Chapter 2 - The Takeover

"Ruine? Sakura? Are you ready?"

"Yes, sir."

"All right. Operation: Tokyo Takeover… Commence."

It was late at night, almost 2 am when it happened. The darkness fell first. Even in downtown Tokyo the moon was bright, but now it was covered. Covered as if someone had dropped a dome on top. Three vampires stood on the roof of the tallest building in downtown and watched as millions of vampires and demons poured into the city.

The first vampire was young, around 18. His black as night hair fell to his waist, and his chin-length bangs stuck out in every direction, the tips dyed blood red. His eyes were a bright gold and shining in the dark. He was tall, about 6 feet, and muscular. And he was the only one with large, dark purple raven wings. His fangs were exceptionally long and he had claws and pointy ears, like the rest of the vampires.

The vampire beside him was only 14 and had thigh-length golden hair and blood red eyes. She was around 5'8" and strong looking. Her fangs were small, but her claws were menacing. She had pointy ears as well.

The third vampire was around 30 and taller than them all, an amazing seven feet, and he had dark blue hair that seemed to be flying in the wind at all times. It fell to his shoulders and his long, wild bangs hang over into his red eyes. He was muscular, and had fangs, claws, and pointy ears like the rest.

"Ruine." He said promptly.

"Yes, sir?" The first vampire straightened up and turned to him.

"Go see what humans you can round up." He replied.

"Yes sir." With that, Ruine jumped from the building, spread his wings, and glided over the city.

"Sakura?"

"Yes, sir?" The girl straightened and faced him.

The vampire remained silent for a minute, the narrowed his eyes and said, "Keep an eye on Ruine. You know how he is."

"Yes sir, master Satoshii." She replied and bowed, her left arm stretched across her chest and her left fist balled and resting over her right breast. Then she straightened and jumped down onto the nearest lowest building and jumped along after Ruine, keeping hidden.

Satoshii lifted his wrist and pushed a button on his watch. "Sir?" he said into it. "Ruine and Sakura are after the humans. Should I return?"

"Yes." A voice replied, distorted by the electricity in the watch. "Return now and we'll discuss more plans."

"Yes sir."

You awoke to screams coming from the apartment under you. The air was stiff with the stench of blood, and you could hear Sid across the room crying. "Sid?" you asked, trying to turn on your lamp, but the power had been cut. Standing up, you followed your knowledge of the room and made it over to his bed, tripping over many dirty plates and such along the way. "Sid?" You asked again, sitting down on his bed and reaching for him.

He pressed himself against you, wrapping his short arms around you tightly. "Sis! What's going on?" he sniffled.

"I dunno…" you replied quietly, wrapping your arms around him. Picking him up, you walked over to the large window and looked out. Below, you could see millions of strange creatures running through the street. As they reached them, the street lamps cut off, one by one, until they were in total darkness.

"Sis? What are those things?"

"I don't know." But you did know. You knew very well they were vampires and demons. But you didn't want to frighten Sid more. "We have to go."

"Go where?" Sid asked you turned around and left the apartment, still carrying him, holding on tightly. You ran down the stairs and out the door. Blood was splattered all over the walls, and you had to fight off your screams. You kept Sid's face pressed to your shoulder so that he wouldn't see and so he just lay against you and cried.

You ran down the streets, pushing past hungry vampires and terrifying demons. Lucky enough not to be caught, but unlucky enough not to know where you were going. But you didn't care, you had to get away. You knew the apartment wasn't safe. You had to get away.

You had to get out of Tokyo.
