Angel of Darkness
Chapter 1: Life in the Underworld

Memiko traced the halls with her faithful companion Suku. Suku hissed as she sensed another presence other than her and her master's. Suku transformed into a black panther with red fur on the tips of her ears, paws and tail. She looks just like this only in a kitty form when she or Memiko isn't threatened.
Suku's green eyes began to glow as she protectively stood infront of Memi-sama. Kaminari walked out from the shadowy corner that he was standing in.
"Oh hello Kami-san. What are you doing here? I thought you'd be watching the streets for Newerz. (A/N: Newerz are the new arrivals to the Underworld.) The blue-furred wolf-like creature walked forward and smiled.
"You seem quite out of it today, are you alright?" Kami said as he drew his attention to Suku, who was purring and rubbing herself against his legs.
Memiko smiled as she remembered when Kaminari first came to the world with his sister Kurai, and he was completely terrified. Kami usually stays away from everyone including his sister and he rarely ever talks to anyone. Memiko was able to break down his barrier and get him to talk. Since then Kami would only talk to Memiko. But Kami isn't shy. He just doesn't really like to talk to anyone. But he is quick to react.
Memiko doesn't trust many people but since she became ruler over the underworld, she had met people that seem shady but she knows that she can trust them. Since Memiko is immortal and stopped aging at the age of 16, she has remained the way she is for more than 1,000 years.
Kaminari always thought she was pretty but he liked her in the way a little brother would admire his older sister. He is a very bright demon; just being around Memiko he has been able to figure out that she is a very caring person who is really nice but she believes that being nice is for whimps. ~She's been down here for too long.~ Kami always thought.
"I'm okay, just a little stressed with the new arrivals." Memi lied.
"Sure you are..."said Nageki. The raven haired, turquoise eyed girl popped out from a corner. "Hey Kami-chan!" Nageki shouted. Kami turned his gaze to the floor and tapped his halberd on the stoned floor. "What's his problem?" Nageki asked getting a bit annoyed.
Memiko quickly changed the subject, "How many Newerz were there today?" Nageki rose her eyebrow in thought. Her furry tan cat ears twitched, "Umm. . . I think only 20 today." Memiko closed her eyes in thought. ~That's weird. Usually there are only 8 a day no more than 10. What's going on?~
