most of all a predatory purr as he crawled closer to him.Elrohir only managed a gulp as he saw how two grinning faces and four lifted hands approached him... with no place for him to flee to.
To be continued...
