6:The Upper Hand

Cyborg was having a hard time. Whatever Dark Flame had done she was now a bigger problem then ever. Cyborg was having to blast hordes on black flame monsters. All the while Dark Flame was using her powers. Something suddenly occurred to Cyborg.

“Those are the same powers Slade had,” Cyborg said barely dodging a blast from Dark Flame.

Dark Flame burst into laughter, “Don’t think my powers are as pathetic as that human. He simply powered the power of the Eternal Flame. I and I alone hold the true power of the Eternal Flame!”

Dark Flame fired a blast of fire at the ground. The black flames spread across the ground and then formed a ring around Cyborg. It was about nine feet wide and the creatures were gone. Cyborg couldn’t see Dark Flame, but he didn’t have to look for long.

Dark Flame came rushing through the ring of fire. Cyborg barely dodged and fired his cannon. Dark Flame vanished into a cloud of black flames. When she appeared again she was swinging a flaming whip. Cyborg was frantically trying to dodge Dark Flame’s attacks.

Draco was having a hard time as well. The girl he was stuck fighting was toying with him. Draco hadn’t drawn his sword as the girl would warp all over the room. She would purr in his air and it was really pissing Draco off. As Draco whirled to back fist the girl she floated back and giggled.

Draco glared at her. She was dressed in an erotic version of a school girl’s uniform. Draco growled and rushed the girl. Just as he reached her she smiled and touched him. Draco lost control of his body and screamed in agony. He went to his hands and knees when the girl stopped touching him.

“We didn’t really introduce ourselves. I am Circi the Lightning Witch,” the girl said.

“Draco,” Draco huffed, “Angel of Honor.”

“Oh I know who you are. You’re the one that corrupted my big brother.”

Her voice changed, it stopped being sweet and innocent. Draco’s attention went to what she said. He’d corrupted her big brother. Draco knew that only Crow was a demon that he’d changed.

“Are you talking about Corvus?” Draco asked working his way to his feet.

“Yes. You replaced his demonic power with that horrid angelic power!”

“Now I get it. That’s why Puppet Master didn’t destroy the gate. You’re going to try and bring him over to your side.”

“You catch on quick. But you’ve got to die either way.”

As Draco stood he prepared himself for whatever lay ahead. He sighed and pulled his sword from its sheath. Draco had to get to Crow before they did.

Robin was having problems of his own. As soon as he’d entered the room he’d been covered in a black aura. The Aura pulled away from him turning into a replica of him. Robin threw a punch and duplicate threw the same punch. Robin was amazed that the demon had been able to copy him to perfectly.

“What are you?” Robin asked.

He got no answer, only a smile. What surprised Robin more was when the demon changed into Robin’s Dark Phoenix. Robin hadn’t used his powers since he’d gotten them. Somehow Robin knew that he wouldn’t be able to win if he didn’t use them now.

Robin sighed as his spear appeared in a flash of golden flames. The spear was gold with the spear head resembling a bird with its wings pointed forward. The copycat held out his hand smiling. In a burst of black flames a black version of Robin’s spear appeared in his hand. With each one holding their spear at the other, they stared each other down.

Starfire was too busy being confused by her opponent. He was dancing with her. As they danced he smiled.

“Why don’t you join us? This place could use a pretty face,” he said smiling at Starfire.

“I’m afraid I must decline your offer. I have a home with my friends,” Starfire said.

The two stopped dancing and the man sighed, “Well I don’t like fighting much.”

“If you do not wish to fight, then do not.”

The man smiled, “Afraid I can’t do that. We have to kill each other.”

“If we must, then let us do it quickly.”

Starfire’s fists began glowing and the man kept smiling, “No one’s told you of tradition have they.”

“What do you mean?”

“We introduce ourselves before the fight can begin.”

“My name is Starfire.”

“My name is Nappa, the Key Master.”

Nappa kept smiling as Starfire’s fists began to glow. She began hurling star bolts at the Key Master. The Key Master began floating backwards a few inches above the ground. He easily dodged Starfire’s attacks.

As the Titans were fighting Beast Boy was flying through a maze of hallways. A thought popped into his head as he flew. Beast Boy found himself thinking of Crow. Why he wasn’t sure, but he took it as a sign that he was closing in on Raven. He dropped from the sky and turned into a blood hound and began tracking her scent.

Back in the main hall Crow and Puppet Master were clashing. Crow had formed a shadow sword shaped like a katana. Puppet master had ripped one of the curved blades from one of his puppets. The two were dueling all the while using their powers against the other.

Puppet Master would summon more of his patchwork puppets and Crow would create shadow tentacles to lash out and the puppets or Puppet Master. The two had made no progress towards victory. Neither was faster then the other. Crow smiled showing off his fangs. As a puppet hurled itself at him he buried a clawed hand into its head and then tore the head off.

The smile Puppet Master had been sporting faded quickly, “I grow tired of this. Why don’t we make this more fun. Find the Key and make your way to my hold. Your mate is there.”

Puppet Master turned his back to Crow. Crow lunged forward but was buried by a horde of puppets. With a roar he threw them off and rushed for the large double doors. He reached them just as they slammed shut behind Puppet Master. Crow slammed at the doors trying break through but they wouldn’t budge.

“Find the key huh?” Crow smiled sinisterly his eyes glowing red, “Sounds like fun.”
