Chapter 3

Raphan gazed around him at the many angels gathered together. They were a vast web of light, multi-colors, and shades; yet their spirits blackened the world around them like oil, spreading like a wet stain, soaking in and remaining. They were tense, many handling their weapons nervously, for this was a battle they had been waiting for. All they awaited for was to have Lucifer come and give them the commands to march into battle, such was their loyalty to the great Arch-Angel.

In the past few Gaean lunas(1) many of the rebellion had started to talk more and more with only those of their comrades they knew were aligned with Lucifer. They spoke Hentai almost constantly now, and the hisses and growls floated to Raphan high above the multitude.

He was nervous, tense, uneasy. Such an army could remain together for only a short time without the head of the dragon showing them what to do. Otherwise fights would break out, and the army would fall apart, and that was something that could not be had. And while Raphan had a wonderful ability with words, only Lucifer could sway some of these angels, for he had instilled in them a loyalty to him and his power, his abilities alone. So for now, Raphan would have to rely on other things, such as the power he was granted as second-in-command of this army.

Seir(2), one of Lucifer’s appointed generals of the army, joined Raphan above the crowd of angels. Raphan glanced at him for a moment before returning to his survey of the army, the rebels. “Ssslevayassss, Beelzebub(3),” Seir greeted him politely, the same thoughts on his mind as Raphan’s. “Ssslevaysssss, Satan(4)” Raphan returned gracefully.

It had become common for the rebelling angels only to know a few of each in the rebellion, so that if someone decided to turn tale they would have to go through Lucifer first, who knew all of the angels as if they were his closest friends. It wasn’t too surprising for some of the angels to make exclamations about this or that angel who they discovered in this fight for overthrowing Jaeger.

“A third of all of Ralmuci,” Raphan murmured to himself. “It is a quite a few angels, yes?” Seir asked, not expecting an answer, voice soft implications and raging temperaments . Indeed, it was a large amount of angels, for there were thousands upon millions of them, stretching far beyond the sight of even the sharp angel eye, a low rumble like thunder coming from them.

There was a soft flutter behind them, and they turned as one, as if they were aware of the danger as a mouse is of the cat at its back. Lucifer looked at both of them cryptically, a small, secretive smile upon his face, as if pleased with some unknown something. “Ssslevaysss, Beelzebub, Ssssatan,” he greeted, the serpentine quality of his voice coming back, wrapping around their minds seductively, tempting them. The both instantly relaxed at that voice, so soft, so insinuating.
“Sssslevaysss, Lussssifer,” they returned as one, and he nodded pleasantly, hiding his treacherous nature easily. Lucifer had kept his natural name, if only because no one could seem to think of one better, one that suited the angel, for his voice did not change in its quality as manys did, but remained as lyrical as ever. But he bore two other names, Satiel (serpentine one) and Taeuschengrossekraftvoll (deceiver of great power)

“They seem very eager to start,” Lucifer commented, gesturing toward the vast crowd below. Many were waiting with an impatient, expectant air, and there were some angry buzzes that could be heard at how slow things were going. Smiling, Lucifer flew higher into the air, until all could see him, and all talk died down to a whisper, then that too faded as the sounds on the wind do when the wind stops blowing.

“Ssslevaysss!” he cried, his voice stunning, rousing, carrying far across the crowd, stirring their holy blood. There came a shout that was something of a greeting, and Raphan smiled at Seir, for they both knew that he would deliver another rousing speech to his army.

“We have gathered because of our beliefs! We gathered together because we thought that serving someone other than he who created us was wrong! We did not come for blood, we did not come for battle. Yet it would seem that Jaeger and Ralmuci see this as a threat! What, I ask you, what did we ever do to provoke them, harm them?” Lucifer said, his voice carrying, grabbing minds, squeezing them to what he said, twisting their minds and drawing them to what they had to believe to follow him. It came easily now, for many had long since forgot the way that he had threatened some, convinced others, and drew them all to him, the light that kills the moths at night.

“We are a group that wants peace! We want it to be understood that we can serve no other besides Jaeger! But the fools will not listen to us.” He paused for a moment, uncharacteristically, bitterness creeping into his eyes. Lucifer continued again after he had once again gained his composure. “I am tired of this charade, of this finding us and calling us traitors. How many of us have met with pain for this? I will not stand back anymore and watch my brethren be harmed. I will fight. I will declare war, if it means that we can save Ralmuci from the fool called Jaeger!” His voice stirred blood, stirred their hearts, moving them to his cause gently, then firmly. They were his, there was no way that they could leave him now.

“I believe that I fight for a just cause, for a cause that deserves to be listened to! I believe that we stand together in a way that all of the other angels of Ralmuci never can! And I will take Ralmuci by force if it means peace for all of Ralmuci! Who will go with me?” he roared, and the resounding cheer was loud, clear, a crash of rolling thunder that would never end.

“To battle!” he shouted, and they forgot that they were the ones thirsty for blood, believing that their cause was righteous, that those who followed Jaeger were wrong by choosing Him for leader. They did not realize that they were going because Lucifer wanted them to. For Lucifer’s goal, not their own. For in Lucifer’s mind there was thought of only one thing:

Revenge.

(1)months- Yes, I know that in Ralmuci (heaven) there is no time, but there is an Eden, so I’m using ITS time.
(2)emotional one- originally, this was Moloch. He has been changed due to the fact more information was given for this one.
(3) ‘greetings, lord of flies’- one of my personal favorites, Beelzebub, and an introduction of his demonic name
(4) ‘greetings, one of fiery rage

I had to edit Lucifer's speech a number of times, and I'm still not statisfied with it. Don't be surprised if you look back later and find that I have tweaked it yet again.
